Obviously, you may know plenty about this family that I don't, but the statement that Lawrence's father was a member of the Fettiplace family must be backed by a reference identifying this particlar Lawernce. Macdonald-ross (talk) 13:04, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Sock Puppet on 12th Duke of Devonshire pageHi there, I'm not too familiar with the subject of this article to be too much help, although there was a clear case of sockpuppetry last year. At a glance at the history of the page, certain editors are trying to add unreferenced (and contentious) information regarding the number of children. It's right to remove this, but really the information that he has three children should have references to reliable sources too, or be removed, especially given the fact that the subject of the article is a living person. (See the Biographies of living persons policy). I would suggest getting these references in the article first of all. If there really is genuine doubt over the number of children (as I say, I am not familiar with the subject) then you need to reach a consensus with other editors. Discuss it on the article talkpage (as you have been doing - don't forget to sign your comments!), and if you can't get anyone else to engage in discussion, consider a Requests for comment. This will hopefully get others involved who may know about the subject. You may also find the Biography project and its talkpage helpful. If there are continued problems with editors you suspect to be sockpuppets, start by reading Wikipedia:Sock puppetry. Hope this is of some help, --BelovedFreak 21:16, 19 June 2009 (UTC) Unattached vs. free agentRui Fonte has a contract with Sporting Clube de Portugal, so he can't be a free agent. As he wasn't going to be part of the squad for this season, he and his club were looking for a club for him to develop; so, he's considered unattached. I've used Rui Fonte's example in order to explain it to you more easily. If, before he left Arsenal, Sporting didn't have any contract with him, then he would be considered a free agent.
