Your recent editsHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 17:16, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Bulbapedia_logo.pngThanks for uploading or contributing to File:Bulbapedia_logo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 03:34, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Mario FACHi Nathan2055. Thank you for getting the courage to try out FAC! Unfortunately, I've had to archive your nomination. Generally, when an article already has some identified issues (like the comments on the article talk page), it's better to get those fixed before nominating the article. We expect articles to already meet the FA criteria when they are nominated. Take some time to work on those and then you can bring the article back to FAC. Good luck!! Karanacs (talk) 20:18, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
I've nominated it for deletion, as it is a copyright violation. Copyrighted things do not belong on Commons, and taking a picture of something doesn't make it your own work. For example, something like File:Funorb-Arcanists.png can exist on Wikipedia only because the image is ridiculously low resolution, used as little as possible (exactly one article), and that it has a rationale for using copyrighted images in a free encyclopedia (It's worth the time when you read those little boxes full of text). If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me, or you can place {{helpme}} on this page with your question below it. Thanks. --Σ talkcontribs 02:17, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

Alright, how should I go about getting rollback? --Nathan2055talk 14:37, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
I just saw you updated the vandalism level to two. Repeating characters? I reverted a good amount of vandalism but I didn't see any of that. I did report a spam account that was blocked a few minutes ago. This is fun, and easier than I thought, just using Twinkle! --Nathan2055talk 20:18, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Well, I didn't get it. They said 50 reverts was too few for a editor that has only been around for about a month. What should I do? --Nathan2055talk 21:25, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
Godmode-light looks to be just what it says. A light version of Twinkle with just rollback buttons. You might as well just use Twinkle. All I use are a few small gadgets that do things like add edit links for the lead section of a page or run citation bot in one click. My only scripts are a unread watchlist item marker, a page count gadget (useful for the GOCE's copyedit drives), and Lupin's anti-vandal tool (a gadget that adds a nice interface for recent changes patrolling). I have Igloo installed as well, but it doesn't work unless I have the rollback right. I've been going through AFC these days, I'm going to join the welcome committee. There's certainly lots to do! --Nathan2055talk 21:28, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

That should be brought up on the talk page, not by vandalizing the article. If there is a neutrality dispute, then the article should be wikified. --Nathan2055talk 17:51, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

I am new to Wikipedia and this is my first article submission so any advise you can give me would probably help. I chose to submit this article on Glen Martin Elementary School as my first attempt at an article because it is a little known one room school house I attended for 4-5th grade. I was a unique experience. There is little information on the school that I could find online. I could actually see if Bear Valley Unified School District has any historical information about Glen Martin. Admittedly I know the article is not very notable but I couldn't think of what to contribute to Wikipedia that isn't already here. Perhaps maybe I could contribute something else, any suggestions? I know my article sucks lol but in my defense, I was hoping to mainly learn about the process. I wasn't sure if it worked like a forum or not where one begins a subject or thread and everyone then discusses are adds to it and then someone else revises the content? So I don't waste anybody's time including my own, I need to know how in depth I need to get with an article submission for it to be considered in the future. Thanks for your input, Chris Lingford — Preceding unsigned comment added by CLingford (talk • contribs) 03:42 (UTC), 8 August 2011

Sent on behalf of the Guild of Copy Editors using AWB on 16:41, 5 August 2011 (UTC) SirSir, I've created a Wikipedia article on the US Army battalion in which I formerly served - 3rd Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment. Twice you have denied this article publication (in the first case on the grounds of a lack of in-line citation, which I more than adequately corrected, and in the second on the grounds of a lack of third party sources). Unfortunately, third party sources are not abundant regarding this topic. I understand that my own personal experiences (which I cited in my initial rough draft) are most likely neither verifiable, nor - arguably - impartial by Wikipedia's standard, but I have listed numerous sources (admittedly, all Army-related publications) which should be construed as nothing less than quality journalism and, therefore, acceptable according to Wikipedia's guidelines. Please advise me on the best means by which to have this article cleaned up according to Wikipedia's, and, accordingly, your standards. It most certainly deserves publication as a testament to the brave men and women who currently serve in harm's way under this battalion's unfurled banner. Thank you for your time. Very Sincerely And Respectfully, R. E. Henrickson — Preceding unsigned comment added by R.E.Henrickson (talk • contribs) 02:34, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
biography - benoît DelbecqHello Nathan2055, I am surprised you've proposed the article "Benoit Delbecq" for deletion. I am Benoît Delbecq, living in Clichy, France, and I wrote this article by myself a few weeks ago, changed a little thing this morning indeed. You might not be interested by my musical works - no problem with this - nevertheless I've had so many people from the US, South Africa, UK and other parts of the world writing or saying to me "why can't we find a biography of yours on Wikipedia ?" (there is one on the french Wikipedia since years) therefore I thought I might do it myself - so there's no distortion of information. Now, nothing has been copied from other web pages except... mine (http://www.delbecq.net/bd/bd2.html) ! And you may easily find dozens of biographical references about my works on the international press online - or paper press. Sincerely, Haskjazz66 (talk) 19:48, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Benoît Delbecq

