User talk:OWGNicholasMay 2022Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Assassin's Creed Odyssey, you may be blocked from editing. Please immediately stop with your removal of the open-world category from video games enmass without explaination. -- ferret (talk) 02:20, 4 May 2022 (UTC) You have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for persistently making disruptive edits. OWGNicholas (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I am not being disruptive i am being stricter than i have been in recent years. If a game isn’t listed as open-world on the official website, or the publishers or developers websites, my plan is to remove it and start an in depth discussion about it. Essentially I am reworking the category to remove the clutter. And then analyzing everything that must be analyzed. There are many games that are just added willy nilly. I’ve been policing this category for almost a decade, and I’ e been meaning to do this for a while but haven’t had the time to do so. A lot of these games were also added by me in prior years when i was less strict about things, but since then, my OCD has gotten worse and if things aren’t done a certain way, then the entire system is messed up and unfortunately, theres no vetting process in place for games that aren’t supported by official sources so thats my goal, to create such a process. I would use my sandbox for this but I cannot do so because there isn’t a way to edit categories there. NickWX28 (talk) 02:35, 4 May 2022 (UTC) Decline reason: You followed through on your threat below to engage in sock puppetry. I blocked your sock puppet, User:NJRWX. I'm in a good mood, so I'm not going to indef this account. But if you create any more sock puppets, my good mood will be ruined. Also, in case I have to be explicit about this, don't use User:Nickr0428 or User:ECW28 to evade your current block. Well then remove it Ferret so I can edit my user page instead with the changes and outline I wanna make as a base template. And as i said, the point isn’t to remove things, its to start discussions on things. If not I’ll just use one of my older accounts to do so. NickWX28 (talk) 02:44, 4 May 2022 (UTC)

FireflyBot (talk) 22:02, 29 May 2022 (UTC) Your draft article, Draft:Rakuyou (song)Hello, NickWX28. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Rakuyou". In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it. Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 22:29, 27 June 2022 (UTC) Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep@Ferret I actually tried to start a discussion about this on the talk page for Birth by Sleep months ago but nothing got going. I'll just ask it here. "The problem with bringing such an open world series as Kingdom Hearts to the PSP is that you’re restricted in what you can achieve with the hardware." - Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Review - PlayStation Universe (psu.com) I was wondering if this is sufficient enough to add it to the category. It is however the only review I could find which mentions it. NickWX28 (talk) 02:43, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Unblock Request

OWGNicholas (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I haven’t edited the open-world category since May of last year. Haven’t been really focused on it. Today, I added the category to The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard explaining in my edit summary that the gameplay section already has the source I am using as reasoning. https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/the-elder-scrolls-adventures-redguard-review/1900-2532772/ Ferret saw that and that I made some punctuation corrections (which something I didn’t know is that commas aren’t included). He assumed, wrongly, that I was making more disruptive edits. I gave a valid reason and source for the edit I made. The punctuation ones were simply me correcting what I thought were punctuation errors. I believe blocking me for thay is a bit overkill considering the fact that I haven’t actually touched any of the articles in over a year and the fact that I have been at least trying to make other contributions to the gaming articles by requesting articles for creation and providing sources. Special:Contributions/24.47.203.20 Ferret also mistook what i said about emailing publishers as me using those emails as the source when I explicitly told him that those emails are NOT what i used as the source, that they just allow me to narrow down which games to focus on acquiring sources FOR. I understand why I was blocked prior, due to distuptive edits. However, the edit i made today was not disruptive, as I did use a source to verify my edit. And as can be seen in the requests section, i have been providing sources as well, even if they aren’t enough to merit a separate article. I do believe Ferret was quick to rush to judgment on this and I do not blame him, however, I have NOT been disruptive at all this past year and I am NOT going to start now. If Ferret only reverted the edit *because* of me, thats kinda disruptive in and of itself. If he reverted it for being unsourced, i provided the source or at least stated where it was referenced. And if hes not convinced by that source I am open to discussion on that one. There are many ways to actually talk about it before resorting to an extreme. I also told Ferret clearly that one of the main reasons I am on Wikipedia is to help make sure gaming articles are accurate and it just so happens to be that i play mostly open-world games so those are the ones i know the most about and spend the most time researching and trying to improve. Ferret also mistakenly said I have been blocked 4-6 times for this which is untrue. I was blocked once on my ECW account for it. Was never blocked on Dovahkiin. And the only time this account has been blocked is last May. Ferret did warn me about the indefinite block, but that also is unfair considering that you can’t just band someone from liking something or wanting to help improve something they like. I like open-world games. I also like anime