User talk:Neddyseagoon/TranslationsFirst thoughtsHello Neddy, could you take a look at these lemma's. Someone might be interested in knowing more about these people:
I would appreciate when you could start. Taksen 13:51, 3 September 2007 (UTC) Note to self - a few others that might benefit:
Neddyseagoon - talk 09:08, 12 September 2007 (UTC) Thanks, you saved, but also delivered me a lot of work. I need time or should ask help to check the translations.
I saw the picture you want of Catharina Hooft, but could not borrow the book. I will look around.Taksen 23:07, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for all the work. It would be nice to have a meal somewhere, some time. May be these three people are interesting to translate.

hello Neddy, np, you always say you have no time, and then i see you translating a new one. anyhow good job on Jan J. Hinlopen. i did not expect you were able to translate these difficult sentences. please take your time, because you are working very hard to improve the knowledge on the history of the netherlands. i'll try the people on the page you suggested for proofreading. besseldekker is very good, i hope he will check and work on the ones you did. thx. Taksen 19:40, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
A bit of advice as I see you are involved with translation.
Looking good! Victuallers 10:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Still OK? Victuallers 14:36, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Cornelis Rudolphus Theodorus KrayenhoffAs you can see in the Dutch Wikipedia most of the article is mine. My name there is Taks or T. Tichelaar. User:Neddyseagoon translated my work after I asked him to do so, see the discussion on his page. Therefore I would like to have an award also. I knew something like this one day would happen, because there is nowhere written in the English version that it was copied and translated from the Dutch Wikipedia or it will disappear after a while. I think I have to have the possibility to add a sjablon, that it is a exact translation of my work. Neddy did not add anything. Besides it was all translated with a machine. Usually I check what he did, but he is working so fast I have not had to possiblity to check.
Besides he does not warn me, that the article is awarded, maybe he is a rat.
Please pay attention when someone is copying completely, including the Dutch references. Taksen 00:23, 14 October 2007 (UTC) The article has not been checked by me. I don't believe the translation is reliable. I will ask User:BesselDekker to check. He is a much better translater. Taksen 00:38, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
I assume your will be more careful next time, and I am sorry I scared you. It is nice to cooperate on a lemma, even if you are not very talkative. The DYK's have little use, because they are only on for six hours, I will not check four times a day, but I am proud and this is a new experience. Taksen 10:03, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Hereby a message from the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Wiselius. Dear Mr. Tichelaar, I’m very grateful for your note and the link to Wikipedia. Very interesting. So far as I know no one is working directly on Weenix but I will keep your article on file in case I come across further info. With many thanks, Walter Liedtke Taksen 11:01, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
See comments on start/B on the talk page. Good luck Arnoutf 17:54, 17 October 2007 (UTC) Hello Neddy, please don't get upset, I will keep you informed. I asked Bessel to do a translation, but he is very busy on the moment with another project and so am I. Then I proposed to Bessel and ask you to do the rough translation, then I will checked and Bessel will improve it. Is that okay? Taksen 22:32, 17 October 2007 (UTC) Neddyseagoon - talk 09:33, 18 October 2007 (UTC) As you did not make clear you are having time to translate, I asked him first. Taksen 20:34, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
(I wish I had an emailadress so our conservations would be more behind the screens).Taksen 20:34, 17 October 2007 (UTC) Or should I give up working in the English Wikipedia, it would be a pity. It is so much more rewarding in three weeks than the Dutch Wikipedia has ever been for me in the past three years. A private teacher would be nice also. Taksen 20:45, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
If the English Wikipedia accepts Dutch references they should also accept Dutch talk by users. Am I right? Taksen 22:02, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Goodmorning Neddy, I have a problem with the picture of The visit to the nursery, which has been uploaded by me four months ago. About a month ago I asked for a copy in NY, for our museum. I signed an agreement last week not to use a copy somewhere else then in the library of the museum. The file will be sent to the museum within a few weeks. I have to ask for permission to the curator of MMA again if I would like to use the picture somewhere else.Taksen Half a year ago, I promised the same to the Gemäldegalerie, Berlin, but they allowed us to use the picture in a brochure once. This is the reason why I did not upload a copy of the painting The family Hinlopen in the article. Do you understand what I want to explain?Taksen Before I will show this article to both the curators to tell them what I have discovered, and to explain what is the controversy about, I prefer to show them the article without these two paintings. Or would there be no problem if they were already in it, because of age and in the public domain?Taksen In that email I might when necessary ask permission to use the pictures in the article on Wikipedia as an illustration. Or can you think of ask around for another solution? Taksen 06:51, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Items with potentialFrom the Hinlopen one - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=Geelvinck Neddyseagoon - talk 15:21, 18 October 2007 (UTC) Hello Arnout, you did not recognize the article on Gerrit Paape has been translated extremely well. It should be more than stub-class. If you call this stub I dont have much confidence in your opinion. Taksen 17:37, 19 October 2007 (UTC) SuggestionsMay not have time to do these myself.
