The CombinationI'm afraid I can't provide a better quote from the book I got the information from. They haven't cited anything other than newspaper reports from the time as where they got their information from. I think the best I can do is to tell you that the quote I put in comes from a chapter/paragraph entitled 1888-89. - PeeJay 22:46, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Request to delete an edit on Football Manager 2008this edit, which appears to be an unformatted copypaste of the material which you deleted earlier in the month (here is your message on the talk page regarding it, as I'm sure you delete many such edits all the time). Thanks. --Dreaded Walrus t c 17:45, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

James Milner Off the pitch sectionOver the past few weeks I’ve been researching desperately to try and expand this section. But for the most part I can only find very trivial facts. Another user has told me that off the pitch sections are not mandatory and in this case it would be best to remove it completely. I’m not so sure, however minor his off the pitch activities might be it would be useful to give an idea of what he’s like as a person. Please give me your views. Should it be expanded, removed completely or charged in some other way. Please give your views in the Milner Off the pitch section on my talk page. He had failed AfD before, but since then he has played internationally, and went to the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, so I think he passes notability now. Any chance of recreation? ChrisTheDude 18:22, 6 October 2007 (UTC) Article for DeletionMy intention for deleting the article instead of speedy deleting was because I thought that the criteria for speedy deletion was something with much higher reasons other than for the reasons for deletion, hence the deletion tag. I haven't seen the tag since, and if you felt the need to change, or upgrade the deletion type to a speedy deletion, go for it. Thanks. BeanoJosh 03:07, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Arsenal Stadium Mystery.jpgThanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Arsenal Stadium Mystery.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Deletion of Dean W. HockneySir: I would like to contest your deletion of Dean W. Hockney. Mr. Hockney is a noted graduate of Kokomo High School and a community leader as well as a National award winning writer. He is a subject matter expert in the field of high school basketball in Indiana (which is very important to Hoosiers). He also has one book already published, and I beleive his inclusion meets the Wikipedia standards. Thank you for reconsidering this entry. Hi. Thanks for your protection attempts regarding this article. If you look at the article talk page, you will see discussion intended to determine consensus regarding the inclusion of the Everton v. Liverpool match which has inflamed the senses of many of the contributors since Saturday. I have therefore rolled all the way back to include the best neutral account of the match possible at the moment, as myself and one other are still in discussion about this. No other editor has seen fit to qualify their edits by joining the discussion. I am grateful for your attention to this article. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 19:39, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi. It would have been useful (and a little considerate) to drop me a line that you'd prodded Pride of Anglia, as I created the article. Ho hum. Anyway, luckily I spotted the prod in my gargantuan watchlist (I must prune that) and I think it's much improved now. Please let me know if you still have strong concerns over OR. --Dweller 22:21, 22 October 2007 (UTC) Donald MoodHi. I've had a look in the book, and I can't find any record of a Donald Mood. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 21:51, 16 November 2007 (UTC) Daniel StockYou're right, the article is nonsense. This lists every player who has played for Chelsea's first team, and there's no record of "Daniel Stock" or anyone else called Stock. There's also no mention of him in the reserve or academy sides. They don't have an "under-21" team, just the aforementioned sides. Regards. SteveO (talk) 18:26, 17 November 2007 (UTC) Jonathan BurgessNot Nonsense!!! Having spend forever trying to keep the list logical, I just can't see any way in which we can improve it to be anything other than a subjective list based on the bias of individual editors. This weekend for example we have had Havant's win added (Notts County are hardly a footballing giant) and the readdition of Nottm Forest beating Charlton (bookies were giving the same odds on wins for both so it wasn't even a surprise.) Nicklas BendtnerHi there, there appears to be some sort of ridiculous edit dispute going on at this article. Basically it involves transfer speculation of the Dane -- I am firmly opposed to citing 6 sources for this piece of news but some editors think otherwise. Wish you could instil some sense in the madness, if you could. Cheers. Chensiyuan (talk) 14:14, 5 December 2007 (UTC) There appears to be an edit conflict arising from the removal of cited sources, the sources draw from a wide spectrum of sources that build a creditable case that Bendtner may indeed be moving to Chelsea. CorleoneSerpicoMontana (talk) 14:25, 5 December 2007 (UTC) Whilst I understand, and ultimately agree with the sentiment, the sources are not all the same, there are sources which elaborate on why he has been linked with a move away from the club. As you may know, I used it as the basis for my Manchester United subpage. What was the reason for your having it deleted? – PeeJay 16:58, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Sam OjiHi, you may want to add Sam Oji to your subpage under Minor former players. (He didn't have an Arsenal players category until about 2 minutes ago, which is probably why you missed him.) cheers, Struway2 (talk) 10:05, 13 December 2007 (UTC) Hi - I've just created an article about Robert Buchanan who was with Woolwich Arsenal before joining the Saints in 1896 . Can you add anything to his Gunners' career? Cheers. --Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 08:03, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Arsenal minor former playersHi, can you add Len Shackleton to the list. I've added a paragraph on his (very brief) Arsenal career. I'll have a look through my records and see who else I can come up with. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Goonerak (talk • contribs) 10:40, 16 December 2007 (UTC) Arsenal FC SeasonsOne anomaly that gets overlooked is Arsenal's league position at the end of 1914-15. The original Football League records show that Birmingham finised 5th and Arsenal finished 6th. In 1975, someone discovered that an error had been made in the calculation of goal average and the final table was corrected. Every Arsenal handbook up to 1975 showed the final league position as 6th! You might want to add a note somewhere on your page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Goonerak (talk • contribs) 10:54, 16 December 2007 (UTC) Found the reference! Phil Soar & Martin Tyler - The Official Centenary History Of Arsenal Football Club (1986), Chapter 4, page 42. Text as printed: "In 1914-15 the team had finished fifth in the Second Division (for 60 years that League table was invariably copied showing Arsenal finishing sixth but, in actual fact, they finished just above Birmingham on goal average by virtue of that 7-0 win over Forest in their final game)." I'm pretty certain there was an article about the "discovery" in an Arsenal programme during the 1974-75 season. I'll see if I can find it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Goonerak (talk • contribs) 13:00, 16 December 2007 (UTC) FlagsSorry! I thought it made the player pages look better. Especially as many of our younger players play in U21 teams and U19 teams. Also a quick question. It's a big help. I really want to try to standardise the way we represent stuff like this, which means eliminating custom tables, so if you have any suggestions on how to generalise the templates (or any corner cases) then please point them out. These will improve faster if they get more adoption. Chris Cunningham (talk) 15:49, 28 December 2007 (UTC) |
