The important thing with images is they must be released under a free license, permission to 'simply' let Wikipedia use it, is not enough. This page explains how to ask permission and this one has some example emails you can send, personally I have successfully used the 'Semi-formal, Polite, Concise' letter. In short, read and follow Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. I'm always happy to offer you help, don't be afraid to ask! Just a couple of hints, generally new sections on talk pages go and the bottom, rather than top.
