Question from RebeccaM226 (15:33, 1 August 2024)

Hello, I ask for assistance as my submission for an article about a musician was declined. Regarding reliable sources for a musician, which are the sites are considered as reliable sources for music release ? Because the reviewer said that discogs.com neither imdb are accepted. The proof of work of my musician article is on many of these places. what can we do to showcase that ? thank you for your help --RebeccaM226 (talk) 15:33, 1 August 2024 (UTC)

Hey @RebeccaM226:, you can look at WP:A/S for a list of reliable music sources. Also, check WP:RSP for a more general list on which sources to use/not to use. Note that these lists are non-exhaustive, and sources may be reliable without being on the list.
The problem with Discogs and IMDb is that the content is generated by anonymous internet users. So, I'm sure it's understandable why we don't want to copy information from there— we have no way of knowing it's correct. Please read WP:RS for an in-depth guide on what constitutes a reliable source. In essence, you need to find reputable publications talking about your subject, like newspapers, magazines, or books. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 20:30, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
Thank you so much for that !!! Can you tell me what is the limit to resubmit an article before the draft is deleted ? Also if it is deleted, can we resubmit later the same article ? thanks so much for your help. RebeccaM226 (talk) 16:46, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
Hi @RebeccaM226:, glad I could help! A draft will be deleted if it hasn't been edited for six months. It can be undeleted if you decide to return to it, however. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 16:58, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

Question from Toddclark99 (02:50, 17 August 2024)

How do I make an article on my phone --Toddclark99 (talk) 02:50, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

@Toddclark99: Hi there, you should begin by creating a draft at the Article wizard. Use Help:Your first article as a guide on how to start. Make sure to look over Wikipedia's core policies first.

Question from ILoveFinance (12:34, 22 August 2024)

Hey! As of this morning, is seem to be stuck with only the Edit Source option on pages, rather than the usual Edit (Visual Editor). My settings have Visual Editing enabled, but I only see Edit Source now. Not sure if you've encountered this or how to fix. Thank you! --ILoveFinance (talk) 12:34, 22 August 2024 (UTC)

Well it appears if I uncheck the visual editor option in my preferences, the normal edit tab comes back! Not sure how this got reversed haha ILoveFinance (talk) 12:39, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
Ah, I take that back, even though the button at the top right of pages now says "Edit," it still brings me to the Source Editor. Ahhhh! ILoveFinance (talk) 12:40, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
{{done}} I apologize for all the messages, the issue has self-resolved somehow. This is resolved! ILoveFinance (talk) 12:43, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
@ILoveFinance: Usually, I find that it uses whatever I last used. Do you know how to switch between source/visual editors using the pencil/eye dropdown in the top right corner? Or is the problem that you always want to force visual editor?
You can also add ?veaction=edit to any URL to force visual editor. Glad you seem to have figured it out. Thanks — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 17:28, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
