A tag has been placed on Alexander Famitsin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://archive.org/stream/dictionaryofmusi02grov_1/dictionaryofmusi02grov_1_djvu.txt. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. CAPTAIN RAJU(T) 23:30, 7 January 2021 (UTC) Wikipedia and copyrightHello Marino108LFS! (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. Onel5969 TT me 18:24, 6 February 2021 (UTC) September 2021Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Arago's rotations, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Jessicapierce (talk) 20:03, 28 September 2021 (UTC) ArbCom 2021 Elections voter messageFigure and motifHi, thanks adding a lot of PD material to the Figure (music) article. However I have a few concerns about the text added:
Obviously the article had a lot of issues before you added this material too. It appears that definitions are not very settled anyway. But it appears that most of them agree that figure is the broader concept of smaller musical idea, while motif is a figure which occurs in melody, or is otherwise more important in structuring the music. So I think most of the material (especially the examples, which I think are mostly very useful) is really about motifs, and would be better in that article. It might be best for the figure article to go back to being a shorter article, just adding information about accompaniment figures (which are not motifs) and pointing through to motifs for the more important figures in music. Does this seem sensible way of making the most of the useful information you added? Thanks Mozzy66 (talk) 00:31, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