GOCE requests pageHi I have stricken your comment from the GOCE requests page and deleted the tag from the article The Care Bears Movie. Article size is not a good enough reason for us to refuse a copy-edit, GAN and FAC articles are often around that size and many are larger. I have removed the tag as it should not really be on there, though others might agree with you adding it. It probably would have been better to mention it on the talk page as a query rather than an absolute decision. The size of an article (Wikipedia:Article size) can depend on various factors, especially whether or not a split article would be notable or not. Take a look at the one I am currently copy-editing Dacian bracelets - it is ≥9,000 words. The guidelines in the MOS page I have given you the link to says:
The care bears article is 77 kb; however, it would not really justify being split off, as the sections are specific to the film and unlikely to warrant an article in their own right. The Dacian bracelets article is 91kb and I will probably recommend a split on the talk page, though that too would be difficult. If you find an article is too big for you to comfortably copy-edit, simply remove your name from the articles entry on the GOCE requests page. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me or any of the GOCE co-ordinators on the coordinators page: Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Coordinators. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Ever Present Compensation Coefficient to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe A1 applies to the page in question - it's not very short and you can (sort of) make out what it's about. I'd love to know whether it's a hoax or was meant to be serious, but the author hasn't edited for three years, so we'll never know. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:08, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Golden Bomber articlehello, I just wanted to clear some points, if you don't mind. it was mentioned in the comment that links to social networking sites and blogs are against policy, but the thing is I translated the article from Japanese, and all these links, including twitter and blogs, were put on Japanese page, so I thought it was legit. does Japanese Wikipedia have rules different to other languages? about the lead, I don't quite get what's wrong. my bad. I tried to do my best with translating and editing the original Japanese page, but I guess I failed (or again, Japanese Wikipedia contributions are reviewed not so strictly). anyway thanks for reviewing. Travel Technology InteractiveHi Nathan2055, Thanks for reviewing my article regarding Travel Technology Interactive. However, could you tell me a bit more why you consider there is no reliable sources? The company description is certified by IATA (International Air Transport Association) which we can say is a reliable source. It is however true that all the other sources are taken directly or indirectly from press releases. However, remaining with a neutral point of view and giving just the facts, shouldn't this be approved? News paper articles are taken from press releases and are nevertheless considered as reliable. Don't you think that as the only sources available (in english, as the company's managing director has been giving some interviews in French press) they should be valid? Waiting for your suggestions and comments. --Ecnelis75014 (talk) 10:11, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
1978 European Cup FinalNathan 2055, perhaps I should have put something in the edit summary, and I'm sorry I didn't, but you must have seen the requester's comments at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Guild_of_Copy_Editors/Requests#1978_European_Cup_Final, and he's right, you know. Your edits amount to replacing "ground" with "stadium" a few times, "extra-time" with "overtime" once, and some punctuation. "Overtime" is definitely wrong in the context of association football written in British English. "Home stadium" is all right, but "home ground" is also correct and is more usual. I just wanted to start from the base I could work from most directly. You did actually also remove the inuse tag I placed on the article, potentially exposing me to edit conflicts from others. I have to say it doesn't really feel as if you were assuming good faith on my part. I see that you contribute mainly at times that are evening or night where I live, and I want to get on with the work. So, depending on when you next come online, I may have done a lot more. Can you allow it, please? --Stfg (talk) 23:11, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/MicroinvestDear Reviewer, Since this is the second time my contribution Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Microinvest has been rejected for one and the same reason (sources cited), and since it had undergone a significant change in the reference section and in the content itself, I would like to ask for the specifics of the reason for the second rejection. I believe reliable sources from Bulgarian and Russian mass media and non-minority specialized media have been extensively used. The only use of the website of the organization featured in the article is for the purpose of showing the scanned copies of the honours and awards of the organization, for the reason that such documents are usually not to be found elsewhere, since they are possession of the organization itself. I also checked the page of another such organization, MICROS Fidelio, which has a considerable amount of links from its website (I believe more than 10) and sections with extensive material about their products which is labelled to be challenged for being an advertisement. Yet, this article has been approved and is officially part of Wikipedia, unlike the one that I have attempted to create. Could you provide me with some tips as to what to change in order to be successful in my submission the third time? Thank you very much.Viliminova (talk)
Removing contents from one's own talk pagePer Wikipedia guidelines, "Users may freely remove comments from their own talk pages." The only exceptions are warnings, etc. Administrators previously confirmed this for me. See User talk pages. 76.189.126.170 (talk) 03:15, 1 July 2012 (UTC) Correction: Even warnings are allowed to be removed from ones own talk's page. Per the guidelines referenced above: "Users may freely remove comments from their own talk pages, though archiving is preferred. They may also remove some content in archiving. The removal of a warning is taken as evidence that the warning has been read by the user. This specifically includes both registered and unregistered users. There are certain types of notices that users may not remove from their own talk pages, such as declined unblock requests and speedy deletion tags." 76.189.126.170 (talk) 03:41, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
Warning about Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Disney XD (Netherlands & Flanders)Hi I see you opened an AFD for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Disney XD (Netherlands & Flanders). However the problem is that you also closed it. This is not acceptable from a conflict of interest perspective, and an independent person should do this. Even for a snow close this should not happen. The only suitable time to do it would be if you changed your mind about deleting and no one else wanted to, then you can withdraw your proposal. For merge proposals you should be using the talk pages of the affected articles. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:49, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

