User talk:Northern WonderWelcome to Wikipedia!Hello, Northern Wonder. Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. My name is Howicus, and I've been an editor here for some time. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:
If you're working on creating a new article, you should take a look at this page on your first article. Also, this page has instructions on how to cite sources, complete with videos. If all this Wikicode is a little overwhelming, this cheatsheet may help untangle it. If you're looking for a tutorial of sorts, The Wikipedia Adventure is a good option. And if you need more help, I'd recommend getting live help at the Wikipedia help chat channel: click here to join. Additionally, you could ask me on my talk page, try the Teahouse (a help page for new users) or click here to ask for help here on your talk page and a volunteer will visit you here shortly Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:
Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:26, 15 June 2015 (UTC) June 2015Hello, I'm MusikAnimal. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Headingley Stadium with this edit, without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. — MusikAnimal talk 19:11, 23 June 2015 (UTC) This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Headingley Carnegie Cricket Stadium, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.touristlink.com/england/Headingley-carnegie-cricket-ground/overview.html. It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues. If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. CorenSearchBot (talk) 21:21, 23 June 2015 (UTC) Proposed move of The Treble (rugby league)Hello, I was wondering if the page should perhaps be moved to "List of rugby teams which have won the Treble" since it is more about the teams and less about the actual concept. Relabelling will make the purpose of the article clearer. Also, it could use some sources. Nice article apart from that. Happy Squirrel (talk) 01:24, 7 July 2015 (UTC) Wikipedia and copyrightHello Northern Wonder, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, British rugby league dominance. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Rugby Football League Championship. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Rugby Football League Championship – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page. If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Bazj (talk) 20:12, 19 January 2016 (UTC) Disambiguation link notification for February 3Hi. It appears that you tried to give AJ Bell Stadium a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history. In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. KGirlTrucker81 huh? what I'm been doing 21:07, 24 September 2016 (UTC) I have undone your cut-and-paste moveHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Broughton Rangers a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Manchester Rangers. Shovon (talk) 16:37, 29 December 2016 (UTC) The Bulls and a phoenixThere is no rush to create an article for a club who, as yet, don't exist or even have any guarantee will exist. Yes, the RFL will place a club in the Championship but it needs someone to come forward with the money and the plans to create a club from scratch. Once there is then we can report it and expand on it but don't jump the gun by assuming Smith will stay on a coach or even at this stage if they will play at Odsal. I'm not going to propose Bradford RLFC for deletion as by the time any discussion is concluded there, hopefully, will be a club but don't expand it without things that have been confirmed, not just speculated on. Nthep (talk) 18:56, 4 January 2017 (UTC) Please stop jumping the gun. Two things, first, it is established practice to put the town and region in club infoboxes along with the stadium. If you wish that to change, I suggest you head back to WP:RL and get a consensus for change that would apply to all RL club infoboxes. Second, I'm not really bothered either way about having the club colours written next to the template in the infoboxes. Only problem with removing it from one article is you'd need to remove it from all of them really. That's SL, Champ, L1, NRL... literally all clubs that have it. I wouldn't oppose that, but others might, so you may end up getting sent to WP:RL again for a consensus discussion. Removing Flags in European current templatesHello there, I have been asked by another member of WPRL to widen the conversation on "Flags in European current templates", in the hope to gain a wider consensus. I imagine that this message may well never be read, dismissed, see me lose support, potentially gain some or take the discussion forwards. Please do take the time to read the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Rugby_league#Flags_in_squad_templates if you can, but the crux of my position is that the flags are prevalent elsewhere, are consistent with usage by the MOS, and their implementation for their rugby league national squad/team or representative nationality, is in line with their intended purpose. The crux of the remove side would be an IP editor may interpret a flag as indication of birth, give too much credence to the nation, and the decision was made previously. To remove them from all rugby league templates when there is a limited conversation would seem more than a little unfair I would say, hence the attempt to reach out. I'm quite happy to voted down, but would appreciate a few more voices to the discussion, else it would seem quite wrong to move from the majority into the minority.Fleets (talk) 19:51, 13 July 2017 (UTC) Orphaned non-free image File:2015 super league grand final logo.jpgThanks for uploading File:2015 super league grand final logo.jpg. We have notes explaing that in seasons 1 and 2 there was no Grand Final and league leaders were declared champions and that the shield was not awarded until 2003 and teams shown before that are the teams who would have won it. So saying a league leaders shield is not applicable for the first two seasons is hypocritical to these two points. On a separate note, please refrain from removing Wakefield from the list of current teams until the season has finished. They are still a Super League side for the time being. Also clarification on how promotion works should be included? Mn1548 (talk) 19:00, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

As previously discussed re Super League the List of British rugby league league leaders is a list of British rugby league leagues leaders, not a list of British rugby league leagues leaders but only when there was playoffs used. If you want to re add all regular season runners-up that is fine, but DO NOT remove league leaders that were declared champions due to the absence of playoffs. Mn1548 (talk) 14:55, 7 October 2023 (UTC) Your contributed article, RFL League One
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, RFL League One. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – RFL League 1. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at RFL League 1. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page. If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. –Davey2010Talk 15:25, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 06:10, 31 October 2023 (UTC) I really do not understand what's going on here. The scope of this list is CLEARLY DEFINED in the lead. You open a discussion on the talk page of the article to which I have responded to which you have ignored only to change the scope of the article again. The article is simply a list of British rugby league league leaders, not a list of league leaders when rule X or format Y is in place, just a plain simple list of British rugby league leaders in all regular seasons, as suggested by the title and defined in lead, end of. If you think the lead can better explain this then feel free to make edits, but DO NOT completely change the article. Especially if you're going to add hypocrisies and overcomplications like your last edits on that page. Mn1548 (talk) 23:25, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

Delivered by SDZeroBot (talk) 01:02, 13 May 2024 (UTC) Rugby League World CupI don't know how many times this conversation has been had on Wikipedia. Writing England/Scotland/Wales/Northern Ireland/Ireland as listed hosts is NOT inline with other tournaments. Hosts are listed inline with the nations recognised by the global government body of the sport. Look at the Summer Olympics there is a UK flag next London 2012 not an England flag because the UK is the IOC nation not England. This was the case in rugby league too until 1995 when the home nations got individual affiliation with the IRL, thus prior to this the UK was the IRL nation. Wikipedia should be reflecting this so as to avoid recentism. Mn1548 (talk) 11:22, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
Rugby League World Cup (again)Look, it's fair enough if you think the RR v SF needs to be explicity mentioned in the table and the note doesn't cover it, but using that as a cover to alter other things that has already been established is not on. Also, you need to be more careful with your editing as like last time you've left missing cells and row/colspans that don't line up which have needed fixing. If you would like to discuss further, please do it here or in an appropriate talk page. Thankyou. Mn1548 (talk) 09:55, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
