Hi. I think it was a bit premature of you to slap the expand tag onto Carl Wilhelm Schmidt when the article was all of four minutes old and had the "underconstruction" tag on it. I've left it there for now, but please in the future consider that the reason that someone might have the construction tag on an article is that they might actually be already expanding it =). Lankiveil (talk) 14:46, 28 December 2007 (UTC).[reply]
The article is under construction, and I've added the basic reason for notability. Other than having a disease named after him, he was also the discoverer of glycosamine and renonwned surgeon of his time. I'm in the process of adding all of that to the page. For now, I've added enough to satisfy WP:N.
Can you explain this? If the article needs work why not help rather than just slapping a tag on it? --and of course the article "needs to be expanded" it's just a stub. I guess I'm a little annoyed because I don't think the article reads like an ad at all. I know it needs to be expended (I just made it) --and now it has big ugly "problem article" banner on it when it's just an objectives description of a book. So, I don't know... stop by the talk page and explain your concerns otherwise I'll remove the banner and mark the article as a stub. futurebird (talk) 20:32, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What? This is not disparaging, nor a personal attack! I just saw on the band's page that there wasn't an existing article for their upcoming album, and created one using reliable information! Is that a problem? Shapiros10 (talk) 21:05, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, on my talk page, it says "Please do not make personal attacks. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Randomtime (talk" Well, who tagged it? It has your username.
Nerf Herder IV
Random time; can you upload an image to put in the Nerf Herder IV article? It's at their Myspace profile, [1]. That'd be awesome, as I don't know how. Shapiros10 (talk) 21:20, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
Ya I uploaded it, but how do i place it in an article? Shapiros10 (talk) 21:27, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
HI there. Good work on the new page patrolling, but could you not tag articles on people like university full professors speedy deletion please, as more often than not they are actually notable. Keep in mind that WP:CSD#A7 is intended mainly to screen out the more obvious "vanity" articles. "Joe Bloggs is a teenager from Somewhere. He likes football and supports Manchester United" - that sort of thing. To avoid it, an article doesn't have to prove beyond doubt that its subject is notable, just give a reasonable indication of why it might be notable. If the notability is questionable, better to use a notability tag and ask the creator to add references, or failing that use PROD or AfD. Thank you RT.
Is it ok if I edit my own's TALK page and empty it?
I didnt write that article, it was submited by an anon and created as part of WP:AFC. That said I had another look at the article, he was an early 20th century baseball player. I've added the info to the first sentence, should be fine now. On a side note, we are tackling a huge backlog at WP:AFC so what I decided to do was to simply post articles whithout cleaning them up first as that would take a long time to do. I've added all the articles ive created to my watchlist and I plan to review them after I'm done with the backlog, hopefully sometime in the next month or two. Cheers! You have nominated the page Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman for deletion. I have made a major rewrite, and editing was done to this page. This is a relatively new and important position to the US military structure and is a viable entry. I am a new editor here and learning the ropes, only in the past done editing and this was my first attempt at a new page submission. Please review and reconsider, or provide recommendations in my Talk page. Thank you.