I was tasked with adding an entry about the company I work for to Wikipedia, not realizing that creating an account with the company name from the start would never be approved under any circumstances. (And, FYI, it's now crossed my mind that the "z" in my account name may look like it's directly tied to the "Zeitbyte" in our corporate account, which is entirely coincidental as my last name begins with Z and I only began working for this company recently.) The initial feedback I received had more to do with the content not demonstrating the company's notability, so I added more references/sources. Comment again said same, so I had a chat with one of the help volunteers yesterday about articles that were more appropriate to use for references (but he still did not tell me I would have a problem with the creator name alone). I tried to add in additional sources, then late yesterday was told the entry was a conflict of interest and needed to edited by a different name, so I went in under my personal account (which, as you'll see, has been used very little). Trying to be very transparent but not sure of the protocol (I've been doing some reading but it's a bit complex at a beginner level). Can you please advise on what I might do to resolve any issues? Again, we're not trying to use the page to sell anything, etc., but we have received some notable press, etc., and feel a page would be warranted (virtually every other company in our industry space also has a page here). Thanks in advance for your help, and would appreciate any concrete steps to take. Jz117 (talk) 14:25, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
I have read that it is discouraged but not forbidden -- as you can see, I am not trying to be "shady" about this and I also have made several attempts working with other editors here (in the chat as well) to find out what might be done to improve the page with appropriate references (which, I was told by a person I worked with in help chat, were much improved from my earlier drafts). Additionally, I've read there are other places here where you may post for assistance from others who may want to help edit an article on your behalf, yet I find it strange you have not even suggested this. (Being new to Wikipedia editing, I have not quite figured out the process but will now find help elsewhere here.) All of the information provided in the article can be substantiated in third-party sources and is also written in a factual manner (and Wikipedia tone), regardless of connection I have to the subject. Speedy deletion contested: Wuhu IslandHello Nathan2055. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Wuhu Island, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The original AfD pertained to the article that was here, not the redirect. CSD A7 on Rémi Cusin{{done}} Hi, I wanted to let you know that I have challenged your WP:CSD A7 on Rémi Cusin. In my opinion being a member of a major international cycling team is a sufficient claim of importance to pass the low standard set by criteria A7. I'm not sure whether the article passes the stricter notability guidelines, so I have no objection if you would like to pursue and alternative deletion process. Concerns about speedy deletionHi Nathan2055, thanks for reviewing my article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Nottingham_Spirk_Innovation_Center). I'm curious as to why you declined my article---you mentioned speedy deletion category A7, and I don't believe my article falls under any of those categories within A7 (It is not a person, band, club, society, group, organization, website, or animal). Apart from that, I generally don't understand how the subject is not notable. I provided a well rounded variety of third party sources including the NY times, and it's in the National Register of Historic Places. If you could provide me with an explanation I would greatly appreciate it. ThanksLalexander11 (talk) 18:55, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

