Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Oxymoron83. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that you have only been editing Wikipedia using this account for little over a month.
Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. Daniel07:32, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations on finding my secret page! I started out with this one, and will make a harder one in the future, and have them get harder as I go on ("secret page 2", "secret page 3", etc.). I'll let you know when "secret page 2" goes into effect. Cheers! hmwith talk13:28, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For continually fighting vandals (and being attacked by them), beating me to reverts and constant reports to AIV, I award you the RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar. ck lostsword • T • C 10:14, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is for the tireless anti-vandalism work you have done. I have seen your name quite a bit in my recent changes patrol and...well...you have beaten my quite a bit as well. Cheers! †Sir James Paul†08:52, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
begin sarcasm* Thank you for reverting Wolverhampton Council election 2006 after contributions from IP 80.195.21.26 *end sarcasm*. That particular IP is mine, and I didn't log in when I pasted in the 4 hours work I had done on that article. I can't fathom why on earth you did that? Fortunately I had my work on my clipboard and have once again pasted the fruits of my labour into the article (albeit while I have been logged in). Please, if you're going to revert my efforts (I may have been a member for a while, but this is the first time I have put a HUGE amount of effort into a Wikipedia article), explain why on earth you have done so!
I just wanted to let you know that I did not make that "test" on Key Largo, nor did anyone else in my family. I am stumped as to how it listed my IP address, as I have a registered name on Wikipedia and I have made many, many contributions under that name ("Schmendrick"), and I detest vandalism.
Hi, I just thought I'd give you a heads up. I reverted 3 edits of vandalism on your user talk page by 70.255.170.27, and 1 edit of vandalism on your userpage, also by the same user. I don't understand why people do this... but just so you know, it's under control. --HAL2008talkContributions17:31, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for cleaning up the vandalism on my user page earlier. Wow, my first vandal attack where they went so far as to name the account at me, and I missed it. :) I've got a feeling I know who it was that did it, too, but eh, their problem, not mine. Again, thank you for being on the ball, spotting it, and cleaning it up! —C.Fred (talk) 04:00, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for catching the vandalism to my page. If you hadn't caught it, I most likely would have missed it. Thanks again. Aruton 04:29, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
I was wondering how you reverted the vandalism on your page before i did cause I was right there watching that ip's contributions! Oysterguitarist07:01, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I use VF, so I see the changes at the second they are made. In combination with TW a revert is just two clicks away. As I have to cope with some duties in RL the next hours, I will follow the advice from Hirohisat, leaving over the vandals for you. I also appreciate your work! See you later ;)--Oxymoron8307:26, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"There has been success in using signed commands rather than verbal ones to train deaf dogs"
I was responding to a request for a citation. Perhaps I misunderstood what is an appropriate citation but it seemed relevant to me. Any help in clarifying would be greatly appreciated as my intention is to contribute in a responsible way. I am new to this and am not a geek, just a dog lover. Also I'm having trouble logging in. I log in, it accepts me, then after that anytime I try to do anything it tells me I'm not logged in. No amount of logging in seems to satisfy Wiki. As I said I'm no geek and will work to learn but in the meantime I appear as anonymous and that is also not my intention.
I'm a fan of Wikipedia and thank you for keeping the site useful. I know it's hard work.
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Please explain if you want. I reverted your edit (as I've already written to your talk page), because you inserted a link to a website that doesn't meet the WP:LINKS criteria and you also removed the References-section. --Oxymoron8317:34, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your speedy reply. There was a request for a citation for which I added the link. The definition of a citation according to Wikipedia is "A citation or bibliographic citation is a reference to a book, article, web page". I provided a web page as a link. Not sure what was wrong with that but I will research WP:LINKS. Removing the references section was inadvertent and I have no idea how that happened. Perhaps I need to play in the sandbox more. Apologies
So the best way to insert your reference is by placing <ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.deafdogs.org|title=Deaf Dog Education Action Fund}}</ref> behind the statement you want to cite. Please consider to replace the url=-tag with the url of the specific subpage on the website. This way, there's no need to modify the reference section. Please sign your posts to discussion pages with ~~~~. And your talk page is here: User talk:67.142.130.55. Best regards --Oxymoron8318:26, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
First off, Im amazed at how fast you are at reverting vandalism, as you have continously beat me to the punch everytime Ive seen an act in the last 20 minutes or so. I know you're using a program to do this, so I was wondering how that program works and where I can find it. Thanks --Tao of tyler07:49, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I use WP:VF in combination with WP:TW, this way a revert is just two clicks away. With some training you can become faster, although most important is that the vandalism is revertet, no matter of time. Best regards --Oxymoron8308:05, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I imagined the same. The last ~25 edits to the AIV page were only reverts of trolling users removing themselves. --Oxymoron8312:19, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I occasionally edit anonymously still, especially when I forget to log in. This IP Address is no longer vandalising, since I registered at Simple English Wikipedia. I have no intentions of vandalism, and when you see this IP, remember that it is me. bibliotheque(Talk)14:11, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't want a page/account any longer, I do not know the account's password, and I did not provide an email address when I signed up. Can you please just delete the page? In case you're wondering - no, I don't know German; I just have a good German friend. If I knew German, trust me it would be on top of my userbox stack! I just hope I got that small stunt right. ;-) On a more serious note, I commend you for a stupendous job whacking those restless vandals. —Anastalk?23:31, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, thank you! And yes, you spelled that right. Also good to know someone who is able to understand the Arabic language. Thanks again.