Welcome!
Native Americans in the United StatesPlease be careful. You incorrectly changed a direct quotation in this article and one from no less than Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Rmhermen (talk) 17:03, 31 March 2021 (UTC) Change of English usageYou need to learn that US usage is not the norm on Wikipedia, and where other varieties have been customarily used they should not be changed. See MOS:RETAIN. Sweetpool50 (talk) 18:34, 1 April 2021 (UTC) Change of English usageHello Sweetpool50, That you for your clarification, particularly the helpful link. I will be mindful of this in the future. Best regards, --ORSfan (talk) 11:33, 2 April 2021 (UTC) Please don't...Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - DVdm (talk) 15:44, 13 April 2021 (UTC) Note, there is no need to mass-alter serial comma styles in articles. On the contrary, see MOS:SERIAL: "Editors may use either convention so long as each article is internally consistent." See also MOS:STYLERET. So please stop making these edits. Also try to pay attention to the structure of sentences. Regarding this edit: "Lieutenant General Sir George Prevost, Governor General of Canada and commander in chief in North America, was preparing". Cheers. - DVdm (talk) 15:44, 13 April 2021 (UTC) Hello, DVdm - Thank you for your guidance. I will follow your direction going forward. ORSfan (talk) 15:58, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Note: Please stop making bad edits such as the one I had to undo here. - DVdm (talk) 18:31, 21 April 2021 (UTC) DVdm - You appear to have reverted some of my edits that had nothing to do with style, but rather correct grammar. The proper use of "which" and "that" is not related to a style preference, in my opinion. Nor are proper subject-verb agreements. I would expect you to revert "A bus and a car was seen on the street", to "A car and a bus were seen on the street," for example. Have I misunderstood the purpose of your edits? ORSfan (talk) 19:39, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
Please stopA number of editors seem to be suggesting you do not seem to know what you are doing. I just fixed four of your "improvements", and am of the opinion that copyediting is not something you are skilled at. Please consider contributing to Wikipedia in a way that does not involve English grammar or sentence construction. Thanks for your understanding. Magnolia677 (talk) 15:07, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
