Question from Zamino926Good day. I'm new to Wikipedia editing. I would like to add (edit) basic information on this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska_House_of_Representatives then under this heading: Current members (33rd Alaska State Legislature). Specifically, I wish to edit this section to add basic information for Representative Cliff Groh, #18 on this list. Thank you, Zamino926. Zamino926 (talk) 20:53, 14 August 2023 (UTC)

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Trying to AGF, I can only assume the editor working on the draft somehow mixed up the citations as they added them in, because they all seem to be titled wrong and attached to statements they don't support. From my initial search, I don't think the article will survive anyways due to notability, but I find copyediting and source-checking strangely soothing even if it might get deleted. Seeing users with an impressive track record like your own makes me want to strive more though, I'm planning to try to start contributing to more new content and get hands-on with citing references, which has unnecessarily intimidated me for awhile, lol. Thanks for all your contributions to en.wiki, you're an inspiration! 🙌 Chiselinccc (talk) 08:50, 18 February 2024 (UTC) MarchSpeedy deletion nomination of Skyeskyns
A tag has been placed on Skyeskyns requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Theroadislong (talk) 18:26, 6 March 2024 (UTC) RFA2024 update: no longer accepting new proposals in phase IHey there! This is to let you know that phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship (RfA) review is now no longer accepting new proposals. Lots of proposals remain open for discussion, and the current round of review looks to be on a good track towards making significant progress towards improving RfA's structure and environment. I'd like to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has given us their idea for change to make RfA better, and the same to everyone who has given the necessary feedback to improve those ideas. The following proposals remain open for discussion:
To read proposals that were closed as unsuccessful, please see Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/2024 review/Phase I/Closed proposals. You are cordially invited once again to participate in the open discussions; when phase I ends, phase II will review the outcomes of trial proposals and refine the implementation details of other proposals. Another notification will be sent out when this phase begins, likely with the first successful close of a major proposal. Porter and Jick letterThank you for this edit. However, this version should be restored, for reasons explained here. Your edit can then be integrated. Also, at Opioid epidemic in the United States, "published its rebuttal to" could be changed to "reexamined", since the problem was not the letter itself. 200.59.184.69 (talk) 16:00, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

TeahouseHa, it's not often that I'm told I didn't go far enough! Thanks, Drmies (talk) 14:12, 13 December 2024 (UTC) Teahouse Samantha Mills DiscussionThank you for helping me out in the teahouse! I wanted to leave this perspective just in case it is a useful lens for talking with other newcomers like me, no need to respond unless you want to. I really appreciate your taking the time to look into the notability of my page since you were putting time in to help me out, but unfortunately that is not how I felt when I read your comment in the teahouse. Instead, when I read it, it felt dismissive and condescending because you started the comment by disregarding my questions and pointing out where you thought I was incorrect, then answering another question. As a sidenote, in this case the other answer felt more frustrating to me because I had already put in a lot of time myself answering that question via wikipedia policy pages, so I didn't need it answered. I'm sure this impact wasn't your intention, and the general tone of your comment was friendly which was lovely! I'm sure that newcomers often don't know the right question to ask or are missing a ton of context on wikipedia policies, so there's a lot of judgment calls to make when helping them. I also appreciate that you left room for discussion in your comment and didn't leave a final word on the article's notability. The only reason I'm writing here is that I really appreciate the work you're doing and I think a slightly different phrasing could hopefully feel more friendly to newcomers in the future and not add too much time for you. One thing that might've been helpful would be to change how your comment began, rather than dismissing my questions from the start. Another thing would've been to throw me a bone with a pointer or two on my actual question before answering a different question, like explaining or linking to how article talk pages work like another commenter did. A last thing to look for might be that you aren't skipping any key info points in my question before disputing what I've said: in this case, I'd started off with her awards in the sentence about notability but you did not address this in your response. I think any of that would've felt friendlier even if you'd disagreed with my premise coming into the teahouse; I think it's just extra helpful to be nice and supportive in the teahouse when someone is entering there already feeling deflated because other editors have told them they've made mistakes.