--Oxymoron8305:56, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And again. The perp is probably just another of this user's many guises. I'd permaban the former as a troll account, but then it might look personal. Anyway, he doesn't seem much interested in sprotected pages, so a four-day-old account is no more useful to him than a four-second-old account. -- Hoary 08:58, 23 July 2007 (UTC) PS and another one. -- Hoary09:34, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you revert the edit on my Verschoyle Patent Mandrel page? It was not a test but a genuine edit! (He is my cousin) 82.30.37.2623:38, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because your edits changed 3 things in a non-constructive way:
1. you removed the references-section although there is a reference included with the ref-tag
2. you included an external link to a website, that doesn't exist
3. you included a category that doesn't exist
And as there was nothing left to keep from your edit regarding these things, I reverted it back and wrote a message on your talk page to point you to the welcome page. --Oxymoron8305:26, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Quick Question
I really don't know where to ask a question that I have, and while I realize you're not an Admin, after 2+ hours of looking, I really could not find an appropriate page to ask this on. Since you and I "bump edits" often when reverting vandalism, I thought perhaps you would have a couple minutes to answer something for me. If you don't, that's okay too. But if you do, feel free to let me know on my Talk page so I don't mess yours up. :) Ariel♥Gold21:36, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hrmm, I looked into VF, but the download link was (and still is) a "page not found" error, and I could not find any other download links. If you have a valid link, can you shoot it over to my page, pretty pretty please? I'd like to try that out. The bot output in the IRC channels gets pretty messy at times, lol.
Ohhh that link worked, thank you so much! (Now I just have to figure out how to work it, lol) Nice to have someone to talk to while fishing for trolls, lol. I hope I didn't bother you too much. Feel free to bug me any time you're bored and want some side-conversation. :) Ariel♥Gold22:51, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ugh, I've been staring at that program for half an hour, read the instructions on the page, fiddled with the config tab, and it is still scrolling by wayyyyyyy too fast for me to even read. I don't understand what "whitelist" and "blacklist" are. I thought that those were things only admins added to certain users? I'm soo confused. Ugh. *sigh* lol. Ariel♥Gold23:21, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hrmm, there is no automatic changes tab on the version I got. What version are you using? I have it set to ONLY watch IP edits, but it is still showing every single thing. Moves, deletes, warnings, discussions, everything. lol. Maybe I got the wrong version? Ariel♥Gold23:40, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I have the first one on the list as well, and did click save. Now the whole thing is going nuts, flashing any time anything is added, lol. Ugh. I'm going to get a seizure! I may just stick with the IRC thing, it is a ton of bot code to filter through, but probably won't give me a stroke. :D Ariel♥Gold23:57, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, I'll see if my Java is needing tweaking, if not I'll just go back to IRC. :) Ariel♥Gold
I noticed you reverted twice [1], [2] the very appropriate deletion of nonsense content to that article. What should have been reverted was the introduction of those completely unsourced sections [3]. Please read before reverting. —AldeBaer (c) 13:35, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To give you an impression: You reverted back to a version that contained the following bits:
"-Cranberry has the worst fireworks display in America"
"-Many local establishments are owned by Arabs/Indians ( no one can tell the difference )"
Thanks for your note. Although I read what I revert, it is not completely excluded that I make a mistake. And the blank left edit summary in conjunction with the same reverts made by others did the rest. Again, thanks for your note :) --Oxymoron8321:19, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mistakes happen to all of us. I just noticed that you and two others had reverted back to that version several times over, so I decided to notify you. —AldeBaer (c) 15:05, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for cleaning up that mess on my userpage; a few minutes before, I tried to clean up yours but you had already done it :-)
On a different subject: I created an account on the German Wikipedia today here, and seeing that there were a few town articles for places in the USA, created a couple of small ones for places near where I live: Belle Center and Rushsylvania. Could you check them out and see if they're properly formatted according to the German Wikipedia's guidelines? Thanks! Nyttend23:39, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your contributions to the German Wikipedia. I will have a closer look on it later today (it's past 2 o'clock here); but it looks good at a first view (especially as you're de-0). --Oxymoron8300:09, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Oxymoron83, I just saw your note to '71.131.12.189' (which apparently is my IP address) when I was looking around on Wiki, but not logged in. I went to see what those contributions were, figuring that I may have made some comments while forgetting to log in, but I saw the edits were on a page for a band called "The Number 12 Looks Like You" or something like that. I have no idea what that is, and I didn't make those edits. Is there some kind of IP address hi-jacking happening? JSDA21:01, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think this is very simple: You use a dynamic ip address, everytime you get connected with the internet you are assigned a new ip address. And someone else used this ip address on 13 July. --Oxymoron8309:29, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
More of German Wikipedia
Thanks for looking it over! The reason I've been able to do as I have is that I've copy/pasted sections from elsewhere: for example, the Rushsylvania Demografische Daten section was copied from the similar section in the Logan County article and new data inserted from the English article on Rushsylvania. I'd like to see them expanded, but I'm not sure on how to source them; however, I'll try to work at it later. Thanks for your offer of continued help!
