ImagesFor images from flickr, only those marked strictly CC-BY or CC-BY-SA are allowed. Both the "NC" and "ND" parts of the Lafferty image are considered problems. "No derivatives" is unfree because of the whole wiki nature of WP - just as one can edit and modify other people's text, we want to be able to edit any images. As for the "noncommercial" part, although Wikipedia itself is not considered commercial, it is expected that others should be able to use the content commercially if they so desire; the classic example given is selling printed copies of Wikipedia. The general concepts of what constitutes allowable free content are described more at Commons:COM:L; the short form is that images should be usable by anyone, for any purpose. --dave pape (talk) 17:56, 4 February 2010 (UTC) re removal of content per copyvio on Ian SomerhalderNote:this is a "cropped" archive. The WHOIS info says that a Ms Hutchins registered iansomerhalder.net on 12 August 2001 and that Mr Gardner has owned damonsalvatore.com since 29 September 2009. Ms Hutchins still owns iansomerhalder.net for at least the next 3 months, unless she renews it, though there is no active host for the domain. I'm not including their other info here for their privacy and google results bringing up this page if i were to put in their first names and contact info but you can look it up at http://whois.domaintools.com/ iansomerhalder.net was mostly a repository of information, copies of pretty much every piece of Ian info in the print media from across the planet. While i would say that for WP it would be better to cite the original publications iansomerhalder.net is a great means of finding out what is out there, especially from his early years. It is still available on archive.org http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://iansomerhalder.net You can read the "Ocean Drive" article from October 2002 that is used as a reference on the archive, here. Many of the articles included on iansomerhalder.net include at least a scan of the first page of the print version of the article, such as this one which i cite the online version of from Entertainment Weekly's current website in reference for Young Americans (TV series). Looking up when a fansite was created and checking an article history is the best way to see who copied from whom. Sometimes that information is not available. Then you would have to look to see what version of text is on the other site and see if there is a different version of the paragraph in the article history that maybe has typos or poor sentence structure that was fixed (which would indicate WP is the source and the other site is a copy). I recently removed copyvio episode summaries for Vampire Diaries. Easy rule of thumb, The CW is not going to copy the summary from Wikipedia :P Actor bios and copyvio can take more investigation :S which is why i rarely do it but Ian is one of the few people in my watchlist. While i do agree that "Ian is ... hot ... and ... should ... call me!" i still revert edits like that if i find them first. If you happen to also be a fan of Young Americans then feel most welcome to contribute to that article. It hadn't been touched in forever until i noticed the tag for lack of references. delirious & lost ☯ ~нuɢѕ~ 18:45, 10 May 2010 (UTC) User groupsHi,

Need Your Assistance on How to Properly Update Leeza Gibbons' Bio and PhotoHi there, my name is Bobby and I manage all of Leeza Gibbons' media online. We'd like to update her bio and photo on the Wikipedia page, but don't know how to properly do this. I tried posting a new photo and bio the other day and someone took it down. Can you help? So I moved it to guest stars, which, according to guest appearance is a one-three episode cast members. I posted that link and this one: recurring to his page, but it went ignored and removed. His last edit summary was: "Jay09 you need to stop being so controlling over this page, and let other people make edits. And just because you don't agree, doesn't mean they have to get removed. Guidelines for lead sections are specifically designed to provide a summation of why an individual is significant or important. The lede defines the topic, establishes context, explains why the subject is interesting or notable, and summarizes the most important points. Content supporting notability is critical information to present in the lede. Professional honors and awards, including Emmy Awards received clearly meet the criteria found at WP:ANYBIO and WP:ENT. Falling Skies ReceptionDo not write that it has a mixed response. It has a positive response based on a score of 70 on Metacritic. Just because a show has mixed reviews does not make it mixed. For example, Boardwalk Empire received some mixed reviews but it was still very well received. I am right and you are wrong. Favorable means positive. I myself only heard of the show this evening as it debuted on Slice here in Canada today (my sister berated me for not knowing despite being in the know on a lot of other Glee happenings); meanwhile, the third episode aired on Oxygen this evening on the south side of the pond as I call it. I feel disadvantaged because I don't know what is spam during an episode's airing; at one point, Emily was considered safe by one editor but was in fact the eliminated contestant. I'm wondering whether we need semi-protection on that page someday during episode airings, particularly the finale...but let's hope not. If anything, it might be necessary to know when this user logs on in her once every two months session and figure out what she's creating; thus, we can fact-check and make it neutral if it's worth keeping, and not have an issue with who created it (even though it rings of COI). She just knows about the shows before us, and we can always delete what isn't notable. CycloneGU (talk) 03:37, 27 June 2011 (UTC) RevengeI'm sorry I didn't know that. Amanda RighettiI respect your input and have not reverted. My question would be, if IMDb is not the source of this information, what is? These are not bluelinked titles, where the movie articles themselves would have supporting cites. episode listI do not have time to follow Wiki protocol here so please excuse. Please research "promotional" as it applies to Wiki copyright policies before you delete any more content on The Real Housewives of NJ episode page again. The particular content that you have repeatedly deleted is posted online at the NBCU media village, where it is freely available for promotional use. Your reason for repeatedly deleting the episode descriptions is/was, "copyright" violation, so maybe you will understand that it is not a copyright violation. There was a complaint on the main RHWONJ page about too much "promotional" info being used, but that is not the reason that you are giving for deleting it. Personally, I think that it is TOO promotional in nature, but as I first directed you, go look at many many other television show Wikis and you will see that many use the network promos for episode descriptions. I really hope that you don't want to make an issue of this because I don't have time for this right now, so can you make an issue with some other show if you must?68.37.29.229 (talk) 22:45, 2 August 2012 (UTC)