I have designed my page to mirror the other pages referencing lands of Tokyo DisneySea, while providing more, viable sources of both 1st and 3rd party. Questions about reviewNathan2055 Thanks for reviewing my submission about the history of the Duke Jazz Ensemble. I am not sure what references you are requesting. I played trumpet in the group from 1969 until 1974, and directed the group from 1972 until 1974. I would be a primary source for information. I referenced some published information about the group. Other sources would not constitute primary sources. Some of the information about the group is contained in the wikipedia page on the Duke Ambassadors since they were a predecessor to the Duke Jazz Ensemble. I thought it would be better to have its own page on this group's history. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Klitz1 (talk • contribs) 16:00, 6 September 2011 (UTC) Power dividersI have now responded at the GA for this article [1] SpinningSpark 17:19, 11 September 2011 (UTC) The Signpost: 12 September 2011

Page Triage newsletterHey all. Some quick but important updates on what we've been up to and what's coming up next :). The curation toolbar, our Wikimedia-supported twinkle replacement. We're going to be deploying it, along with a pile of bugfixes, to wikipedia on 9 August. After a few days to check it doesn't make anything explode or die, we'll be sticking up a big notice and sending out an additional newsletter inviting people to test it out and give us feedback :). This will be followed by two office hours sessions - one on Tuesday the 14th of August at 19:00 UTC for all us Europeans, and one on Wednesday the 15th at 23:00 UTC for the East Coasters out there :). As always, these will be held in #wikimedia-office; drop me a note if you want to know how to easily get on IRC, or if you aren't able to attend but would like the logs. First, you'll note that all the project titles have now changed to the Page Curation prefix, rather than having the New Pages Feed prefix. This is because the overarching project name has changed to Page Curation; the feed is still known as New Pages Feed, and the Curation Toolbar is still the Curation Toolbar. Hopefully this will be the last namechange ;p. On the subject of the Curation Toolbar (nice segue, Oliver!) - it's now deployed on Wikipedia. Just open up any article in the New Pages Feed and it should appear on the right. It's still a beta version - bugs are expected - and we've got a lot more work to do. But if you see something going wrong, or a feature missing, drop me a note or post on the project talkpage and I'll be happy to help :). Thanks! Thanks --Laemiracles (talk) 00:17, 11 August 2012 (UTC) Your submission at Articles for creationI noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bogbainfarm. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon. Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable. Here's an example of how to add references: Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>
He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref> == References == {{reflist}} That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here. Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat chanel at #wikipedia-en-help connect. This has been done for the following reason: Misplaced AfC submission
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Nathan2055talk 20:50, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
Notability of Edward MargoliesHi Nathan. I've been working with a new editor, User:Thecobbrooklyn, to write the Edward Margolies article. The subject is notable, specifically within African American literature. I'd like to challenge that you declaring him non-notable. Just searching "Edward Margolies" and the word African, brings you over 20,000 hits in Google books alone. According to Wikipedia:Notability_(academics), Margolies passes the test, such as "The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources," and if you search Google books you can see that. Same goes for Jstor and other academic search resources. He was also a regular contributor to African American Review and is mentioned in the Harvard guide to African American literature,. While all of the secondary resources aren't here, the new editor, Cob, is learning the merits of adding this content. I believe, that by moving the article to the user space will only help to improve the article, and keep around a good faith and well meaning editor. Thank you for your consideration. I came across your review at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/High-Tech Gründerfonds, and I must tell you that the decline reason (non-neutral) wasn't quite right. The article was in fact written in a factual manner. I'd like to ask you to be more careful with your reviews. It's important that we only decline submissions when we absolutely have to, because newbies need more encouragement than anything else. It's great that you're helping out at AfC, but please give the reviewer instructions a careful read and make sure that your decline reasons do fit the article in question. Best wishes, and happy editing. OohBunnies! Leave a message :) 10:22, 2 April 2012 (UTC) Your review of Sustainable Aviation FuelHi. Firstly, thank you for your contributions at Articles for Creation. I've seen your review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Sustainable Aviation Fuel and I have a few concerns about the reasons given. The first is that being an unwikified article is not a valid reason to decline because it is basically a style issue, which wouldn't be a valid reason to ever delete the article. Lack of inline citations is very rarely an appropriate decline reason either. The only times that the "lack of inline citations" reason should be used is when the article doesn't meet the cases given in the essay WP:MINREF. At AfC the aim is to ensure that articles won't be deleted as soon as we put them in Mainspace, not that they will meet the criteria for a Featured Article. --Mrmatiko (talk) 09:48, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
Altered speedy deletion rationale: LibremoviesHello Nathan2055, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted Libremovies, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. ScribbleLive Wikipedia articleHi Nathan, Thank you so much for taking the time to look at the article I wrote (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/ScribbleLive) I edited it again and got a number of peers who are not connected with our brand to look at the article, I then applied their changes to the text. Please let me know what you think and/or if anything else needs to be changed. Again, thank you. Katytorg (talk) 18:25, 30 March 2012 (UTC)
It is used by news organizations and corporate companies for real-time news delivery and event coverage. Which companies are these? Why is that notable for an encyclopedia? (We normally don't list customers) ScribbleLive differs from traditional blogging by the real-time nature of its content publication How? A variety of content can be published via liveblogs, including SMS text messages, tweets, social media updates, voice mail, email, photographs, and video. reference? "Service Features" the complete section is unreferenced, shorting the headline to Features "Event Coverage" remove that section!
The platform is relevant because if you look under "Event Coverage" and click on any of those events, e.g. Japanese Earth Quake, you will see that the event says "powered by ScribbleLive". Considering the level of traffic that these major events, covered by these major news organizations, receive, I would imagine that some of the readers may be curious as to what ScribbleLive is. When they search for ScribbleLive, it would be great for them to have an objective source that describes what exactly it is and what it does. When I Google anything, I press the wikipedia link instead of the actual website in order to learn about something. The goal is to create a wikipedia page that users can use to quickly understand what ScribbleLive is instead of having to go to the website or to a news article (which is currently the case). AfC New Economy LeadershipHi Nathan Thank you for your feedback on my article. I was hoping to confirm that my understanding for the rejection is correct; essentially the article is not suitable at this time as New Economy Leadership is a new term and needs to be in broad use before a wiki article can be used on this? If so, could you please give me some advice on how to improve the article to a state that it can be submitted? I was thinking of 2 possible approaches, the first would be to add additional sources, the challenge being that I need enought reliable secondary sources that speak about the term and do not simply use it. The other approach would be to rename it, as my article is more about the core of the leadership style that New Economy Leadership represents than the specific term itself. I would appreciate any advice and guidance. cheers Peter Pjdevilliers (talk) 19:31, 3 April 2012 (UTC)

