Discussing your edits

Hi Operator873. I see you recently reverted my edits with respect to the classification of Falun Gong as 'modern' (notice that I was actually doing a partial revert of a change made a few days ago). You're correct that the practice was first publicly taught in 1992, which is certainly modern. But perhaps you missed the fact that it claims an ancient lineage. Some 'qigong' practices in China (much like yogic practices in India) date back millennia, having been passed down orally through generations of masters and disciples, typically in private. Falun Gong claims a similar lineage, and this is not a claim that we can test one way or another. Therefore, just as we would avoid buying into the branding of Falun Gong as an ancient practice, we should also avoid unilaterally declaring it a modern practice. Best to remain agnostic. @2607:FEA8:A6A0:E42:2C97:AE7D:6731:EFC1: I understand that "qigong" is an ancient practice. I also understand "Falun Gong" identifies with and claims connection to qigong. However, that claim doesn't make itself ancient. Case in point, would we refer to a modern hammer as an ancient tool since our ancestors used rocks as hammers? Falun Gong is a modern development based on an ancient concept. I'd suggest further discussion take place on the talk page. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia and don't be afraid to be bold! @Ponyo: I truly appreciate the oversight you provide in this environment. I was working an unusual overnight shift and wasn't at the best of my game at the time. I had intended to accept the change, then add this [1] article as a source for the change. I apparently was distracted and forgot to add it. At this point, I believe it's a moot issue though as there have been additional edits since then. As a general rule of habit, I try to verify changes and add sources to the change, if it is accurate. Just to let you know, I DID leave an accurate edit summary as to why I removed content from Major film studio ("Removed unnecessary reference for LGE, as LGE is no longer listed as Lionsgate's parent"; FYI, LGE=Lions Gate Entertainment). It's not my fault that you didn't see that LGE was removed from the table as the studio parent for Lionsgate Films & replaced with Lions Gate Motion Picture Group. I am new to editing wikipedia, so this was somewhat of an experiment. I removed the "T.S. Eliot attending Milton Academy" entry because that belongs on the school's alumni list, not the town's list of notable residents. T.S. Eliot was from St. Louis and resided in England. It seems like a bit of a cheap stretch to claim him as a resident if he only boarded at Milton Academy for a few years.
