In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.
If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Counties in township titles
I noticed that back in 2008 you added counties into article title for townships in several states, with edit summary (Included county name for consistency). This was probably before WP:USPLACE was settled, right? I think it suggests (strongly) that the county should not be there unless needed for disambiguation. Do you know whether fixing these to the recommended format has been discussed? Looks like it would be a lot of work, but possibly amenable to automation. Dicklyon (talk) 03:01, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I still feel very strongly, for several reasons, that the county name should in fact be included in township article names. Omnedon (talk) 04:19, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not to re-start the whole discussion, but one very simple reason for this is that in US states, townships are subdivisions of counties (just as counties are subdivisions of states). It's not just a question of consistency. Omnedon (talk) 05:42, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Searching for "Toll Gate Heights" brings up no significant coverage, and the obvious alternate form of "Tollgate Heights" brings up only a newspaper mention in a list of neighborhoods containing apartment buildings. No indication that WP:GEOLAND or WP:GNG is met here.

Civil township maps - How to do this?
Hello,
You created several of the Civil Township pages for the state of Iowa back in the 2007/2008 time frame. I am in the process of trying to add "infobox settlement" information to other townships. I would really like to include something like the SVG maps that you created but it isn't clear to me how to go about that. Would you be willing to share the details? There are 1599 civil townships in Iowa, so clearly an automated map generatio process is needed.
Thanks! GrandpaDave (talk) 01:08, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies for the delay. I used some custom scripts to create those maps, and might be able to do so again... I'll check into it. I do still have the code. It uses freely-available USGS data. Omnedon (talk) 15:57, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