Wonderlic TestMy name is VLord Armstrong, and I am currently in a college class for I-O Psychology. Our project is to go and review and edit existing articles or create non-existing articles that pertain to the field of I-O Psychology. I noticed that one of the sections under the Wonderlic Test "Relevance to I-O Psychology" has been deleted by you. I have brought that section back due to the significant value that section has on the Wonderlic Test. Much of my sources are scholarly journals from the American Psychology Association's PsychNET, provided wide credibility. As for the writing style, I do apologize since English is not my first language, however as a "test" there are certain elements that may feel like it is an advertisement, but I assure you that it is not and that all information is provided from multiple sources. The Wonderlic Test stems from the creation of the earlier forms of I-O Psychology and must be mentioned within the article. VLord89 (talk) 20:19, 8 April 2012 (UTC) Wonderlic Test (2)Hi Nathan2055. AfC Alcohol (Race Horse)Hi Nathan, I'm new to creating pages and am trying to determine what I need to do for have the AfC "Alcohol (Race Horse)" pass the review. You said it failed because its not adequately supported by reliable sources. I based the page on similar horse pages utilising the same reference sites. Not really sure where to do from here. I also suspect that the page title should actually be "Alcohol (horse)" for consistency (I didn't create the original attempted submission) but am unaware how to change it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.101.79.26 (talk) 01:07, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