And, to destub:
Neddyseagoon - talk 12:50, 22 October 2007 (UTC) hello neddy, how did you find Cornelis de Graeff was crippled? If it is not written somewhere, it is a good observation, and you are talented. Taksen 13:19, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Hello neddy. Did you write the page on Admiral van Ghent? Could you tell me where you got the story about the 18c owner of the chalice destroying it when faced with a gold tax? Thanks. C94.30.47.170 (talk) 21:21, 12 April 2010 (UTC) Museum RoumjantsevGoodmorning Neddy, Yesterday I translated the article Museum Roumjantsev from the German Wikipedia. I tried to change its name to Rumyantsev Museum and then I found out the name is already in use. What would be the best? To integrate these two, or change the redirect from Russian State Library to my article? Taksen 09:13, 9 November 2007 (UTC) Charles-François DelacroixHello Neddy, could you take a look at this lemma Charles-François Delacroix, improve my english and add some categories? Taksen 10:42, 12 November 2007 (UTC) Nicolas BrazierHello. You are doing a great job with many translations. But I noticed, reading an article about Nicolas Brazier, obviously translated from the French Wikipedia, that you didn't mention the translated source. I think you should do so (it's quite easy with the Translation/Ref template), not only for the sake of verifiability but also to comply with the provisions of the GFDL. Regards --Gliese581 (talk) 18:12, 2 March 2008 (UTC) More translations?Hello Neddy, are you in for a few more translations, concerning merchants in the Dutch East India Company? Taksen (talk) 09:32, 2 July 2008 (UTC) Hello Neddy, thanks again, here is another lemma some people might like to read.
Take your time. Don't forget to take a look on the portuguese lemma on him. It is small but has some internal links you can use. Bye,Taksen (talk) 08:47, 13 July 2008 (UTC) Hello Neddy, long time no hear, I have a request? Do you want to translate Taksen (talk) 12:22, 10 September 2008 (UTC) Hello Neddyseagoon. How about a translation of nl:Jeronimo Clifford, whose relatives lived in Kent? Probably you are able to destillate a few more details from the website British History Online. There is a lot of international attention for J. Clifford, but nobody seems to have bothered uptill now. Can you let me know if you are interested or not? Taksen (talk) 09:04, 27 April 2009 (UTC) Hello, Neddy, i'm happy to see you online again. I was worried. Taksen (talk) 19:08, 22 September 2009 (UTC) Jacques AdamHi Neddy, I've read the page you've created about Jacques Adam. You wrote he was a clergyman, but as a descendant of him (something like 11 generations !), I am quite sure it may not be the appropriate word :-) He did went to the Oratory but he was not a priest (clergyman seems to mean that, doesn't it ?). I will correct my-self the Wikipedia FR page, but my skills in English are so low that I'd rather let you make the correction on the Wikipedia EN . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.169.39.228 (talk) 03:00, 2 September 2010 (UTC) Lodewijk van AlterenHallo Neddyseagoon. Do you think this person is worth to be mentioned in the English Wikipedia? It probably will not attract many readers but the subject is interesting. Extortion and Abuse of Power in the Dutch Republic: The Case of ... Lodewijk van Alteren(1608-1657). He was the son of a politician from Zeeland, and son in law to the Amsterdam burgomaster Anthony Oetgens van Waveren [1]. Could you let me know if you like the subject? I will add and make a Dutch translation. Taksen (talk) 22:31, 27 December 2010 (UTC) Willem Anne LestevonHello Neddyseagoon. May be nl:Willem Anne Lestevenon is interesting for you to translate. You can also take a look at fr:Willem Anne Lestevenon. The Dutch article is quit long and probably has too much details on Dutch history. You could skip some. The British Museum, the Ashmolean Museum, the Louvre and the MET own drawings from his collection.Taksen (talk) 12:03, 4 February 2011 (UTC) |
