I never had an account before this one, honestly. Even after I created it, I only logged in sporadically. I have been a long time reader of wikipedia prior to creating the account, but I guess that doesn't count. Wooden walls
You remember the story where some Athenians wanted to stay and fight a lost battle because they thought that their interpretation of a "prophecy" was the precise one, the wooden walls would actually protect them against the hordes of Xerxes? You can't know for sure what would have happened at the Battle of Salamis if the Persians hadn't spent time capturing and burning Athens.
