Misterlee errata

There are a few minor updates/revisions that may add to this otherwise accurate entry.

Chiselgibbon and Night of the Killer Longface were both solo albums by Lee Allatson with no contribution from Jamie Smith or Michael Oxtoby.

The recording session planned with Albini in 2006 never took place. Michael Oxtoby was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and unable to fly. It has never been re-sheduled.

The name JP Smith is incorrect. It should be Jamie Smith. The P stands for 'pirate' and is a nickname, not a middle name.

The name Michael Curtis Oxtoby is incorrect, 'Curtis' being a nick name, not a middle name.

The band has never performed in Europe as stated.

Michael Oxtoby left the band in December 2007 to live in Cornwall, UK. The band now consists of Lee Allatson and Jamie Smith only.

'This Disquiet Dog' is performed and recorded by both Lee Allatson and Jamie Smith with a cameo performance by Michael Oxtoby. It was recorded at Jamie Smith's Owlhouse Studio, South Leicestershire and due for release later this year.

The Trashwomen

First of all, nice work improving this article. Unfortunately we have a slight problem - you copied and pasted the text into main space after improving it. This violates our licensing terms since it removes that attribution of edits done by other users.

You can fix this one of two ways:

Choice 1
  • redo an additional edits that happened after mainspace pasting in your user space copy (this won't violate attribution since all the edits were done by you)
  • tag the mainspace copy with {{db-g7}}
  • after its deleted use the move button to move your userspace copy to mainspace
Choice 2

Filthy Lucre

Hi. :) I just wanted to let you know that I deleted Filthy Lucre (band) as a G6, since the actual article is at Filthy Lucre. We run into this at WP:CP now and again. In this case, somebody hijacked the original at Filthy Lucre to advertise a nightclub event. I've restored the original text and left the contributor a note about these situations at his or her talk page. (This hijacking is not unusual; that this person cared enough to do a copy & paste move is. :) At least he or she was trying to preserve the original material.) Anyway, I don't imagine that my deletion of this will be controversial with you, since the content is all at the other page, but since you declined an A7 on it, I just thought I'd let you know. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:31, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your appreciation. The fact that there was previously no article about him shows in my view what a long way Wikipedia still has to go before it can be considered comprehensive - a lot of the top Jamaican musicians from the 1940s - 1960s have no article or articles that don't do them justice. Yes, thanks. I think a lot of people trim article ledes assuming that stuff that shouldn't be there is already covered elsewhere but end up removing information from the article. I spend a lot of time going through the genre categories looking for made-up terms that should be deleted, which is how I found R&B punk. I agree with your sentiments on the talk page. Tests

I deleted the page because its contents were, essentially, <math><math>Insert formula here</math>Media, repeated ad nauseam for 40 lines. Trust me - if I delete a talk page as "test", there was no valid content there.

British/English Scientologts cat

It's about time I added a Scientologist category to The Jive Aces entry but I have a confusion about the British/English aspect of this category. Other members are in as English Scientologists and others as British Scientologists, and others as both British and English. How should they be categorized? I appreciate your concerns about MusicMight but rule of thumb: the editors are listed on the right hand side of the screen. If the editor is "Taniwha", that is Garry Sharpe-Young, and hence a reliable source (and also something he has edited since the site became user-edited). If there are no other editors the source is still fine. If no editors are listed, the material was written before the site allowed user-editing and is therefore written by Sharpe-Young (this applies to the Satanic Warmaster-related articles at present, and archive versions will be easy to link to). If others have edited a page then reliability cannot be guaranteed. The guy bitching about the SW article clearly does not understand either WP:RS or WP:BLP; an artist's anonymity is not protected under BLP. Blackmetalbaz (talk) 15:21, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have now also noticed your edit summary "declined speedy deletion - the copyvios can be fixed without deleting the entire article". This is not the correct way to deal with a copyright violation, as the copyright material still remains publicly available in the history of the article. Please state the conflict of interest for Crushed Butler, as we all thought all was ok, as you have re-edted these sections. I couldn't find anything on the web either. It isn't essential to have web-accessible references, but without them it's difficult (for others) to tell how significant the coverage in those articles is. We still need to wait until this is confirmed from a genuinely reliable source. The only semi-reliable source that I found states that "according to unconfirmed reports...." she has died.
