Anti-OSS/My choices in softwareI use Firefox because it is more secure than IE. I used to use Thunderbird because it was free and fast (I use webmail now). Vim is my favorite editor. I do not like Linux. I am still anti-OSS, however. Notice Winamp in the list. It is my favorite media player. I don't care if it is OSS or not. I buy software on occasion. I feel that this is important, as it supports smaller businesses, while open-source generally benefits larger businesses who can afford offshore technical support for their (obviously deliberate) difficult-to-use products. I maintain several OSS products which I developed. However, they are only OSS because I don't stand a chance in selling them, as I could have in the shareware days. OSS (as well as easy piracy brought about by the Internet) killed shareware and severely limited the ability of small businesses to make money selling software. -RedBlade7 01:13, 27 August 2007 (UTC) Space Pilot 3000 GA nomHi, I'm not sure how active you are right now but I have nominated Space Pilot 3000 for GA status and it is on hold for review. Since you were previously interested in this article I was hoping you'd take a moment to read the concerns on the talk page and see if you could make any improvements to the article. Thanks. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media). If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. WP:BITE If you are really interested in making users respect Wikipedia policies then ask man with red shoes to stop his aggressive and rude language. Otherwise you seem to be using "warnings" only as a way to silence those who do not agree with your views. --Grandscribe (talk) 15:22, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
LinuxRegarding your edit summary: "no. It is about the system that the world and it's brother call Linux". The article is actually named Linux, which satisfies the fact that this is the most common name, so I do not see the need for your edit. The article clearly states that an "alternative name [is] GNU/Linux" which means it is not about all operating systems that use the Linux kernel, but only GNU/Linux. -- Borb (talk) 17:56, 16 May 2008 (UTC) Orphaned non-free media (Image:Bloodangels.gif)Thanks for uploading Image:Bloodangels.gif. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Weapons of the Imperium (Warhammer 40,000). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Protonk (talk) 05:12, 21 August 2008 (UTC) Sent with Auto Wiki Browser to all 40K project members. Project activityThis message is a test to check to see if members of the Warhammer 40K Project are still online, active and interested in helping the project. If you are no longer interested in the project all you need to do is...nothing! If you don't respond to this I'll take your name off the list and you'll never here from us again. If you're the proactive type you can remove the name yourself or talk to me and I'll do it. If you are still interested in helping out the 40K project or otherwise still want to be listed there you can say so in response to this message on your talk page or on mine. Alternately you can add our new userbox ({{User WikiProject Warhammer 40,000}}) to your userpage and I'll take that as a response. The userpage doesn't automatically include people in a category of members yet, but it might in the future. We've assessed most of the articles in the project on the Version 1.0 assessment scale (the table on the project page should take a few days to update) but we need to push to get the core articles in the project up to GA status. Thanks for all your help. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help the project along. Protonk (talk) 21:18, 29 August 2008 (UTC) |
