I've completed my review. There are a few things for you to address. For whatever reason the bot hasn't notified you. Chris Troutman (talk) 20:11, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

Yes, you're right...

...the rape with the penis was with the Catlady, while the rape of the writer's wife is the one he does to "Singin' in the Rain":

"Once inside, Alex beats and kicks the home’s owner, writer Mr. Frank Alexander, while mimicking a soft shoe dance routine and singing a musical number. After the droogs shove balls into the mouths of Alexander and his wife and wrap their heads in tape, Alex rapes Mrs. Alexander as Mr. Alexander watches helplessly." - From the AFI Catalog entry for Clockwork Orange.

The film received mostly negative reviews.--Paleface Jack (talk) 01:14, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

@Paleface Jack: The film received generally negative reviews from Rotten Tomatoes, Oh, the Horror!, and Bloodbath & Beyond, while Mondo Digital, HorrorNews.net, and HorrorTalk gave it generally positive reviews. To analyse that simply, that's half and half, so it'd make sense to say that the film received mixed reviews. If anything, we could always get rid of the generalised mention of overall reception entirely. –Matthew - (talk) 01:17, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

There should also have more reviews if possible since there is only 3 of 4 mentioned.--Paleface Jack (talk) 15:55, 1 March 2017 (UTC)

Hallo, When you create an article like this which needs a "disambiguation" in the title, don't forget to make a link so that readers can find it when they look for Stuart. In this case it needed to be added to the disambiguation page at that basic title (I've done it): sometimes it'll be a matter of adding a hatnote to an article, or expanding a hatnote. But whichever way it needs to be done, it'll help the readers who want to find out about your topic. Thanks. PamD 07:52, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

@PamD: Ah whoops, that was just me being forgetful. Thanks for reminding me though. –Matthew - (talk) 10:04, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of The Jar [result: page kept]

The article The Jar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Note: The prod tag was applied by an anonymous IP--I'm just forwarding the notification as a courtesy. --Finngall talk 02:30, 13 March 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia & Youtube Project

Hi MatthewHoobin,

My name’s Alex. I’m a student at American University, and I’m working on a project on Wikipedia and Youtube. I noticed you made a relatively large amount of edits to the List of Youtubers Wikipedia page and I was wondering if I could get your input on a few questions.

1. After talking to a few Wikipedians and doing some research, it seems as though Youtubers have a harder time obtaining a Wikipedia page and/or higher quality pages than other “traditional” professions. Do you agree with this assessment? If so, why do you think this is?

2. What could Wikipedia change to better accommodate notable figures from newer platforms like Youtube? What could Youtube do to better live up to Wikipedia standards?

3. If you could change the guidelines on Notability in any way, what changes would you make and why? If not, why do you think they’re stable enough that future societal progression could still be covered equally?

I look forward to hearing back from you.

PROD of Monkey Shines (video game)

Hi, you recently proposed Monkey Shines (video game) for deletion, saying the topic was not notable, as well as saying the article was insufficiently sourced and poorly laid out. Could you please explain why you believe the topic to be non-notable, and add your reason to the PROD rationale? Thank you. Linguisttalk|contribs 15:52, 14 May 2017 (UTC)

@Linguist: According to Wikipedia's general notability guideline (WP:GNG), notability is generally established through significant coverage of the topic by reliable secondary sources. I looked up "monkey shines video game" and "monkey shines 1997". These searches resulted in coverage by TV Tropes (which, as a wiki, is not inherently reliable), forums (which are considered questionable sources under WP:RSSELF), and a source on the Internet Archive which appears to simply be a mirror (this source can be found here). On these grounds, the topic of the article doesn't appear notable. Additionally, the only citations in the article point to GitHub, which is just a file repository, and Rate Your Music, an unreliable collaborative database. In regards to the article being poorly laid out, its structure is very different in comparison to other video game articles:
  • The gameplay is explained heavily in the introductory paragraph.
  • The article does not contain an infobox, though these are optional.
  • The game's soundtrack is listed in a section called "Audio", with a citation in the section heading (which violates MOS:HEAD).
  • Two whole sections are allotted for crediting those involved with the game. Neither of the sections contain any reliable sources, and "Credits" sections are vastly uncommon for video game articles.
  • The section "External links and references" contains dead links, unnecessary links, and unreliable links, some of which are redundantly added to the "References" section that follows it.

Deletion discussion about Dadcula [result: page deleted]

Hello, MatthewHoobin,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Dadcula should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dadcula .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Userbox

Hey Matt, do you make userboxes on request? You've created some of the finest userboxes about movies around. :-) SLIGHTLYmad 16:44, 5 September 2017 (UTC)

@Slightlymad: Thanks! I usually make them of my own accord, and nobody's ever asked for requests. But hey, if you have some userbox suggestions then I'd be glad to see what I can do! –Matthew - (talk) 23:26, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
Awesome. Dunno if you have seen the movie Nightcrawler starring Jake Gyllenhaal, but I was thinking you'd create one (or two) on behalf of fans of that movie (including myself, obviously). It should go like this: "This user is a stringer who prowls Los Angeles to film late-night violent incidents for KWLA 6." or "This user's motto is if you wanna win the lottery, you have to make the money to buy a ticket." Another userbox suggestion would be about Wikipedians who are fans of B movies. SLIGHTLYmad 05:23, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
Oo yeah, I'll see what I can do with that. I've indeed seen Nightcrawler and I'll whip something up in my spare time. Cheers! –Matthew - (talk) 19:45, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
By the way, I changed my mind about the B movie box: just make one about fans of crime films. Again, thanks. SLIGHTLYmad 08:56, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

Your collection

That's quite a collection of DVD and Blu-rays you have, mate! Do you, per chance, have the ancient DVD copy of Species? I was thinking of using its 8-page booklet as a source in that article, as I have decided to bring it first to the A-class quality and then FA. Regards, Slightlymad 07:22, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

@Slightlymad: I'm afraid I don't. That being said, I'd be willing to purchase that eBay copy there for the sake of my collection and for the quality of the film's article, but it'd probably be in early February when it arrives to my home. If you'd prefer to buy it instead, then let me know. Cheers! –Matthew - (talk) 20:12, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
Nah, you carry on and buy it; I don't live in the US, nor is eBay a thing where I come from anyway. Please email me a copy of the booklet when you get your hands on it. Thanks, Slightlymad 01:54, 22 January 2018 (UTC)
Will do! –Matthew - (talk) 10:44, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

@Slightlymad: The DVD came in the mail today! I scanned the pages of the booklet and present them to you below:

Good luck with bringing it to FA status, and cheers! –Matthew - (talk) 20:21, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