As the enwiki page notes, the project is divided into two chunks: the "list view" (essentially an updated version of Special:NewPages) and the "article view", a view you'll be presented with when you open up individual articles that contains a toolbar with lots of options to interact with the page - patrolling it, adding maintenance tags, nominating it for deletion, so on. On the list view front, we're pretty much done! We tried deploying it to enwiki, in line with our Engagement Strategy on Wednesday, but ran into bugs and had to reschedule - the same happened on Thursday :(. We've queued a new deployment for Monday PST, and hopefully that one will go better. If it does, the software will be ready to play around with and test by the following week! :). On the article view front, the developers are doing some fantastic work designing the toolbar, which we're calling the "curation bar"; you can see a mockup here. A stripped-down version of this should be ready to deploy fairly soon after the list view is; I'm afraid I don't have precise dates yet. When I have more info, or can unleash everyone to test the list view, I'll let you know :). As always, any questions to the talkpage for the project or mine. Thanks! They include flyouts from the icons in Special:NewPagesFeed, showing who reviewed an article and when, a listing of this in the "info" flyout, and a general re-jigging of the info flyout - we've also fixed the weird bug with page_titles_having_underscores_instead_of_spaces in messages sent to talkpages, and introduced CSD logging! As always, these features will need some work - but any feedback would be most welcome. Thanks! AFCHDunno, I can't follow the development and sadly I have really useful code (some bugfixes etc in), but be sure: test the code at least three times (or say with 50 pages especially with approvals of BIOs) before requesting a push. See User:wikignome/afc.js (some parts e.g. the drafted template stuff is unfinished!), that was my last stuff I believe (no gurantee...)... Page Curation newsletterHey Nathan2055. This will be, if not our final newsletter, one of the final ones :). After months of churning away at this project, our final version (apart from a few tweaks and bugfixes) is now live. Changes between this and the last release include deletion tag logging, a centralised log, and fixes to things like edit summaries. Hopefully you like what we've done with the place; suggestions for future work on it, complaints and bugs to the usual address :). We'll be holding a couple of office hours sessions, which I hope you'll all attend. Speedy deletion nomination of User:2600:1008:B008:B716:0:39:D3D9:7401A tag has been placed on User:2600:1008:B008:B716:0:39:D3D9:7401, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason: Moving notice over to talk page

I just received your decision to reject the submission due to the person not being a notable person. Considering that the Steve Ray whose biography is on Wikipedia is a rugby player from the 1930's, how is one to determine the notability of a person? It would seem that the Steve Ray contemporaneous with us is more notable than the Steve Ray from the 1930's. Please help me to understand this. Thank you. Respectfully,

Steve Ray BiographyThank you for your timely response. I reviewed the notability policies before writing the biography and I'm still confused as to the reason you consider the biography on Stephen K. Ray not notable enough to be posted on Wikipedia. What, specifically, is materially different between the biography I wrote and the one on Steve Ray or this article, which has no sources of any kind? Would you, also, please explain what is "just a biography"? I am asking you for clarification, because you are the one who rejected my submission. I don't know that registering for "live help" is going to help me understand your reasonings. The man whose biography I submitted to Wikipedia is better and more widely known among people in the United States and is having more of an impact on them than Steve Ray, the rugby player from the 1930's. Please help me to understand why you rejected the biography I wrote. Thank you for your continued assistance with this. Respectfully,

