Leslie S. Hodgson

address correction for a Utah NRHP-listed place

Hi Ntsimp, i noticed this diff, and i commented briefly at wp:NRIS info issues UT#Street address issues, and see you replied there already. I wasn't remembering if u used the wp:NRIS info issues system or not; the wp:NRIS info issues UT Utah one was not on my watchlist; i see in fact you do. Yes, the system has been kind of a black hole, just receiving notes and not anything being done for it. Just having it as a central recording place does provide a service already, however. It documents our reasons for changing addresses etc., allowing us to deal with editors arriving with "corrections" back the other way, based on NRIS or mirror sites http://www.nationalregisterofhistoricplaces.com.

I tried previously to report several batches of Ohio items, working with Nyttend, a while ago, but the National Register contact person assigned may have disappeared, anyhow did not respond to my followups. I would like to try again, to report information for a different state where there was an interested editor who would participate in correspondence and followup, e.g. if they prove we are wrong about one matter, to make the correction in the wikipedia article. Would you be willing to be that person to participate, if I started again, with Utah? No corrections for Utah have ever been submitted, unless there were any National Historic Landmark ones (where i did submit corrections and they were implemented). I will aim higher in the staff hierarchy at the National Register, in a new start using Utah, if you are interested. If interested, though, to participate fully in the correspondence, a practical requirement would be that we would have to share our emails and probably our real names and location info with them and each other, as I think it works best if we would correspond with them as real people. If the privacy loss is a problem, I'll just start up for some other state, sometime this summer. No problem either way. --do ncr am 17:27, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi Ntsimp,

I have seen that you do a lot with Utah articles. I have been watching an article (The Winter Sports School in Park City) and I think I have been looking at it too long. Would you mind looking at it for me? I have added a NPOV tag, but the article's only editor has removed/disputed it. I don't do a lot with Wikipedia anymore, so I am not up on the latest way to resolve these things, but I do know the article needs at least one other person to give it a good read, since it doesn't get a lot of outside editing attention. Henry Mountains Bison

Not sure what my edits "messed up" in terms of units. All I did was set the conversions to WikiPedia defaults, and the only visual change (I think) is that acres are now hectares (which is the default, and the unit used more often for land areas). Donlammers (talk) 12:59, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

New NRHP listing in Davis County, UT

Hi Ntsimp ... in case you weren't already aware of it, new Utah NRHP listings were announced today:

Davis County: Farmington Main Street Historic District (Approximately Main St. from 200 South to 600 North, along 600 North to Park Lane and 100 North from Main St to 100 West)
Morgan County: Morgan Union Pacific Depot (98 N. Commercial St.)

Not wikihounding or anything, but I didn't say that. I said WP:PLACE#United States is only about titles, and that is true. I understand your preference, having read your FAQ. My preference is different. You were bold, and I reverted. It's quite clear that you won't change your mind, so I don't know about discussing. I intend to maintain the status quo on Utah articles, which are mostly on my watchlist, but I don't intend to follow you. My position is that I don't want to require anglophone Wikipedia readers to have memorized the 50 states. I certainly appreciate the same courtesy on articles about places outside the US; I don't know much about Canadian provinces, or whatever divisions they have in the UK. Anyway, I know you go through a lot of discussion about this and are adamant, so I guess that's all I have to say. Ntsimp (talk) 20:12, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Wendell and Allen Jacobson

This is the largest PONZI and fraud ever uncovered in the state of UTAH. These 2 men and the business that was involved lived according to the Federal Government complaint in FOUNTAIN GREEN, Sanpete County UTAH. This qualifies that as NOTABLE in that community.

Stromquist House

Since you marked Don M Stromquist House as an nrhp, can you supply any information why it was marked. I cannot find it in the county list and other common sources.
