Hi, I created the article National Day of Hatred, dealing with the May 20 celebrations in Cambodia. Please have a look at it, I know you are usually interested in Cambodia topic articles. --Soman (talk) 19:43, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
You're an admin come back
I'm a little disappointed that you haven't at least emailed me as to what the problem is. You;ve gone AWOL for two months. Come back and get uploading those images of Cambodia!!!!!!! LOL. Dr. BlofeldWhite cat10:25, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Right, last newsletter before the next round and it's a congratulations to eight of you lot. Unfortunately we say goodbye to a fair few users along the way but that is the competition. Next round, there will only be one pool which will see the lowest scoring users eliminated two months into the round. Should be good fun! Get your nominations in soon!

From the Judges
Apologies for not getting a newsletter out before this, but all of the judges happened to be away at the same time. Very impressive start of the round. Only sixteen days in, and our top four are already completely above 200 points. By the way, this is light red, not pink! :P

How coincidental!!!! Yak yak! I love yaks! You've been to Tibet!! How awesome. My sister is in China too at the moment! I'll have to stick to being a chair Himalayan Explorer until I get lots of money to pay for my trip! How are you??Himalayan14:40, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Great! I was worried that somebody was ill again or you just gave up on the wiki! We need you and several thousand Cambodians on here! Well yes there was a lot of wiki drama particularly at the end of July over German politicians and BLPs and more recently the good old Dr. caused somebody to leave wikipedia because he created articles on Palestinian villages like Bashshit! and got himself blocked for 30 seconds for calling somebody a nasty name in response to a forum that they started attacking him on.... Now that's what I call Aevil! Anyway I've changed my focus on wikipedia and am no longer a mass stub creator, my aim now is to improve quality now we've hit 3 million, so somebody else will have to create those sub stubs about Cambodian and Vietnamese communes.... I will still be creating new articles but they will be much better than previously, I've started Wikipedia:WikiProject Intertranswiki to work towards transferring articles but without bots we are as limited as ever.Himalayan14:57, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
Heh, I must admit that I wouldn't have found out about your return if not for Maedin's talk page (I have it watchlisted at the moment). <social call>So, how was your trip to Tibet? In case you're wondering, I've gotten in some activity at DYK since you left; I have 3 DYKs right now. And unfortunately, I'm not terribly active at ACC anymore, though as of late I have been in the mood to get back to work there.</social call>

I can't image any way that something you nominate even as early as today will pass before Wednesday. If anything you've already nominated passes between now and Wednesday, or you still have things you haven't added to your submission pages, now is the time to do it! This half of the round ends this Wednesday (September 30) at 23:59 (UTC), and the bottom four contestants will be eliminated. The top four will keep their score from the first half, and continue competing through October 31. Good luck everyone!

Hi everyone! We're very sorry we didn't get this one out anytime sooner. We've all been pretty busy IRL. But down to business: Since the last newsletter, the first half of the round has ended. We said goodbye to Candlewicke, Juliancolton, and Mitchazenia. We'd like to thank them for all of their hard work getting this far. Shoemaker's Holiday has also withdrawn, so we'd like to thank him for his hard work too. Congratulations to Durova, Ottava Rima, Sasata, and Theleftorium for making the top 4! Good luck to you all.
You also may have seen from the WikiCup talk page that we have a new judge! J Milburn is joining our judging team effective immediately. J was assigned after Garden and Thehelpfulone announced they would be highly inactive throughout the remainder of the WikiCup. It is likely you will see J return as a judge next year as well.
Good luck again to the remaining four contestants! 20 days left in the Round, so make sure you get all your content nominated soon! You've all worked hard for this, since the beginning of January. I'm sure you're all tired by now, but you've come too far to just give up now. Congratulations Top 4!

It just came to me that multiple users have worked together on a bunch of content items, which means the newsletter counts are likely off. I'll try to put that all together and figure it out by the end of the round.
The end of the round, and the end of the 2009 WikiCup is this coming Saturday, October 31! To our top four: don't give up yet. Make sure that anything you have left to nominate is nominated today or tomorrow, for the slighted chance of it passing in time. The last day items will be accepted is Saturday, at 23:59 (UTC). It ain't over till the fat lady sings, of course!

The 2009 WikiCup Participant Award

Hello. The SPI team recently removed several of the more inactive clerks, to make way for people who have expressed interest in becoming active with the process. As some people who were removed have expressed no interest or wish to return to clerking, access to the bot functions have also been revoked. Of course, if you wish to remain a clerk, just readd your name to the list; but we do ask that you remain minimally active with the process. Thanks. PeterSymonds (talk)01:03, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Well, it was a long, long ride, with plenty of ups as well as downs (but I'm sure you'll agree, definitely more ups). It's been ten long months since our kick-off in January, and the level of competition has intensified so much so quickly. It's a wonder there was any puff left in our final eight by the end, but they fought to the death and, eventually, Durova pulled through, making her proficiency with FPs count as the contest drew to a close. Special mentions must go to the other members of the last four, Ottava Rima, Sasata and Theleftorium, all of whom put in a astonishing shift in their efforts to peel Durova away from her victory. Congratulations again!

Some people are adamantly opposed to talkback templates. I'm not sure whether you automatically plan to check my talk page for my response, or want it here, but it is on my talk page. While I'm here, I see we have something in common. I've spent a little time in Tibet, only a few weeks, and I didn't really see any populated areas (but I did see some yaks).--SPhilbrickT17:06, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Hello!!
Where have you been for 15 months AWOL??? I was only thinking about you the other day when I heard about the stampede. How is everything? I haven;t done much work on Cambodia, but I've been working on Burma amongst other things.... I wish you'd have time to at least email as to what you are doing.. ♦ Dr. Blofeld14:13, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
Hey but come you couldn't spare like ten minutes in 15 months to email me eh? Its just you used to be fairly active on here. I understand you are extremely busy with work, family etc but whenever you've used your computer you could have quickly sent an email! please do keep in contact even if it is only every few months. I was worried that something was wrong with your daughter again or something. If you email me in the toolbox i'll respond and you can register my email address Ian. Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity
Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts.
