User talk:Mvcg66b3r/Archives/2023/October

Concerning the message you left on my talk page about KBPX-LD...

I am in no way connected to the station OR its parent company, and I receive no compensation, financial OR otherwise for the editing I do on here.. And, I forgive you for the incorrect inquiry against me. Though, not really sure what would have caused you to think that about me. My username is based off the fact that I have short hair, eyeglasses, & my real life initials are CK. ClarkKentWannabe (talk) 11:29, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

@ClarkKentWannabe: I'm sorry if you're offended. As 331dot said, this is not an attack on you, your username or your editing style. By the way, if you need help, just ask my good friend @Sammi Brie:. She's an expert in this field! Mvcg66b3r (talk) 11:30, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Reverted edit as to KTVX

I don't understand why you removed my addition to the article on this station, noting that a news van from it appears in the final scenes of Hitchcock's Psycho and providing a YouTube link showing it. Thanks. Elendil's Heir

VBA257 moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to VBA257. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. FuzzyMagma (talk) 13:31, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

Why are you removing citations from WNEM-TV?

Citations are not "meaningless," and are necessary to support the accuracy of content. Why are you reverting multiple citations, thereby leaving an article largely unsourced? --Eastview2018 (talk) 14:23, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

One of your citations is a link to WNEM's program schedule, which isn't a reliable source (WP:NOTTVGUIDE). And they're not properly formatted (just the URL and that's it). If you want help with sourcing, just ask @Sammi Brie:. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 14:29, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
What about the other sources? What was wrong with them. I know how to use the citation templates, but I wanted to get all the sources in there first. Frequently people have raw URL's in the Reference list, and others can format them with the templates. Eastview2018 (talk) 16:17, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
@Eastview2018: A couple of the MLive refs are salvageable ([1] in particular), but the rest are just too promotional or invalid uses of WP:ABOUTSELF. A citation to a radar page does not cut the mustard. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 17:36, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

Recent Revision on WWTV

I saw your recent revision of edits on the WWTV page; I'm wondering if you could revisit those changes and consider restoring most of what you reverted. (I'd do it myself, but I work at WWTV, and while I'm comfortable editing the page for grammatical or vandalism issues, I try to stay out of any actual content editing per WP:COIEDIT.)

Specifically, the entire deleted section on on-air talent didn't need to be deleted, but the sentence in the middle about Kevin Essebaggers can be removed or edited as he left the station earlier this year. And the section changing the location of the Traverse City news and sales office and adding Lake Effect Digital and MyNorth was correct. The station's Traverse City offices are no longer on Aero Park Drive.

Thanks for considering!  Space-Age Meat  16:52, 19 October 2023 (UTC)

@Space-Age Meat (talk page stalker) I suspect Mvcg removed the alumni list not only because it was unsourced but because none of those people have their own articles. We only list people who have articles, and not even Sarah Whitcomb Foss does (her name redirects to our article at Jeopardy!). If you can find a source for the Traverse City office and include it (even a Contact Us listing per WP:ABOUTSELF), it would go a long way. I'd still mention McGowan and Essebaggers if they were there for some time—not as part of a "notable alumni" listing but because they were key to the station over a long period (e.g. Jim King in WQAD-TV which I recently refurbished).
