Re:Dosa

Hi. I was clear about my reasons. Bangalore hasn't been renamed to Bengaluru because the new name is restricted to the state of Karnatak. Even the official site of the city refused to express the changes. Regarding Kolkata, it is now known by everyone as "Kolkata" and no one uses "Calcutta". The worldwide opinion forms the basis of the coverage in an encyclopedia. I even found some sites of Chennai Dosa here. If you type "Dosa's official website", you get dosa named sites. But if you hit "Thosai's official site" you see no change! Hence, its not really wise to use it. :) Secret of success Talk to me 08:24, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We are organising a Media Contest for images/videos/audios related to Tamil, Tamils and Tamil Nadu.

  • Prize Money: Total prize money for the contest is 850 US$. First prize is 200 US $ and there are a total of 9 prizes including three continuous contribution prizes. Certificates will be awarded to prize winners
  • Upload: Files have to be uploaded to Wikimedia commons through the Contest portal using a customised version of the commons upload wizard. Or if you choose to upload directly to commons, the category "TamilWiki Media Contest" has to be added to the files.

Periyar River

Thanks for your effort to keep wikipedia article accurate.

Do you mind to provide the proper TN Govt artcile/documents as a citation about river origin. I would appreciate if you can tell me how many Kms this river is running through state on TN. Nowhere TN govt sites it is mentioned that Periyar originates from TN.
