May I suggest we continue on Talk:Forty Hadith (Ayatollah Khomeini) so that future readers have a chance to find this discussion? Thanks, Pgallert (talk) 19:23, 4 January 2016 (UTC) Your analysisI am a bit concerned your analysis here may be true. But I don't understand how Glassdoor works. Can you readvertise old surveys? Do the results refer to Sue or to Lila? Peter Damian (talk) 21:10, 12 January 2016 (UTC)
Help decide the future of WikimaniaThe Wikimedia Foundation is currently running a consultation on the value and planning process of Wikimania, and is open until 18 January 2016. The goals are to (1) build a shared understanding of the value of Wikimania to help guide conference planning and evaluation, and (2) gather broad community input on what new form(s) Wikimania could take (starting in 2018). After reviewing the consultation, we'd like to hear your feedback on on this survey. In addition, feel free to share any personal experiences you have had at at a Wikimedia movement conference, including Wikimania. We plan to compile and share back outcomes from this consultation in February. With thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk), from Community Resources 23:46, 12 January 2016 (UTC) RevertHi, [[1]] was actually a rather insidious vandalism that took me a while to identify. Another editor has reverted it back to my version. The editor who committed the original vandalism has a rather long history of vandalism: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log/block&page=User%3A196.14.21.218 Thanks for your courtesy notice. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Feminist organizations in AfricaA tag has been placed on Category:Feminist organizations in Africa requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason: WP:ENGVAR duplicate of Category:Feminist organisations in Africa
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. The hook might be something like this:
The article also has a photo if you think it is worth adding to the hook. -- Ssilvers (talk) 09:06, 4 April 2016 (UTC)

ContestsUser:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:35, 21 July 2016 (UTC) Hello. I've revamped the contest page into this, based on the new British model. Long term goal, but I've added entries since the beginning of July to give it some initial life. Please add anything you've done since then on this too! All your Namibian contributions can be added! I hope it proves productive long term. The contests are still planned, but will be more tools towards increasing bulk output in overall goal. It's a permanent goal now, and open! I would be grateful if you could keep a record of all your articles you do there, as I really think seeing the combined efforts will encourage others to create more content too! Please spread the word to the others, cheers!♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:26, 3 September 2016 (UTC) Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately I've run into some editors from Nigeria who've now walked out on the contests becuase they didn't like work done last month and July being added to the list. To avoid conflict with the other contests and coordinators I've made it strictly from beginning of September. One article you did on Aug 31 can count though! I had thought showcasing some of the ones done might encourage more people to produce, but looks like we're going to have to start from scratch! It'll be a great challenge long term though, but regaining the support of the Nigerian editors isn't likely I'm afraid. Feel free to put up Namibian articles or any African articles which badly need cleanup/destubbing/creating on the main challenge page, might increase likelihood of them being done!"♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:10, 7 September 2016 (UTC)

Would you kindly nominate Dorothy Gill for DYK if you think it will pass? If you do, please link me to the nomination discussion, or let me know if you can't do it. A possible hook: "...that contralto Dorothy Gill was so popular during the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company's visit to New York in 1934 that American fans petitioned for her return?" All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 05:43, 8 October 2016 (UTC)
DestubathonHi. thanks for your contributions towards the challenge. I'm running Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon from October 15 to November 27 which needs contributors. Before it starts contestants will be asked if they want articles done for it to also count towards the 10,000 challenge, and it's also a chance to win some prizes for contributing towards the whole range of countries, so sign up at the destubathon if interested! Even if not interested in prizes, there will be the focus on destubbing anyway and hopefully people can still be a part of it. So even if you just fleshed out Namibia stubs during it that would be welcome, and count towards the challenge at the same time!♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:25, 8 October 2016 (UTC) DYK nomination of Rosa NamisesHello! The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Rosa Namises. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Rosa Namises), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Hello Pgallert,
If each reviewer does only 10 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work. Read about it at the new Monitoring the system section in the tutorial.
With some tweaks to their look, and some additional features, Page Curation and New Pages Feed could easily be the best tools for patrollers and reviewers. We've listed most of what what we need at the 2016 WMF Wishlist Survey. Voting starts on 28 November - please turn out to make our bid the Foundation's top priority. Please help also by improving or commenting on our Wishlist entry at the Community Wishlist Survey. Many other important user suggestions are listed at at Page Curation.
