Hello Misza13. I'm trying to use your status template for my user and user talk pages, but there is a bit of a problem with it. Whenever I click in, busy, or out, then it just appears to clear my status, thus causing me to have to change it manually. Besides that, it appears to be good. I also had a bit of a problem with MiszaBot III recently where it wasn't archiving my talk page when it is set to. I tried to recopy the User:MiszaBot/config template, and I'll let you know if it still doesn't work.--DisturbedNerd99904:45, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure why wouldn't it work, unless you're using Internet Exploder? I've heard it might be incompatible. If not, can you paste one of the links the extension creates? I'll check if they're correct. Миша1311:12, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I guessed it might be that. I had to fiddle with the offending links to get them into the archive. Always going to be a problem when someone reports a spamlink and then it gets blacklisted. Black Kite00:06, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, just as a quick note but MiszaBot has been "offline" since 8 February. Not sure if it has to do with the replag on the tool server, but I figured I'd mention it. Thanks. --ShakataGaNai^_^07:32, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia Signpost — 2 March 2009
This week, the Wikipedia Signpost published volume 5, issue 9, which includes these articles:
Hi, I have been receiving 2 newsletters on my talk page with the same issue for a few months, now this might just be a glitch or something but I thought I might tell u. Adam Penale (talk) 11:47, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You're probably listed twice on the participant list, possibly with different usernames (the bot just follows redirects and doesn't resolve duplicates). Миша1322:11, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For some reason MiszaBot I just archived a section at Talk:Wii to Talk:Wii/Archive 1 despite the fact that the archive is currently up to 28 (Archive 1 was from 2005). Could you take a look at it? Also, shouldn't that section be fixed and moved to the right archive target? TJSpyke05:37, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there I think I have assembled together some real wikinews categories at wikinews Portal:Roads/Wikipedia which should screen out transport airplanes, trains and boats, and leave me with autos, trucks and cars, ie road type articles. In the transport category, there are some articles I think which should arise like a bus accident and what not. Is there something I am doing wrong still. Do I have to rename my wikinews portal to a different name as there are no highways categories, but portal transport is already doing news pick up as well. It says no articles to be found, do articles have to be very current to be picked up? Any advise would be appreciated. SriMesh | talk18:02, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Seems to work now. On a side note, however, I don't think you wanted news about nuclear submarines to show up... Миша1317:16, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Vexing botIII Issue
Hello and thanks for your work with the archiving bots. I had set up a template on my talk page on 24.Feb and the bot came by fine on that day and did a nice job archiving as anticipated. Since that day, though, i've had no further clean-ups despite threads matching the algorithm parameter. I've tried dwindling the min-related values to make sure that it would archive some thread, but have not had it trigger further archiving. Can you see what i'm missing here? Thanks. Quaeler (talk) 15:43, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks much for determining the error. Is there the actual code for the bot which i could view by which i could debug situations without needing to bother you? Thanks again. Quaeler (talk) 18:40, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's part of the pywikipedia framework as archivebot.py. But the code won't tell you a bit without access to actual execution logs, which are not publicly available. Миша1319:35, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the pointer to the python archive. I see what you mean concerning the log information — perhaps an error condition to log to the talk page attempting to be archived (as long as it's a talk page and not an article) as well as where ever the private logs are? At any rate, thanks again for your work. Quaeler (talk) 19:51, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It might be nice for the tracking reports to have a total count of articles in all the subcategories. If it isn't too hard to add, and doesn't break things that use the tracking reports.
It would be nice to be able to tell trends in overall numbers by comparing old versions of a report like User:MiszaBot/Trackers/CAT:ORPHAN. Thanks. Zodon (talk) 18:39, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Any idea as to why User:MiszaBot isn't archiving my talk page anymore? It was working perfectly forever but since I came back from my "break" of several months and restored my userpage as it was before I left, it hasn't worked. I didn't change any of the coding or anything. -✰ALLST☆R✰echo15:38, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's at User talk:Allstarecho/utalk/content, which is templated/substd into my talk page and which is where it's always been and where it's always worked before. I took off from WP about 4, 5 months so I cleared out my talk page. When I came back, I just simply restored the content. Which means, it should just start working again because it was before. Does this make sense? lol -✰ALLST☆R✰echo22:46, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not subst'd, it's only on a template on a subpage. Just think from the bot's perspective - it doesn't see the template when examining the code of your talk page, so ignores it. You didn't seriously expect the bot to search for it in every template transcluded there? Also, no, you apparently didn't "just simply restored the content". Look at the header in the last revision before you blanked it. It's there, so it makes perfect sense that it was working back then. Миша1300:43, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing it out. I sure don't remember moving it from the actual talk page to the template but obviously I did. Thanks for the smack back into reality. ;] -✰ALLST☆R✰echo01:06, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For some reason, Misza is unable to archive the first topic on the talk page of WP:CITE. The topic is titled "Retrieval dates for online versions of old printed sources, again". I hesitate to archive it myself, since I don't want to throw the bot out of sync or something. Do you think you could take a look at it and help Misza to archive it? Thanks. ---- CharlesGillingham (talk) 06:46, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Generally, you can, but they won't be interpreted as such. I supposed it only makes sense in the archiveheader parameter. On the other hand, why not RTFM and use %(month)02d instead? Миша1319:19, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Quick question - I need to subst my archiveheader for it to work (see User talk:Neurolysis/A). How should I tell MiszaBot to add this? The howto doesn't seem to tell me whether to put the archiveheader parameter in curly braces, so I am wondering whether I would just use '|archiveheader=subst:User talk:Neurolysis/A'? Thanks again, — neuro(talk)(review)17:32, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I missed it, sorry. No, the parameter's value is put verbatim as a header of new archive pages, so there have to be curly braces. But then again, instead of substing it, I bel.ieve something like |archiveheader={{User talk:Neurolysis/A|%(monthname)s}} should do the trick (the month's name should be filled in when creating a new archive page). Миша1321:21, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We are now dividing our members into active and inactive. You are active on Wikipedia but I see you've not edited any Poland-related articles in in many months. I will create a category for users with such an editing pattern; please consider participating in our project activities again in the future.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 17:33, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Forgive me, but I do not have the programmer nature. I've read the FAQ and still can't figure out why the above isn't archiving. It's got posts on there from January 2007! --Orange Mike | Talk20:00, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Quite possibly because the archiving code was added today and the bot doesn't run continuously (only at scheduled hours). Sheesh, research, please. Миша1321:08, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This bot archives pages in the Wikipedia:, Wikipedia talk: and Template talk: namespaces. If you want me to enable it for other Project namespaces (Portal talk: etc), just drop me a note
It doesn't have to be enabled; it's User:MiszaBot III that already handles the entire User talk: namespace. However, I'm afraid it won't work correctly anyway; not only because the archiving template is included incorrectly, but mainly due to your talk page being horribly corrupted (you have threads at different levels (ie. with different numbers of equation marks in titles), that would confuse the hell out of the bot). Миша1311:24, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've replied at my talk. Note as far as I can tell the config is only transcluded once, it is also nowiki'd in there, I believe Hopiakutu wants a visible note with the code. –xeno (talk)13:27, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