I had one question about Quinter: by Kansas law it's a city, even though it's so small. In situations like this, where the official title is somewhat unrealistic, is it the normal practise of the German Wikipedia to use the official title and call it a city, or to call it what it really is, a small town? Nyttend14:24, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I know it sounds rather odd for Quinter to be a city; in my native Ohio, a place five times as big as Quinter wouldn't be considered a city, and it sounds somewhat pretentious, but that's the way they do it there. Thanks for helping to explain policy; I have to be careful with things like this, since I can't read policy pages written in German :-) Nyttend06:08, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A very happy Wiki morning to you! I'm getting the hang of VF! lol. I still use IRC though as my baby blanket, lol. Ariel♥Gold11:55, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anti-vandalism
Thanks for reverting the vandalism to my user page. But I think he found a way around it because he left you a very nasty reply. I've spoken with an administrator and he says that it's possible to block "entire" I.P. address. --Ghostexorcist16:33, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No problem concerning the revert. I don't know if you had known that a blocked user is allowed to (exclusively) write on his talk page (until that one is protected), that's why he was able to leave the comment. --Oxymoron8318:41, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just tagged it because I saw what appeared to gratuitous linking bordering on vandalism, and then a speedy delete tag on the talk page. So I just whacked the WP:INA project tag on it as I didn't want to see the image deleted by mistake. But, I have no strong opinion on whether the tag should be there, just as long as we keep the image. kind regards --Merbabu07:25, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for doing this checking :-) I've been busy, as I go back to university tomorrow, so I've done very little in German. No questions. Nyttend12:53, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'd like help on the English Wikipedia. Please read the bottom comment on my talk page, entitled "Removing Alumni Again": is is it a personal attack? Thanks for your time. Nyttend00:25, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As Dreaded Walrus said, those are personal attacks; if he hadn't left the comment on Bmstephany's talk page, I would've done so. Nyttend, well done not to allow him to provoke you, also with the other comments Bmstephany made. I will keep an eye on him. --Oxymoron8311:54, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I was checking the history, but you'd already reverted to the right version. If this continues, possibly a page protection is required. --Oxymoron8322:55, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A semi protection indeed, I was going to do it but the problem is these jokers'll be gone by the time anyone responds. Best wishes, SqueakBox22:59, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on User:LordSkane, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because User:LordSkane is a nonsense redirect page formed as a result of the reversion of page move vandalism (CSD G3).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting User:LordSkane, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.CSDWarnBot18:03, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Wondering
Oops, my bad. My edit was in reference to User talk:81.145.242.107, who had not been warned. In the interval between my warning and making the comment, another admin blocked that IP address. I missed the change in IP numbers and left the comment.
I wanted to ask for that the same moment. That would be fine. I think 8 hours for the talk page are enough atm. Thank you :) --Oxymoron8323:13, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I have an uneasy feeling if it is protected for a too long period of time as ips aren't able to inform me about false reverts (although there was no need to in the past) ;) --Oxymoron8323:35, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did an ip whois on the guy who you were just in a vandalism war with, and came across this. All of the IP's point to the same guy. Is it any form of policy to use that abuse e-mail to deal with this problem more permanently? Just trying to help. Gscshoyru23:22, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I believe it's perfectly acceptable (even encouraged) to go after these idiots. I've got to sign off right now, but a thread on ANI might help you get results from others that have dealt with vandalism more/longer than I. My block log is filled with this guy's IPs.
