Hi, you declined my draft Article on the band Tools You Can Trust which I thought was a bit harsh. Any advice on turning your decision around? For example, to reference that they had done 3 John Peel sessions I had simple referenced the Wikipedia page listing this information, but I have now added a reference to the BBC Page about the sessions. Is this the sort of change needed. Red.commenting (talk) 11:28, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
@Red.commenting: Hi there. Fandom and Discogs are not reliable sources (see WP:RSDISCOGS and WP:FANDOM). Remove them, either replace the citations with better ones, or remove the statements they cite. The external link after "There is a reasonably active YouTube channel" is improper (see WP:ELPOINTS). Multiple references are improper. For example, plain text of "Michael Prendergast review March 1984" is not sufficient. Read Help:Referencing for beginners. "Personal Vinyl Collection" is very insufficient. You are allowed to cite liner notes from, say a vinyl, but not as you did it. You use {{cite AV media notes}}.
Bear in mind, some subjects simply aren't notable enough to have articles written about them. Let me know if you have any other questions. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 14:14, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

Actually, new articles created by a split can be Prodded, as the split article doesn't necessarily have the same notability as the main article (e.g. a school article can survive an AfD, but if you then split the list of headmasters to a separate article, that one can and in many cases should be prodded). I hadn't seen the recent AfD, I would have voted delete but as it was this recent, I'll not start a new one. Thanks! Fram (talk) 15:13, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
Well, I didn't split away from a non list article (like in your school example). I split a purely list article into 3 parts for technical reasons (page crashed vis editor, took too long to load). But I see your point. :) — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 15:15, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
Fair enough, and in any case you are free to remove a Prod for any or no reason at all, and yours was a lot better than many deprods I see. Fram (talk) 15:17, 10 October 2022 (UTC)
The article Don't Wake Me Up (album) you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Don't Wake Me Up (album) for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Election news: In our mid-year election, serving coordinators Baffle gab1978, Dhtwiki, Miniapolis, Reidgreg and Tenryuu were returned for another term, and were joined by new coordinator Zippybonzo. No lead coordinator was elected for this half-year. Jonesey95, a long-serving coordinator and lead, was elected as coordinator emeritus; we thank them for their service. Thank you to everyone who took part. Our next election of coordinators takes place throughout December. If you'd like to help out at the GOCE, please consider nominating yourself or other suitable editors (with their permission, of course!). It's your Guild, after all!
