Demiurge1000 MDEVER802, good luck, and have fun. ----Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:04, 21 November 2011 (UTC) Re: ADX FlorenceI appreciate your enthusiasm, but I believe that the edits you've done to the "notable current inmates" section of the article ADX Florence have had the effect of making the section more disorganized. The table is now much larger in width, but contains little new information. Additionally, the dates of release have been removed and the "status" and "details" columns seem to be indistinguishable. The sorting functions of the columns have also been rendered useless since there is no uniformity and there are gaps of information in the "details" columns. Also, some of the references you have listed are broken or dead. If there are specific improvements that you are looking to make to the list I would like to help, but I'm not too sure what you are trying to do. – Zntrip 23:01, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
No problem. I like the way you linked the Register Number directly to the BOP website, great idea. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. -- JoannaSerah (talk) 08:12, 27 March 2012 (UTC) Your edits to ADX FlorenceFor the second time, you have removed factual information from this page without explanation. You don't see fit to include an Edit Summary to help your fellow editors tell what you're doing, which is not nice. The information you removed from the page can be verified on the BoP web site, which I did: 1. Thank you. — UncleBubba ( T @ C ) 03:54, 24 May 2012 (UTC) ResponseHi, sorry about that. According to the BOP Inmate Locator, Inmate Tex Hernandez (02536-748) has been transferred to USP Florence High and is no longer at Florence ADX. USP Florence High is located in the same complex as Florence ADX, but is a different facility and is not a supermax facility like ADX is. USP Florence High therefore has a separate wikipedia page. That's why I made the change. I moved Tex Hernandez to the USP Florence High page. Sorry I didn't explain my change when I first made it. Won't happen again. Still getting used to this thing... I have performed a web search with the contents of Federal Correctional Institution, Oakdale, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.saveonprisoncalls.com/federal/oakdale.htm. It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues. If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) MadmanBot (talk) 18:16, 5 July 2012 (UTC) Speedy deletion nomination of Federal Correctional Institution, Oakdale
A tag has been placed on Federal Correctional Institution, Oakdale requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Bulwersator (talk) 06:27, 6 September 2012 (UTC) Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to == Notable inmates == I see that you are trying to clean up prison articles Wikipedia-wide. However, I wonder if it matters if a notable inmate is still held at a facility? In other types of articles, such as universities, we mention notable former professors even if they moved to other institutions. Or take the case of Rafael Cancel Miranda, held at Alcatraz and then transferred to Leavenworth. Does this mean that the Alcatraz article should not list him as a notable inmate? Anyway, your talk page reminds me of my own when I started editing Wikipedia, with lots of slightly aggrieved users posting. I used to think that one could not make progress editing without bruising a few egos, but nowadays have found that appeals to consensus are far more effective. Jprg1966 (talk) 15:30, 14 December 2012 (UTC) Sometime we throw the baby out with the bathwater in order to get the message across, plus its easier to revert them all and force person who wants the changes to conform. My edit summary refers to these edits: [1] [2] where you removed three inmates you apparently do not think should be listed. That would be going off your opinion as opposed to the reliable sources that say those folks were there. Regardless of any transfers, the list is a list of those who were incarcerated at the facility (or even detained, or in essence anyone who is there against their will). It is not a list of only those who spent a certain amount of time, or served their entire sentences there. People can be listed in every prison they served time at. And as to your comment on the talk page about the porn star, I'm sorry but please explain why a porn star should not be listed? Because they are a porn star? If that's the only reason, sorry, but that is not relevant. The only thing relevant would be if they are notable, and the guy has a Wikipedia article, which is usually the key indicator or notability for purposes of these listed in articles. The absolutely only other relevant issue would be whether or not there is a reliable source saying the person spent time at the facility. That's it. Otherwise we get into censorship and editorial selection, and Wikipedia is not censured. Otherwise, feel free to re-introduce the other edits. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject). Kelly hi! 01:19, 14 April 2013 (UTC) One big list?Hello! I know you do lots of wonderful work on lists of inmates in federals prisons, and I wanted to know what you think of creating one centralized list of current prisoners of the United States federal government? In addition to the lists of notable current and former inmates on the individual prison articles, one centralized list can be quite helpful for readers and easier to maintain. What are your thoughts? – Zntrip 20:42, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
Hey sorry it took me a bit to get back to you. Thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it! Regarding your idea, that would be one huge list indeed. You're proposing making one article entitled something like, "Notable Federal Prisoners"? Is that correct? MDEVER802 (talk) 20:48, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Personally, I like doing the separate facilities lists because they are not so overwhelmingly huge and I think more manageable. MDEVER802 (talk) 21:38, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Edit of "List of U.S. federal prisons" articleGreetings and felicitations. I noticed that in the List of U.S. federal prisons article that you deleted my comprehensive list of federal prisons by "short name", and I am wondering why (since your edit summary does not give a reason). Would you please help me to understand?—DocWatson42 (talk) 07:44, 30 May 2013 (UTC) Hi DocWatson42, sorry it took me a while to respond to you. I actually proposed deleting the "short name" section on the article's talk page a few days before I did it, you can check that out. I thought the section was unnecessary and redundant because the prison names are only three or four words long as it is. MDEVER802 (talk) 20:59, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
The BishopIf you want to nominate this page for deletion then you need to follow the three steps here. Just putting the template on the article isn't enough by itself.
