Jenny AgutterThanks for trying to settle this. The wholesale reverts have been ridiculous, and I have always been willing to work to a compromise with reasoanble people. I have added a couple of comments to the talk page along with a suggestion. I have also made a slight alteration to the article concering the cuts to Walkabout. I am giving you this information here, rather than in the context of a GA review, because if I was formally reviewing it I would be bound to quick-fail it, and I hate doing that. My advice is that you withdraw this nomination, work on the above points and general article improvements, and then renominate. I will be happy to give informal advice, if you wish. BelovedFreak 20:51, 22 April 2010 (UTC) HerefordHi Paul, I noticed you contribute to articles concerning English counties, so I would like to ask your opinion on something: I wondered if the matter of the IPA pronunciation of the shire county names had already occurred to you. Like most words in British English that end in r, the final r in Herefordshire, for example, is not pronounced. The occasional exception being that an intrusive r may be used to link to the pronunciation of the next word when the next word begins with a vowel, such as in, for example, 'Herefordshire apples'. Some editors (not British) appear to insist that whether this is so or not, the correct version for the Wikipedia should be the one that shows the r to be always pronounced. Many other editors (mostly British) claim that the IPA in the Wikipedia should show the most usual, most widespread, and most frequently used pronunciation, which in the case of the English counties would most likely be the one without the r at the end. This has been the subject of rather a long series of discussions, some rather heated with personal attacks from admins. For the moment, as I think your unbiased opinion is best, I won't confuse you with links to the links to the many discussions, so I would very much like to know your basic personal opinion here, whichever pronunciation you support. --Kudpung (talk) 08:21, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

I noticed your edit to Heaton Manor School in regards to alumni, namely Ms. Cole. I saw the link to the Mail page in the references also written by Piers Morgan. Unfortunately Piers or the people at the Mail have got it wrong, Cheryl Tweedy did not attend Heaton Manor School, but Walker Comprehensive School (now known as Walker Technology College). Cheryl grew up in an estate between Byker and Heaton (although the newspapers always report this as Heaton, but in actual fact, it's between the two areas). Cheryl lived in both "Heaton" and Walker, but she didn't attend Heaton Manor School. It's a bit of a tricky situation because the reference clearly states this, but as a former alumnus of the school itself, I can vouch that Cheryl did not attend Heaton Manor School. This link here [1] gives a quote from Dr. Gaiter, the headmaster of Walker Comprehensive. The headmaster(s) of Heaton Manor at the time would have been Mr. Peter Illingworth, Mr. Michael Nesbitt and Mr. John Dryden. I'm not sure as what the WP procedure is when there is a dispute regarding a web source and I've contacted the Mail in regards their error. Cheers! I used to use the Mountbatten Brailler at school, both as a manual Brailler and as an embosser. I've got most of them but there may be one or two I've missed. Also, I've created a book about the college. As for Cheryl Cole, I'm in the process of reading up on her before I attempt anything with the article.
