User talk:Mdk572RetiredI am no longer monitoring this talk page. Messages will not be read. DaddyThanks for sharing that. :( 842U (talk) 04:56, 23 February 2010 (UTC) Edit dispute resolvedFrom Wikipedia:Reliable sources Seems appropriate to use as a criticism in the article, as long as you specify the source ("... journal of animal liberation group ..." or something like that). The fact that a show about animals is criticized by animal rights activists is important, and ICAS and/or CALA seem like a notable animal rights journal and organization respectively from what you've written here and our article. It is an edited journal, which says nothing about neutral, all that means is that it's not just one person ranting, the article is approved by some kind of organization. We can't expect criticism to come from NPOV sources, criticism is inherently POV. I also think the fact that she's a theatre student isn't important; the fact that her criticism was published in an animal rights magazine seems the important part to me. --GRuban (talk) 23:14, 26 February 2010 (UTC) Marj (talk) 00:59, 8 March 2010 (UTC) Thanks......for your help with the article dog!Chrisrus (talk) 00:50, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Orlady (talk) 16:02, 4 September 2011 (UTC) FACOK, I'll have a look at the dog over the next few days. It's a lot tougher than GAN. Make sure everything is consistent with WP:MOS, eg ndashes for page ranges, check the prose for any ambiguities or grammatical errors. Refs must be impeccably RS, and formatted consistently. You may be spot-checked for close paraphrasing of sources too. It might be worth having a look at the type of comments made at current noms. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:47, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Inquisitive minds
Many thanks!! It was a bit like my skydiving experience: traumatic at every step, but ultimately of value. I'm glad I did it but will probably never do it again :-) Marj (talk) 23:25, 16 November 2011 (UTC)
DogNice to meet you yesterday. For The Signpost's next edition of "Featured Content" can you feed me any morsels that might be interesting to readers, such as how you came to be interested in the topic in the first place, and whether your view of the breed changed as you researched and wrote the article. You could email me any response. Tony (talk) 15:39, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
It was good to talk to you Tony, and Ruby, I'll put something together today. You were missed Cas. Marj (talk) 19:26, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Orlady (talk) 05:04, 23 November 2011 (UTC) 16:03, 23 November 2011 (UTC) Many hands make light work...Funny how much momentum one gains when someone else is helping - am thinking Crescent Honeyeater is jammed with about every fact I can think of and formatted. Given you've been helping so much, wanna do a co-nom at FAC? Casliber (talk · contribs) 14:57, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
Yellow-faced GARThe only real outstanding issue is a bunch of stuff that is in the Handbook of the Birds of the World that probably isn't in the sources you have, which would be unreasonable to expect you to add. Most of it isn't to important, but for the completeness sake I'll add it tomorrow, give you a chance to look it over and then pass it. Sabine's Sunbird talk 05:51, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
Cattle dogHi Marj, just a thought - would you mind if I nominated Australian Cattle Dog for the main page for the 26th? Thought it might be nice for a nod to the holiday, and it's a very nice new shiny FA. Cheers, Iridia (talk) 04:38, 18 January 2012 (UTC) Hi Iridia, I think it would be good on that date, if you are happy to nominate it. Marj (talk) 04:41, 18 January 2012 (UTC) Ok, cheers! I'll put it up after the blackout. Iridia (talk) 04:57, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
Main page appearance: Australian Cattle DogThis is a note to let the main editors of Australian Cattle Dog know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on January 26, 2012. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/January 26, 2012. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask featured article director Raul654 (talk · contribs) or his delegate Dabomb87 (talk · contribs), or start a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. The blurb as it stands now is below:

FAC then....Apart from name derivation, I can't think of anything else to add. Did you want to do anything else before FAC? Reconciling the subspecies - the Australian Faunal Directory goes for four too......Casliber (talk · contribs) 02:07, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
????I have no idea what this means, hope you are ok: "Thanks for your help again this semester. I know I can count on you year in and year out but this semester has just been fantastic. Thanks again!"842U (talk) 10:32, 2 August 2012 (UTC) I have previously thanked you for demonstrating edit warring, sock puppetry, forum shopping, personal attacks, fraudulent use of references, bullying, and other practices that I would otherwise not have encountered, but you have recently expanded my knowledge significantly further - who knew wikihounding even existed? As I say "thanks" Marj (talk) 21:06, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
Wanted your help!Sorry to see you are not editing. Will message you. Pelagic26 (talk) 23:52, 19 October 2012 (UTC) Hi! A French contributor noticed the sentence "The eggs are an elongated oval 24 centimetres (9.4 in) by 17 centimetres (6.7 in)". Could you tell us it is a mistake, for the female sake :D Best regards, Totodu74 (talk) 15:13, 7 February 2013 (UTC) Invitation to Sydney editathon - Saturday 23rd NovemberIs there any chance that meeting up with friendly Sydneysiders might tempt you out of retirement? There is a backstage pass coming up to be followed by an editathon in the State Library of New South Wales on Saturday 23 November. I'm hoping you might be able to make it down the big smoke for the occasion. This is the first time that an Australian cultural institution has opened its doors to us in this way and will be a special opportunity because the Library is providing: one of its best rooms; its expert curators (along with their expertise and their white gloves); a newly launched website (containing new resources); and of course, items from its collection (including rare and usually unavailable material) which we can look at, learn from, and use, to improve WP articles. For example, on the chosen topic (Australia and WWI), the Library holds many diaries and manuscripts from the period. As you can see from the Library's project page, they have connected this editathon with their own work. They have already set out a wide range of resources to make things easier for us. Please sign up on the editathon project page if you can participate either online or in person with other Wikipedians. Hope to see you there! 99of9 (talk) 11:07, 19 November 2013 (UTC) Hi, Wikipedia:Citing sourcesHello User:Mdk572, I understand that this username has been retired and you are editing under another username, however I have assumed that you visit this page from time to time.
At 12:06 on 20 February 2010 you made an edit to the Dog page with an edit summary of "As pets: Included information under heading". Amongst the text provided was one sentence: "Another study of dogs’ roles in families showed that many dogs have set tasks or routines undertaken as family members, the most common of which was helping with the washing-up by licking the plates in the dishwasher, and bringing in the newspaper from the lawn."[1] The provided citation was Power, E - "Furry Families: Making a Human-Dog Family through Home"[1] Although I believe that your edit was WP:AGF, unfortunately you did not comply with WP:CITE as your information came from a poor quality website that provided a mistruth using Power as the cited source - Power said no such thing. As a result, Wikipedia has reflected this mistruth for the past 6 years. If you had have cited the website instead, another editor may have questioned its quality a long time ago and got to the truth. Please keep this in mind in your future edits - low-quality websites and media articles can trick anyone.