May I direct you to Wikipedia's non free use policy? Quoted from Wiki's page: "Other promotional material: Posters, programs, billboards, ads. >*************************************************************************< !!!!!!!This topic has been updated on my talk page and elsewhere. If you want to continue behaving like the "CopyVio"-police instead-of addressing the issue, have fun. Either way I will win-because I already know that I am correct, at this point I am mainly waiting to see what happens. Maybe you should ask yourself this question, "How could someone make legal claims of copyright protection on something that was distributed widely to the media and public as promotional material and media information?-and WHY would it be an issue to the content creator?" About the only thing that you are correct about is that the content was copied verbatim, which yes, is generally a "CopyVio"-but in this case it is "non-free Use" I assure you. Maybe English is not your language? Or you are so busy that you use a bot to find "CopyVio"-----but this is not what is meant by "CopyVio" even-though it is verbatim cut and paste. `ohsorrysignbot

Tomorrow PeopleI do not understand why the link to http://www.gopha.net/tomorrow has been removed from the wiki page for the Tomorrow People TV show. It may not be an official TP site for the 1973 version but it might as well be as it is the most comprehensive page in existence (and the only current/active one) and has been on the web since 1995 (even before Wikipedia). It has been on the TP wiki page for nearly as long as there's been one. There is no official web site for the 1973 version, and again, this is the closest there has ever been to one. In fact the company that put out the UK DVDs back in 2003-2004 copied every word off of my site since they had no data compiled themselves. Please reconsider. It is relevant to the show, has been apart of the premise since the show's original incarnation in 1973? That would be like removing information about the official doctor in a series of doctor who being a woman, it is historically significant.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Ninjawarriordex (talk • contribs)
SourcingHi, I notice that you undid an edit saying that sources were needed. Technically you only need to source something that might be challenged or is a quote. See WP:V. Editors are more picky when it comes to BLPs, but the article you reverted on was not a BLP. I see it's a new article, and there may be a history with the editor. I won't challenge the change, but just flagging up the question to be clear that, no, not everything requires a source.Span (talk) 18:00, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
linksSo sorry about the Resurrection links. I genuinely was unaware of that rule. It will not happen again. Resurrection Fan CCI update
Wizardman 21:36, 4 July 2014 (UTC) Red Band SocietyMy intention in adding an {{About}} to Red Band Society was not merely to link to the original series. There is a disambiguation issue: the English title under which Polseres vermelles is marketed is The Red Band Society, and on the English Wikipedia, The Red Band Society redirects to the article on the Catalan series; so confusion between the two series is certainly possible. My original edit made the reason for the {{About}} more clear, but I changed my mind and simplified the hatnote; maybe my original edit was better. I reverted your reversion of my edit on the assumption that you will agree that this is a valid use of {{About}}; if not, please let me know. See also my note on the talk page. Thank you. !Nice wall. !Thanks for all you put into the Battle Creek page!Looks great! So far all my contributions have been minor, and my knowledge of the complexities of setting up a page layout is almost nothing. I was thinking I would have to spend the next few weeks struggling to figure out how to get it all done and piece it all together as I had time, but you've got it looking great in almost no time! I appreciate the assist! Dlairman (talk) 16:10, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Somebody's Gotta Do ItMy edit [2] was not original research. That show airs on CNN. This is from the article. "Eight channels owned by Turner Broadcasting, including CNN, the parent of this web site, were blacked out in Dish homes for about a month, beginning on October 21. The channels were restored on November 21, and the contract for the channels is now believed to expire in early 2015." Removing the channel from their lineup effected the ratings. --SportsMaster (talk) 02:33, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

Stefan2 (talk) 00:24, 5 February 2015 (UTC) Your revert doesn't make sense. The series is not currently broadcast anymore so the section is out of date (for which we do delete entire sections such as this) as well as no longer applicable. Thank you for the warningThanks for the warning about copyright infringement. I typically watch Limitless on this site called jetflicks.mobi and when I looked at the wikipedia page I noticed that jetflicks' descriptions were better. I had no idea that they got their descriptions from another site. Next time I'll be sure to check. Your changes are a big improvement to that article. --ThaddeusB (talk) 01:29, 23 November 2009 (UTC) Rizzoli & IslesExcellent work on this page! After seeing the semi-fannish page for Angie Harmon, it was such a delight to see your pitch-perfect, beautifully referenced and encyclopedically toned writing and research at Rizzoli & Isles. Bravo! --Tenebrae (talk) 13:21, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