It seems to me there is sufficient citation of quite acceptable news sources, including ABC, though they need to be better formatted. I actually find it ironic that there is a WikiProject Mississippi add above the edit window right now, since the article is in that project. I was just a bit curious as to why you declined the submission. The article was clearly to the point where it would have passed AFD and that is generally the approve/decline line for AFC submissions. I saw your suggestion on the Encore page about condensing it into Fox Theatre. Since it's the official show program of three other entities, I went ahead to try and put links to Encore on all four entry pages' external link sections in case the article ended up getting deleted. But I don't know that the edit to the external links on the Alliance Theatre page took (I type fast so they warned me that I might be a spammer?). Since you seem to be active in the discussion, I thought I'd let you know, so the link could be added to Alliance Theatre. I agree that not much seems to be written about Encore, but it is a big deal for arts lovers in Atlanta and the content is of interest to more than just Fox patrons. I think that because it was in the Media in Atlanta section, people were trying to create a stub for it. Kris3011 (talk) 02:11, 29 June 2012 (UTC)Kris3011 Contested PRODHello. I've contested the proposed deletion of Tiger-head shoes because I think it seems notable enough. There is a governmental source at [3] which was for some reason not cited, and I was able to find some discussions in books on Google Books, e.g. at [4] and [5]. I would, with some sheepishness, admit that I don't currently plan to work on the article to work in those sources, but I think the notability is there. And ultimately, since the article isn't promoting a business / product / person, I think it should be allowed to remain, given the basic notability. Thanks. wctaiwan (talk) 23:41, 29 June 2012 (UTC) Re: Question about an IPHello, Nathan2055. You have new messages at Gogo Dodo's talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Mojang logo.pngA tag has been placed on File:Mojang logo.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated. If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Unblock requests from rangeblocked IPsRe your comment here: This happens a lot with rangeblocked IPs, and as I said (and have said on all other previous occasions) there's really nothing I can do. The only edits from that IP are those related to that request ... any other edits the user made came from different IP and no diffs have been provided. We don't lift rangeblocks because one IP wants to be unblocked ... we never have (Giving registered users IPBE when they're caught in them, which I've done many times, is different). And to suggest that by following that practice I'm somehow violating WP:BITE shows a limited understanding of that page. I have been professional and polite doing it, after all, which the IP noticed. Even if we could somehow redo the rangeblocks so as to leave that IP out, it wouldn't make a difference to a user on a dynamic range. They could just as easily find themselves on another blocked IP, and start this whole thing over. There's nothing wrong with you advocating on this user's behalf, but as I've said I can't do anymore. You would be better off taking it up with Materialscientist, who imposed the initial rangeblock. This means I’ll have to figure out what is useful to spend time on. If you’re reading this could you let me know for example on this discussion page? Hello. Thank you for accepting my AfC submission at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Zachg. One point on the article title, however. While for people who are best known by a pseudonym, the legal name should usually appear first in the article (WP:NAMES#Pseudonyms, stage names and common names), the name used most often to refer to a person in reliable sources is generally the one that should be used as the article title, even if it is not their "real" name, and even if it appears to pass judgement on the person (WP:STAGENAME). Therefore, in this case, I think Zachg should be used as the article title as per Zachary Moldof#References. Could you please take a second look? 114.164.154.113 (talk) 21:44, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Daniel BrusilovskyHello Nathan2055, I saw your decline of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Daniel Brusilovsky. The reason you gave was that the article had been deleted at AfD. But according to the page history, the article never went through AfD, it was only Speedied, back in 2009. Does that change anything? Howicus (talk) 19:14, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
RE: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Solid Concepts Inc.Hi Nathan, My article was declined really quickly by you with the reason cited as "Resubmitted with no changes since last decline", which is false. I made changes to my references, deleted the two that seemed most likely to be "not verifiable" (even though they were) and cleaned up the rest of them. The remaining ones are still verifiable and from highly regarded media sources. I talked with another Wikipedia editor and he suggested I give at least one reference per paragraph, which I have done where applicable. I'm not quite sure what remains unverifiable, but I'm certainly sure that you did not actually look over my page. I appreciate your help.Alyssacles (talk) 15:17, 3 June 2013 (UTC)
Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Zeke DurdenYou declined my article after I spent a ridiculous amount of time going back and forth with davidwr over citation formats, trademark issues, and quotations. If my article was only going to be declined in the end for failing to meet the notability guidelines, why did Wikipedia waste so much of my time with formatting and quotation requests? If you had told me upfront that the article would not be accepted, that would have been fine. But having me jump through numerous hoops and spend an inordinate amount of time perfecting citations only to have the article declined at the end is infuriating. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AshtarSheran (talk • contribs) 03:19, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Greenberg-Hastings cellular automatonI am new to Wikipedia editing, talk, etc, though not at all new to reading W. articles. If I understand correctly you (or someone) proposed to delete the article "Greenberg Hastings cellular automaton". Here are some reasons I think it deserves to stay: 1. This was, as far as I know, the first published CA model of an excitable medium. A Google search for "Greenberg Hastings", with the quotes, gives about 3300 hits. 2. In the article on Cellular Automaton there is a list at the bottom of specific models. These all have Wikipedia articles. The first one is called "Brian's Brain". That is closely related to Greenberg-Hastings, in that there is only one small difference in the rules. It apparently has interesting properties, but little has been proved about it. 3. Google scholar reveals 199 citations, 16 in the last year. (The article cited is 35 years old.) A Google Scholar search for "Brian's Brain" returns 56 citations, 2 in the last year, though the article is newer than GH. Another CA model on the list is Langton's ant. That returns 77 total hits, 4 in the last year, though it also is newer. So GH has shown staying power. 4. Among the hits for GH in Google Scholar are articles by distinguished mathematicians with "Greenberg Hastings" as part of the title. This is quite rare for articles in math journals. 5. Again to compare with Brian's Brain and Langton's ant, more of the GH articles are in math journals, as opposed to CS and other topics. In math, at least, GH has made more impact. 6, This model is also described in Wolfram's book "A new kind of science". I've added that citation. I think the main weak point in my article is that I don't know how to do the graphics I want. The Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction article has a .gif animation of basically the same thing. But I want something that shows why the patterns evolve, not just THAT they evolve. This could be done best if I could create an interactive graphic in which the pattern would evolve one step at a time when the viewer clicks on it. I don't know if this is possible, and I certainly don't know how to do it now. Advice would be appreciated. It is very hard to see exactly what is going on in the .gif animation. If interactivity is not possible, I can try to prepare a series of snapshots, but this would not be nearly as good, in my opinion. The two web links given in the article give better graphics than the .gif file, but still don't bring out very well the importance of spirals in the developing pattern. Every GH pattern can be interpreted as interacting rotating spirals. This is especially hard to see in the aforementioned .gif. I am particularly puzzled by the statement that I can sign this with four tilde's. But here they are: Sph110 (talk) 01:48, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

