This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. I'm confused as to why people don't think that I explain the significance...I assert that the Conservancy made an impact on the City of Whittier and surrounding environs, home to more than 100,000 people, and back it up with links to articles in the archives of the Whittier Daily News that explore its links to community issues (sorry the reflist didn't show up, I have no idea why that happened). I would classify the Cal Domestic Lawsuit as an event that led to the way Whittier politics have been for the last year (a point I have since expanded on), rather than a "one-time popularity event"...not exactly sure what that is, that kinda makes it sound like a rock concert...even so, that's why it gets a heading rather than a full article. I would note that other Wikipedia pages have links to the Conservancy page. BTW, after making those edits, I posted it as an under construction article, so you can feel free to edit it or discuss it. I guess part of my beef is that if a insignificant sports figure like Coby Karl who played like 10 minutes in the NBA is deemed significant, but a community organization in one of America's 275 largest cities is not. Sorry if I sound a little belligerent, I'm still kinda frustrated that it got axed Purplebackpack89 (talk) 18:42, 11 December 2008 (UTC) |
