User talk:Michig/Archive9Misterlee errataThere are a few minor updates/revisions that may add to this otherwise accurate entry. Chiselgibbon and Night of the Killer Longface were both solo albums by Lee Allatson with no contribution from Jamie Smith or Michael Oxtoby. The recording session planned with Albini in 2006 never took place. Michael Oxtoby was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and unable to fly. It has never been re-sheduled. The name JP Smith is incorrect. It should be Jamie Smith. The P stands for 'pirate' and is a nickname, not a middle name. The name Michael Curtis Oxtoby is incorrect, 'Curtis' being a nick name, not a middle name. The band has never performed in Europe as stated. Michael Oxtoby left the band in December 2007 to live in Cornwall, UK. The band now consists of Lee Allatson and Jamie Smith only. 'This Disquiet Dog' is performed and recorded by both Lee Allatson and Jamie Smith with a cameo performance by Michael Oxtoby. It was recorded at Jamie Smith's Owlhouse Studio, South Leicestershire and due for release later this year. Jamiepirate (talk) 09:03, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
First of all, nice work improving this article. Unfortunately we have a slight problem - you copied and pasted the text into main space after improving it. This violates our licensing terms since it removes that attribution of edits done by other users. You can fix this one of two ways:
Both options have the same result, but the first is easier on our admins. If you have any questions, let me know. --ThaddeusB (talk) 18:49, 22 July 2009 (UTC)
Filthy LucreHi. :) I just wanted to let you know that I deleted Filthy Lucre (band) as a G6, since the actual article is at Filthy Lucre. We run into this at WP:CP now and again. In this case, somebody hijacked the original at Filthy Lucre to advertise a nightclub event. I've restored the original text and left the contributor a note about these situations at his or her talk page. (This hijacking is not unusual; that this person cared enough to do a copy & paste move is. :) At least he or she was trying to preserve the original material.) Anyway, I don't imagine that my deletion of this will be controversial with you, since the content is all at the other page, but since you declined an A7 on it, I just thought I'd let you know. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:31, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
Hello Michig ! I noticed that you were extending the article about Mateo & Matos musical duo. I have created an article about Eddie Matos (musician), but was unable to retrieve any additional references within google, could you take an additional look if you find anything usefull about him ? Thank you ! -- Prunk (talk) 08:52, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

wow, michig, nice article. i love to see an article spring fully formed from the loins of its creator :) - references are perfect, plenty of detail - can't fault it! --Kaini (talk) 23:21, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Good editing on Nicki MinajHi Michig. Your addition of the bio material that I removed from the lead sentence looks good. Hopefully all is good? TIA --Tom (talk) 19:17, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
R&B punkI spend a lot of time going through the genre categories looking for made-up terms that should be deleted, which is how I found R&B punk. I agree with your sentiments on the talk page. Given you have reviewed the sources cited in the article, would you agree that the article should be put up for AFD again? WesleyDodds (talk) 12:02, 13 August 2009 (UTC) ANII started a report at ANI. I see you've been busy on The Jives' entry. Not sure what you mean by your note of 17 Aug:"added genuine sources" - you mean the sources I had added were not genuine? Or does "genuine sources" have a special meaning in wikiland? Johnalexwood (talk) 23:35, 18 August 2009 (UTC) I get it - many thanks Johnalexwood (talk) 00:00, 20 August 2009 (UTC) Thanks for the help editing the article. I've been too busy today to finish up the rewrite it needed to keep it from being deleted -- Foetusized (talk) 21:14, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
TestsI deleted the page because its contents were, essentially, <math><math>Insert formula here</math>Media, repeated ad nauseam for 40 lines. Trust me - if I delete a talk page as "test", there was no valid content there. There are too many different subjects for me to remember the talk page template for each one, and I'm overloaded as is. Feel free to create templated talk pages as needed. DS (talk) 17:24, 22 August 2009 (UTC) British/English Scientologts catIt's about time I added a Scientologist category to The Jive Aces entry but I have a confusion about the British/English aspect of this category. Other members are in as English Scientologists and others as British Scientologists, and others as both British and English. How should they be categorized? If you let me know, I'll clean up any wrong ones, and add The Jives correctly. Johnalexwood (talk) 09:47, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Jon the PostmanYes - it's clearly not provable that Longuniongirl is the IP, although there's a very loud quacking sound. I'll keep an eye on that account - if it edits that article again after it's autoconfirmed (or does anything else dubious) I'll block it. Black Kite 18:59, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Satanic WarmasterI appreciate your concerns about MusicMight but rule of thumb: the editors are listed on the right hand side of the screen. If the editor is "Taniwha", that is Garry Sharpe-Young, and hence a reliable source (and also something he has edited since the site became user-edited). If there are no other editors the source is still fine. If no editors are listed, the material was written before the site allowed user-editing and is therefore written by Sharpe-Young (this applies to the Satanic Warmaster-related articles at present, and archive versions will be easy to link to). If others have edited a page then reliability cannot be guaranteed. The guy bitching about the SW article clearly does not understand either WP:RS or WP:BLP; an artist's anonymity is not protected under BLP. Copyright lawI have noticed your comment about copyright on Data added's talk page, and I have made a response there. JamesBWatson (talk) 15:00, 14 September 2009 (UTC) I have now also noticed your edit summary "declined speedy deletion - the copyvios can be fixed without deleting the entire article". This is not the correct way to deal with a copyright violation, as the copyright material still remains publicly available in the history of the article. The correct method is to delete the article and then rewrite it without the copyright violating material. JamesBWatson (talk) 15:10, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Hello, Michig. You have new messages at JamesBWatson's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template. The DogsRe: Your message - I have removed your proposed deletion tag from this article. The group had both hit albums and hit singles and significant coverage exists. Proposed deletion is for uncontroversial deletions only - any group or artist that has had a hit single or album will not be an uncontroversial deletion. Please also note that if another editor removes a prod tag from an article, it should not be re-added. If you still believe that an article should be deleted after an editor has removed a prod tag, the correct course of action, after making a good faith attempt to find sources yourself that could be used to improve the article, is to list the article at WP:AFD. Thanks.--Michig (talk) 07:17, 15 September 2009 (UTC)
Would you take another look at this article, especially in light of User talk:Automaticshoes? It seems we have a block-evading editor who still hasn't learned not to use copyrighted text. I can't make sense of what's taken from where, but it's apparent there's a lot of copyvio stuff. 98.248.33.198 (talk) 23:25, 26 September 2009 (UTC) Please state the conflict of interest for Crushed Butler, as we all thought all was ok, as you have re-edted these sections. None of the articles are in anyway breaching copyright as all are public domain etc. The articles were written and used on the album UNCRUSHED, which I own the copyright to from 1998 Thanks for your help Best Darryl Read (catwizard777) —Preceding unsigned comment added by CatWizard777 (talk • contribs) 10:45, 29 September 2009 (UTC) CatWizard777 (talk) 12:30, 11 October 2009 (UTC) Hi team Can we ask you to hold on this page, and ask exactly what you need to verify all. I was looking for the final song on the table I made that listed the original songs Scientist sampled from to complete his album for ages! It's very much like a scavenger hunt. Anyways, thanks again! Also...you wouldn't happen to know who sings "Extra Time 4" on "Scientist Wins the World Cup" would you? I've been looking for that person/original song too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fulumin (talk • contribs) 20:33, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use ImagesThanks for uploading Image:ModernEnglish.jpeg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself. If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 18:44, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