Your comment at WT:WPAFC{{resolved}} FWIW, I have no real issue with the hiding of the custom decline option and I understand your intentions. I take issue with the out-of-process manner in which you went about doing it. You unilaterally made the change and failed to advertise it sufficiently, which is why you now have a couple of reviewers demanding its return. The worst part is, you allege that the change was supported by consensus when there is no evidence it was. I point you towards 2012 Q3 where, prior to your comment, Earwig said "Obviously custom messages should be used as often as possible, but nearly all submissions fit into the same few problem spots." – [speaking in defense of the continued use of canned decline messages]. You then replied with "I ditto Earwig here. I have made modifications to the script that will (hopefully) lessen the amount of custom declines." – clearly you don't ditto Earwig, because these two sentences are at variance with each other.

On the advice of an online wiki editor/coach at the Articles for creation help desk, I took out a peacock phrase "pioneering meteorologist" in the first paragraph and replaced it with the phrase he suggested: "notable meteorologist" Apparently, in your view, this is still a peacock word. If I delete "notable", will this article finally be acceptable? This is my first wiki article and I was trying to follow the notability criteria. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Changes to SuggestBot's suggestionsWe have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. WP:AFC on GitHubHey Nathan. Come back to the AFCH project on GitHub! The reason I'm here on your talkpage is because there is some new blood wanting to be part of the project, but mabdul has been AWOL for a while and no-one else seems to have permissions to add members to the group or manage member permissions. I have taken over the task of setting up milestones and labels and trying to get some organization going on. It's just too chaotic without it. So, I was wondering if you could pop in to IRC to discuss giving me the permissions to manage our members as well. I'll email mabdul to see if I can get him to do it, but I'm not sure how long that will take so I figured I'd ask you too. Thanks and be well! Technical 13 (talk) 00:38, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

In addition, many tiny annoyances with the old system have been addressed. It's a real improvement! :-) You can test out MassMessage here: testwiki:Special:MassMessage. Aggressive no-talk editing of a newcomer who is trying really hard to get it right.I am new, an am trying to decide whether to slither away or help. I got aggressively edited, and know I made mistakes, but looking at the history of this area (and many other areas I have researched) there appears to be a tendency to use NPOV and MEDRS to prevent significant minority view points. If I read the rules properly I think I am able to bring MEDRS facts to the table and demonstrate that there are prominent adherents and significant peer reviewed research. I also think I can avoid giving these minority views equal weighting. I chose to start with low value page about one significant minority view point assuming that a page about that organization would need to have some weighting, even if it were a page about the flat earth society needs to have a description. I got edited out in microseconds. I put a number of facts on the talk page, reverted, and was edited out in microseconds and I did not want to start a edit war. But I had a strong desire to slither away. But I also have a bad habit of being offended. Please advise what appropriate steps are for a newcomer. I am sure I am making mistakes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bob the goodwin (talk • contribs) 21:01, 28 December 2013 (UTC) The Signpost: 01 January 2014
