S/stub tags

Hallo, Thanks for adding {{Stub}} to Alumide: I've now stub-sorted it to {{material-stub}}. An article on a number

Writing an article on a non-notable high number is a joke. It's really pointless as consensus would suggest to delete the article. If everyone else were to say "keep" you'd have a point. It's been four months, but to clarify: When a side the article was "A JOKE" it implied that having an article full of calculations for that large number was pointless in my opinion. It would have been more appropiate to convert it into a zip code article. Basedon inclusion criteria, if the location was not notable the page could be marked as a stub or redirected to the state the zip code was located. The reference is there for RC's having to not compete, but the reference makes no mention of Tom or Ashley that was added by Penner1234. The last time I voted, I voted solely on the experience factor and your willingness to contribute to article-related stuff such as protections and deletions. When I vote I usually look at what the candidate is willing to do, so I had reason to support. However the incident concerns me because during that incident you used policy to keep people who you had conflicted off WP, while masquerading to other as someone uninvolved. I would gladly support if you're willing to stick to the stuff on article and if your have to report and block, you either use good judgement or ask another sysop. Clearly, getting the tools under your current name is going to be a difficult process. There are too many people who painfully remember the incident and nothing is going to change their minds.
I do think that opposers who feel you should be banned are being somewhat extreme, though. If you can stay away from these people and just contribute to articles then there is no reason for a former ban. NintendoFan (Talk, Contribs) 22:21, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If I understand you correctly, you are saying that you have looked into issues beyond experience and willingness to contribute, and are more concerned over those topis, yes? You are right that I misused the policy back then, through I'd like to point out that the entirety of any admin abuse was a single semi-protection against IPs I did upon being asked for it (canvassed, yes); after it was undone it was quickly reinstanted by a neutral admin (for diffs, please see here). Anyway, if I get the tools back, I certainly would be even more cautious with them than I were in the past. Is there anything you'd like to inquire about further, or have me clarify? I'm given you my support. My concern stems from seeing good editors like Kiefer.Wolfowitz get banned for poor interactions with others and administrators (who I will not name) misuse their privilege to get people who they've personally feuded with banned through offline interaction. If you're going to get back your privileges, then you have to show you won't fall to your mistake again because if you lose them again the odds of getting them back are as good as winning ten Super Bowls in a row. I fully agree that we are using blocks too much, where topic bans and other tailored restrictiosn would suffice. I wrote a mini-essay on this here. For what's it worth, even during the EEML times I never wanted to see our opponents blocked, only reformed. With the declining participation rate, keeping people away from this project is the last thing we need, we need to recruit and retain more editors. Loosing Kiefer is unfortunate, btw; I was always on good terms with him. I wish I could've helped him more.   • I agree with that blocks are too excessive. The time has come to propose rules as how much time a block should last and place a restriction on indef blocks being given out for the first time. The blocking user would be warned to notify the target user about the behaviour and then allow it if the warning is ignored. Good vandal-fighting involves cleaning up the page, notifying the vandal user, and only blocking when the vandal is persistent.
  • In terms of banning, there should be a process where each ban proposal is reviewed and finalized by the Arbitration Committee and a time is determined. If there is consensus to ban then an arbitration case can be open to determine the proper sanctions.
  • When I went neutral, I knew you're nomination was going to be like 50/50 and not have enough to succeed. You're best bet might be to consider a name-change so the people who know you on bad terms won't be so quick to oppose. New users

If you're having to erase the greeting "You are a prick" from a new user's comment (which you should absolutely not be doing), they probably aren't here to help the encyclopedia. (For context, the deleted page wasn't just a non-existent template floating in a vacuum, it was a named WP:ATTACK page with silly stuff in the broken infobox, and most likely a schoolkid cracking jokes about a friend.)

If you think it would help to respond to the banned user "just in case he comes back", you should do that on the user's talk page instead of restoring a deleted thread on someone else's. @McGeddon:. I think the user was frustrated with you being persistant in trying to get the page deleted. When I saw that page, it only had the redlinked template and nothing else. The page was deleted so I don't know what content was in the page to make it an attack on someone else. If that's the case, then the user should be blocked. The user was blocked, indefinitely; you added a comment below that block message on their talk page. @McGeddon: You were right for tagging, it just seems the user was not happy at the article being deleted. The one thing I disagree with is the intent of the page. The user's only other two edits were to change kids' TV articles to add material about "German fetish porn" and something about a "retarded" character voiced by an actor with the same name as... the "Mexican warlord" they created an article about. But new editors getting blocked for vandalism is a classic case of how experienced editors deal with newcomers when their edits are vandalism. Unfortunately, most of the content this person is removing across the Athari, Hanbali and Al-Hasan ibn 'Ali al-Barbahari are peer-reviewed academic sources from recognized publishing houses; all information he inserted was an attempt at pushing a negative POV of the theological school in question. GPS coordinates

When uploading photographs, be careful not to reveal personal information. It says that you took the photographs File:NYPlayingCards.jpg and File:GPKBook.jpg. Check the section "Metadata", where you can find information about the photographs. For example, you can find the longitudes and latitudes where the photographs were taken. The longitude and latitude of the first file point at what looks like a residential area in a city, possibly revealing your home address. The longitude and latitude in the second file point at a different street in the same city.