and manga, and hurricanes, but those articles are already complete as is. If I could I would add chapter to episode lists for manga but thats about the only thing other than gaming I’m interested in improving. In the past, I may have been disruptive at times but I was always doing it with the intent of making it the best it can be. Not maliciously. And now, I have absolutely learned that everything must be sourced on Wikipedia, and am not going to add anything (unless its like small punctuation or grammatical corrections) without either finding a source or referencing one that’s already in existence.OWGNicholas (talk) 02:59, 3 June 2023 (UTC) Decline reason: "I do believe Ferret was quick to rush to judgment on this"; you're kidding, right? You've had several warnings and a previous block. Nothing quick about it. You aren't blocked because you like the topic, you are blocked for disruption. Nothing I see here convinces me that the disruption will not resume, so I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:34, 3 June 2023 (UTC) If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. OWGNicholas (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: Its been about a month and a half. Honestly haven’t been too concerned with worrying about editing. I understand how I messed up and going forward will try to be more constructive. Including joining the discord for further discussion. I do not intend to actively edit stuff as it just feeds into my OCD and perfectionism with things, but I still wanna be apart of the community, and a helpful part at that. Not even bothering to log in for this. I kinda scrambled my password and deleted it so that I wouldn’t be tempted to login until I was certain about things, and to give myself a break from obsessively editing and trying to make things perfect. 24.47.203.20 (talk) 00:19, 26 July 2023 (UTC) Decline reason: You need to do this while logged in. OWGNicholas (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: Please see the prior section. I want to acknowledge that I will mostly be using my IP address going forward. And no I have not used that to evade my block, unlike what Mr. Clase presumed. I have not made any edits using my IP address, other than editing my own talk page here in order to request being unblocked. If i want to make a major change, then yeah, I will login. But other than that i only intend on making small changes here and there whenever i catch them, which is rarely. It mostly has to do with effort. Logging in is a process and to make a simple correction here and there, my IP suffices for that. And thats been how I’ve used it when i was unblocked. IP for relatively quick things, actual account for major things. OWGNicholas (talk) 15:58, 26 July 2023 (UTC) Decline reason: In your unblock request, you need to convince the reviewing admin that you understand why you were blocked, and will not repeat the conduct that got you blocked. You fail to provide the necessary information in this unblock request, and your vague reference to the prior section does not suffice. In your next unblock request, try to be convincing. Talk page accessRegarding your email, I have modified your IP's block settings so that you can edit this page while logged into your account, as I did not intend to restrict that. OWGNicholas (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log)) Request reason: I understand where I went wrong before. I was being disruptive about my editing even though I had good intentions. I think part of the reason is because I’m very OCD about structure and stuff. I was trying to make the Open-world category a “one stop” source of info where people could just go to it and confirm that a game is or isn’t open-world. And part of that is that, I do enjoy open-world games. A lot. I’m a huge Bethesda Game Studios stan, lol. But i was trying to make it up to the standards I had set, and I got carried away in the process and for that, I am sorry. As for the multiple accounts thing, i created this one iirc, but when I did, I wasn’t aware that users had the ability to change their usernames. I am constantly changing mine to match what I go by on other platforms: PlayStation, Twitter, Discord, etc. So I tend to go through a lot of different ones especially because I am indecisive about them. However, I do acknowledge that in a past convo with ferret, I said I would make another account to edit. And I apologize for that. I was frustrated at the time and speaking out of pure frustration. And I understand completely that ban evasion is frowned upon and haven’t done that with the intention of evading bans. Just to update my username. I have mentioned prior that I know now that i can update my username without making a new account. I am sorry for my prior actions and will be better about them in the future. I do wish to contribute more to the tropical cyclones sections, because I am interested in that. And noticed someone made a mistake on one of the pages.OWGNicholas (talk) 23:09, 1 December 2023 (UTC) Accept reason: I accept this on the condition that you stop fucking around with logged-out editing. Do NOT edit without making sure you are logged in. Do NOT create alternate accounts, whether out of frustration or anything else. OK? Happy editing. Drmies (talk) 23:00, 6 January 2024 (UTC) "I understand completely that ban evasion is frowned upon and haven’t done that with the intention of evading bans". Obviously false, see Special:Contributions/24.47.203.20. OWGNicholas, you have no chance of being unblocked while you are attempting to mislead us. For your sake, I very very strongly urge you to remove that from your unblock request. You may also want to address your behaviour over at User talk:24.47.203.20 which showed, as of August 2023, you were fundamentally incompatible with Wikipedia. I say this honestly; there's a reasonable chance you could convince us you understand how terrible your behaviour was, four months ago, and how you'll take a completely different approach going forward. --Yamla (talk) 12:14, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
