Orphaned non-free image (File:RoseMedicalCenterLogo.gif)You've uploaded File:RoseMedicalCenterLogo.gif, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted. This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:15, 7 January 2009 (UTC) Purple House PressYes, Space Child's Mother Goose is one of the ones I've bought from them. :-) That, Tall, Mr. Bear, and one other, I think....--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 16:21, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Martin MeylinA tag has been placed on Martin Meylin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding Fforest FawrYou've classed Fforest Fawr under woodlands & forests of Wales - understandable but incorrect. Fforest Fawr is not and never was a forest or wood , the term refers to the former royal hunting forest where 'forest' simply means an area set aside for hunting. I fact Fforest fawr is one of the least wooded areas of Wales. It might however be worth classifying it under ranges of hills I guess Notice Fforest fach has been treated similarly - the same comments apply though not a range so much as a single hill in this case!.
Elizabeth Ames JonesErr, no problem. If you do Speedy Deletion Patrol, you'll end up finding ~1/2 of all A7 noms are no good, it's not surprising. If you interacted with someone via OTRS, though, that wasn't me. WilyD 14:01, 15 January 2009 (UTC) Brad SchoenfeldNotability of Brad SchoenfeldA tag has been placed on Brad Schoenfeld requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article. If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bearian (talk) 22:49, 4 February 2009 (UTC) Orphaned non-free media (File:HilltopBaptistSchoolLogo.png)Thanks for uploading File:HilltopBaptistSchoolLogo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:02, 3 March 2009 (UTC) Replaceable fair use Image:Elin Ek.jpgThanks for uploading Image:Elin Ek.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself. If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — neuro(talk)(review) 15:24, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
File copyright problem with File:Youkickmydog1999animation.pngThank you for uploading File:Youkickmydog1999animation.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. J Milburn (talk) 11:04, 3 July 2009 (UTC) I noticed that you started to try to fix this page. I have read it twice now and it seems to me to be more of a personal promotional page, written by Jack Blum, rather than through a third party lens. Under the circumstances, I am wondering if the page is appropriate for Wikipedia in its current form, and perhaps should be sidelined until a third party is prepared to relaunch it. I don't know what else to do beyond expressing my sentiments here. Dreadarthur (talk) 14:07, 14 August 2009 (UTC) Jean Villard GillesAppreciating your categorizing. I haven't been active for quite some time, that's what having a kid will do to you. I appreciate you cleaning this article up. Brian Muha was a good friend of mine for about ten years, and it was a horrible tragedy what happened to him and Aaron. At first it was argumentative I guess whether the article was encyclopedic, however all feelings aside, I think you've touched on just what in fact does make it so. So I appreciate the job well done, and take care. -Stubbleboy (talk) 07:22, 7 November 2009 (UTC) AfD nomination of James GornallAn article that you have been involved in editing, James Gornall, has been listed for deletion. Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. G I created the above articles as part of WP:NEWT. Thanks for coming by and wikifying them and adding categories. Since they were articles created by a supposedly new user, I wonder if it would have been helpful to leave that new user a note about using sources? Perhaps a message could have been left on the talk page of the article as well, explaining this serious deficiency? What do you think? Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC). Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here. If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. It would be nice if he was labeled in Wiki accurately Can you please restore it to exactly how it was or provide reason for changing it ? Thank you Jolyon Yates 13:11, 3 August 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jolyonyates (talk • contribs)
Dear Oddharmonic - Why did you choose architect and not artist ? You can not know that at this time there is significant interest in Peter Yates as an artist. What about changing the chapters around ? There appears to be a new chapter called "death and afterward" - a title that is very odd - which contains only the date of death. I see no advantage in this change. This change is also not logged in the change notes. I realise the need to edit articles in order to make them clearer and more correct, but these changes appear to me to make the article less clear and less correct With Kind Regards, Jolyon —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jolyonyates (talk • contribs) 21:11, 4 August 2010 (UTC) Defunct Company--Not DefunctPlease do not modify an article about a company, to call it defunct, without first attempting to contact the organization. One phone call or email is all it would have taken to verify that the company was still in operation. This is a bit like categorizing a singer on tour as a dead musician. Delivered by SDZeroBot (talk) 01:01, 18 November 2024 (UTC) Replaceable non-free use File:GebhardRichfieldBuilding.jpgThanks for uploading File:GebhardRichfieldBuilding.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject). If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 21:59, 14 January 2025 (UTC) |
