Hi! A request for your input

Per wp:CANVASSING, this is a neutrally worded notice being sent, without any type of "selection" bias, to everyone that edited fairly recently the MOS page about how to term the Latter Day Saints denominations on Wikipedia in the belief that your various and collective expertise or expertises, if that's a plural, can help us improve its wording, if possible. a bit. The most pertinent section is here. And the issue is to what degree the terms "Mormon church" and "LDS church" relate to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in specific, and to what kind of sourcing should be used to document this. Questionable "written like a résumé" citation

Please look into the "Like resume" tag at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diane_Roberts , which article I attempted to make conform slightly more to the "Wikipedia:Manual of Style (biographies)" and, in the process, moved the "Like resume" tag to the bottom of the article right above the "stub" notice. What is in the present article is all the objective information I can gather about the person; I initially wrote the article to resolve a couple of red links to her and, although I met her briefly twice (in 2004 and 2005), I have no reason to promote her or in any other way write in a non-neutral tone but may appear to have done so because all the available information is all positive. inre Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Prosper Masquelier

With respects, what the French do at their Wikipedia does not dictate what we do at ours. Their deletion vote and its lack of actual discussion has little bearing on what we do here. That said, and finding enough sources dealing directly with him to satisfy our notability guidelines, I've been working on the article for Prosper Masquelier... fixing someone's poor trans-wiki of the article from fr.Wikipedia, adding proper reliable sources, correcting errors created by the mis-translation to English, removing hyperbole, and making the whole thing properly encyclopedic per OUR manual of style.[1] God love the French, but they use a skewed set of guidelines and policies... similar to but not quite the same as ours... and per OUR policies and guidelines, I think the GNG is met. Our standards might be confusing for newcomers and sometimes seem as over-complicated, but they work. Perhaps the French might one day use our ways as an example. There is no such institution as The Royal Veterinary College, Edinburgh. I tried to amend this but it was rejected. It's a common and confusing mistake. Good luck with further research. New to wiki - not sure how to contact you about edit you made - used this method to talk to you - delete when done reading

I agree with your edit of chilling hours page citing the wiki rules you mentioned. The work is original. As far as the other heading surviving, if wiki does not let application or how-to knowledge exist on it, then I will probable not have anything useful to add to wiki. I am a scientist. Encyclopedic definitions are easily available on the web. Useful application data is truly valuable and difficult to come by. If wiki does not want the rare valuable part of acquired lifelong experience, then it will remain little more than a dictionary. I did not pay much attention to wiki's limitations until now. I will let others keep wiki updated with commonly available word definitions. It is the real life experimentation outside of the classroom that interests me. Wikipedia absolutely depends on the lifelong experience of its editors. The No Original Research policy stems from another of Wikipedia's pillars: Verifiability. Someone who reads something in Wikipedia needs to be able to follow a reference to the source of that information, to judge its truth. Why should I believe something, just because a Wikipedia editor says it?
The other issue is that Wikipedia cannot be everything. Other sites, such as wikiHow and How To Wiki do a much better job of teaching how to do something, and some textbook-style information can be found in Wikipedia's sister project Wikiversity. Readers who want agricultural advice would not know to look for it in achilling requirement article. On the other hand, someone who learns that a plant has a chilling requirement can come to Wikipedia to find out what that is, and why it works. My personal experience is that I have been able to explore vast treasures of knowledge by browsing Wikipedia. Your mileage may vary. Vandalism to Armando Manzanero

Hi, regarding your edit to Armando Manzanero, please look a bit back on the article's edit history before totally removing a paragraph of the article, it's more constructive to undo vandalism than plain blanking, even if it takes a bit more time. Rosa, thank you for your feedback. I did look at history and attempted, without success, to substantiate the reference. Please look at my discussion on the article's talk page. Mikhail, I apologize for my hasty reversion of your changes. I have restored your edit. For reasons I don't understand, Google Chrome was rendering the math formulas with an error message. OK. I also noticed that the new "live preview" (which show the preview without reloading the page) sometimes displays errors for formulas that where edited, but these errors usually disappear after hitting "Show preview" several times or after saving. As a biography of a living person, I agreed with the nominator for speedy deletion that it wasn't in shape for publication in main article space because notability was not established in the article. I also accept the possibility that he is notable based on your contested deletion rationale on the talk page. Jack, thank you for your kind words. Our paths have crossed several times in unrelated articles in the past week or so. Given Wikipedia's size, I find that remarkable and gratifying. I did know about the Reference Desk but hadn't really checked it out. It looks interesting, and I might jump in at some point. Right now, I have been spending time at the IRC channel #wikipedia‑en‑help. It is only a matter of time until I burn out from the people who want to know why the article about their client was declined, but for now I am having fun. Yes, we agree about English usage. However, one of my recurring time-machine fantasies involves telling my grammar-fascist (I don't like the term grammar nazi) father about Appendix Probi and pointing out that all the terms in the right column of that document became words that are now zealously defended by royal language academies. (The fun irony about Appendix Probi is that writers from the Classical period of Latin would have sneered at some of the terms in the left column.) OK, I've written enough for now. I look forward to exchanging ideas with you in the future. Oh, by the way, I really like your signature. It inspired me to make one of my own. And how good it was of you to direct me to an article that prominently displays the word palimpsest. You couldn't have known, but it's one of my most disliked words ever. It was one of the first entries on my ever-expanding list of such shockers. Oh, I can see already we're going to be the best of friends.  :)
If you have an interest in old languages and scripts, I can heartily recommend The Ark Before Noah by Irving Finkel. I bought it only 2 days ago and am not yet finished reading it, but it is unputdownable. Hi. I just reviewed (and accepted) the article. I'm curious though about the section "Reaction to Bernie Ward's arrest and conviction." I can identify with what you wrote on your talk page about having the reaction, "How can there not already be an article?" While I was going through a very rough spot in my life, I watched Happy on my local PBS station and had that reaction when I saw the part about Pritchard.
