Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBotSuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun! SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping. If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker. P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot 20:04, 16 January 2007 (UTC) Article tags at the reference deskPlease don't mark comments with article tags if the page is not an article. First of all, these tags place pages into categories that are only supposed to include articles. Secondly, the person asking the question had just stated that the comment was speculation, so there was no need to make a "formal" indication of such. You may not have intended it, but it seemed kind of rude to me. Leebo T/C 18:35, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
FlossieHi, I've redirected the Flossie article for now. It could still do a Daniel (2006) and not affect Hawaii. I think we're getting ahead of ourselves. The Atlantic guideline is only create an article when TS watches (or up) are issued, I don't see why it shouldn't be the same here. – Chacor 14:06, 11 August 2007 (UTC)
For GFDL purposes please remember to note in your edit summary that you're splitting the information from the seasonal article. Cheers! – Chacor 15:02, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Again I'd like to thank you for the job you're doing with Flossie. Just one little thing which I noticed when you added the preparations: please wikify all dates. "August 13" without wikilinks will appear "August 13". But with wikilinks the date format will default to what the user specifies in their preferences, and so will appear as "13 August" for those who choose that format, etc. Thanks, – Chacor 12:54, 14 August 2007 (UTC) I want to thank you for all your help on Hurricane Flossie (2007). It is my first substantial project and I have found your advice to be most helpful. There are still a lot of WPTC conventions for me to learn but so far this has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Plasticup T/C 16:23, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Hi, some advice... when writing the storm history, try to avoid making it sound like a narrative (like you did in the Flossie history with "and indeed the eye disappeared"), there are more "encyclopedic"/'formal' (so to speak) ways of phrasing it. I've fixed that bit now. Cheers, – Chacor 13:10, 15 August 2007 (UTC) Thank you for your editsI appreciate your contributions to Anthony Watts. The article looks much better. RonCram 03:43, 12 August 2007 (UTC) BuktaI don't think the entry Bukta should be deleted as it is in no way 'blatant' advertising on my behalf. I was simply filling in all the links on the Derby County F.C. page. If you look at the 'Kit' section of that page Bukta is the only one without a page of it's own. Given the company's long standing tradition of producing kits for clubs in the English footbal league I thought I deserved a mention. If you could reinstate this page I would very grateful. Thanks. Stub categoriesDear sir. You have recently added some stubs for Romanian geographic information. Stub categories should not create groups exceding several hundreds of articles. In the case of the Romanian river project this number is largely exceded both countrywise and countywise. Therefore, you are welcome to post stub categories but please do it using smaller administrative units, such as groups of communes, instead of entire countries, Thank you in advace.Afil 23:20, 12 August 2007 (UTC) IRC discussions on hurricanesIn case you're interested, there is an IRC channel for the tropical cyclone Wikiproject, in case you wished to talk to some of the other members. Chacor, Titoxd, Nilfanion, Coredesat, myself, and a few others users frequent there to talk about tropical cyclones and TC articles. If you are interested, here's a link; put your nickname in (we all use our Wiki-names to keep track of us), and under the channel tab put #wiki-hurricanes . See you around. Dean[1] Actually, the TS warning for Barbados was issued at the 5 am advisory. The original advisory was corrected to include Barbados. – Chacor 12:26, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
August 2007Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thank you. Tiddly Tom 19:52, 17 August 2007 (UTC) UpdateHello...just wanted to let you know that I just updated the Dean page with Advisory 24A information and refreshed the track picture as well. The information, which I linked in my edited summary, are directly from the NWS/NHC. Also, I have a note on the discussion page regarding my intended contributions on the subject. I also intend to contribute other work that ties my contributions to existing references in Wikipedia. Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Abbiebueller (talk • contribs) 21:05:17, August 19, 2007 (UTC). Fixing the spelling in a link?Hi Plasticup. You changed Aquires to Acquires in the Bell Sports Inc. article. The link that you edited pointed to a news release that included the spelling error in the title. I guess that's okay, and easier than putting [sic] in the reference. Anyway, just reminding you that every piddling little edit you do will be examined in unreasonable detail. Ronstew 06:37, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Here's your treat
Re: Effects of Dean in LAGo with your instinct! Preparations looks good at quick glance (I take it they're sorted by climatology); normally, the preps are split by several areas (watches/warnings, government preps, citizen preps, stuff like that), but with an article like that you chose a good way to organize that. For St. Lucia (and other areas), for every damage figure, you should also add USD in parenthesis- EC$1 million should be - EC$1 million ($300,000 USD). Also, what was the total damage for Dominica? It might not be a bad idea making a regional impact section of damage and deaths, though it doesn't need to be as elaborate as that of the main article (something like this). Keep it up. Hurricanehink (talk) 22:02, 24 August 2007 (UTC) SourcesHi. The sources that I'm using are the articles of the 2007 BWF World Championships and their sub-articles. All these articles have their own sources added, but I thought it was no usefull adding an external link of the championship for each player article, when it is already explained in the champoinship article of wikipedia. Anyway, I'm trying to add the BWF Profile of each player now. Thank you for your attention. :-) MontanNito 03:24, 27 August 2007 (UTC) AWBEarlier you reported that you were having display problems with WP:AWB in version 4.0.0.0. Can you do us a favor and upgrade to the newest version and let us know if you are still having the problem? If you could let us know at WP:AWB/DEV whether or not you have the problem, that would be great. Thanks again. —METS501 (talk) 14:45, 16 September 2007 (UTC) Orphaned non-free media (Image:Plasticup AWB display.jpg)Thanks for uploading Image:Plasticup AWB display.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
