The sources are not good enough to support the claims you are trying to insert. It is pure tabloid mischief making containing speculation of the worst kind. Until confirmed by WP:RS it is a breach of WP:BLP and will be reverted continuously if you insist on re-adding it. Leaky Caldron 11:17, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Salsa Rappsody

Heya, saw your edit at Modern Romance (band), specifically the "Salsa Rappsody" --> "Salsa Rhapsody" edit. While I probably wouldn't use these references as WP:RS I think this and this suggest verifiability. I appreciate your input. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 13:06, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

You're right; that first reference is unacceptable for use. YouTube can only be used for verifying otherwise raw data, such as the contents of a music video. However, as that second source is acceptable verification, feel free to revert my edit so long as you add the source afterwards.--Launchballer 13:10, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Singlechart

I'm getting confused now. Let's talk a few minutes. The link you have changed to is a top 10 link, not a top 40. I can't find any sign of the old one being broken. Is the original problem that you were formatting your date with "/" instead of "-"?—Kww(talk) 18:10, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Nope. The link I was using, under instruction from the template's documentation, didn't work, so I searched for it and that was the URL that was generated. Assuming that to be the correct URL I updated the template. If Point of View (song) uses /s, that is probably because one of the changes I made to the template forced it to change one character to another and I forgot to change the song's URL back.--Launchballer 18:14, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
But http://www.officialcharts.com/archive-chart/_/1/2002-02-23/ works just fine. Did you save the change you were working with anywhere? I'm about to revert back: everything between positions 11 and 40 isn't sourced right now.—Kww(talk) 18:21, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

I've put the template back. Your original problem was that you left the leading 0 off of the month: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Point_of_View_%28song%29&diff=565788075&oldid=565788000Kww(talk) 18:37, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Launchballer. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, MckNasty, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Stifle (talk) 19:17, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on TSD (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Whispering 03:18, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

IMhO not notable

You may be interested in the following. I met Philafrenzy (talk · contribs) in person at the wikimeet on Sunday. He is very proud of having created IMO Records even though the notability of the company seems dubious to me. The interesting thing is the massive number of incoming links which pre-date the article. On further investigation, I find that, possibly without exception, these incoming links arise from external links added by Dnbdubmad (talk · contribs) and that, again possibly without exception, these external links are now broken. Dnbdubmad created Lost (dubstep producer), Beastie Respond aka Tobias Hjørnet, a drum and bass producer, Unquote, an electronic music producer from Saint-Petersburg and versions of Renegade Hardware that got deleted but, strangely, they did not attempt to create the IMO Records article. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:41, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

I would have to agree - I can't see anything there that suggests notability. There is one secondary source on the whole page, and the general notability guideline requires several. I could probably A7 it and it would be deleted, but I'm not going to burst his bubble. I'm going to prod it.--Launchballer 22:24, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
Would you both please not patronise me with this "very proud" business. I did not say anything of the kind. I also don't appreciate comments made at a Wikimeet being repeated here, particularly when I am misquoted. I did say that I created it due to the high number of incoming red links and it seemed to me that the firm was distinctive and notable but that the sources were probably in specialist music publications. I agree, however, that the onus is on me to provide those sources and I will see what more I can find. Philafrenzy (talk) 23:38, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Matrix & Futurebound

Hello Launchballer. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Matrix & Futurebound, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Sorry, but there's no way that userpage is ready for the mainspace. Whilst there's enough to get through an A7 CSD challenge, there's no way that would pass an AFD; one source is their own label, and the other is a simple chart listing. . Thank you. The article Steve Devlin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Pointless dab page - no articles for any of these people.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. noq (talk) 11:40, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Nomination of Steve Devlin for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Steve Devlin is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Steve Devlin until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. noq (talk) 15:11, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

"Prick" edit war at WP:TFD

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

Nyttend (talk) 21:55, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

I'm not going to bother protesting against a 24 hour block but you really should put the notice on the talk page before performing the action and as far as I'm concerned 'prick' is a personal attack, so Lfdder's block probably should've been slightly longer. But, oh well, I'll be back in 24 hours.--Launchballer 22:09, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
You were clearly aware of the 3RR situation, if for no other reason than your participation in the AN3 thread; that's the only real reason we require notification, since it's not fair to block someone (except in really egregious cases) who isn't aware that he's transgressed 3RR. Plus, I noticed your editnotice: "Most discussion boards - AfD, ANI etc. - requires that you notify me of any discussion I should be aware of - DON'T bother. Tag me with {{u|Launchballer}} instead." I'm not exactly sure if you wanted a 3RR warning or a link to the AN3 page, but what I said seems to address both of those; please correct me if I misunderstood what you meant. Nyttend (talk) 22:15, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
Okay, that message was placed partially in annoyance from the amount of spam I was receiving. It is horrifically ambiguous. I'll deal with that later.

A tag has been placed on User:Launchballer/Db-g6d requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an orphaned disambiguation page which either

  • disambiguates two or fewer extant Wikipedia pages and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic); or
  • disambiguates no (zero) extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give User:Launchballer/Db-g6f a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. Neve

Hi :) I'm not some bad cop who's trying to prevent you from creating a great article about Neve ;) When I'm patrolling new pages, I sometimes tag them accordingly to what I see. And the Neve article in its current state looks poorly, but I guess you intend to work on that, as I've noticed you're not a new editor but quite an experienced one. Even a discography section with that #70 single would be a step in the right direction. Anyway, I'm not going to tag it anymore and I'm gonna let it go, only here's my final thought: having an article tagged with lack of notability is not the end of the world ;) Just look at my article for Propellers (band) – someone tagged it in July, but I chose to accept that, instead of fighting that contributor. And so from time to time I search for new sources that would help me prove to other contributors that the band is notable. Who knows, maybe next month their song will be a top 10 hit ;) and I will get rid of that tag. Anyway, happy editing! :) — Mayast (talk) 23:47, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

I'll bear that in mind. The difference between me and many writers; many writers write about what they like, and generally the more popular the artist the more writers write about it. I don't; I write about what is notable, and the result is a couple of anomalous artists that are notable, but just haven't been reported on. You will notice I write several permanent stubs that pass the guidelines but don't have many reliable sources to their name, and I apologise if that is not to your liking. Neve passes WP:MUSICBIO criteria #2 and #6a; #2 because of Mystery Land and #6a because it contains Daniel Sherman and Paul Newton, who both pass criterion #6b for being members of Point4, who passes criterion #6a for containing them two and Pete Day.--Launchballer 00:09, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello Again

Good morning my inclusionist friend - can you review this article? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:JSFarman/sandbox/Adam_Lilling? I know it's going to sit in AfC for a while otherwise. (I know this because I've spent a lot of time reviewing lately -- there's a backlog of 1800 reviews. I also know (from personal experience) that it's a LOT easier to decline an article than it is to take the time to pass it. It's well sourced, and Adam is definitely notable (and a hero of mine). Thanks if you can, and thanks nonetheless if you can't. Hope you're well. JSFarman (talk) 14:45, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

Guns for Hire

I've added chart info for three countries that I could find. There are no doubt others but European chart stats are pretty sketchy for the 80s in some cases. Not sure why it remained unreferenced for so long! Were you going to write an article for the band Guns for Hire or just have a dab page? If no standalone article then we could put a hatnote on the song article perhaps? Cheers, Bretonbanquet (talk) 18:07, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

I just fulfilled your move request for Robert Uhlmann, but I was totally confused because you said you wanted to delete the Robert Uhlmann page, not move the Robert W. Uhlmann page to that title. So I redirected the Robert Uhlmann page instead of deleting it at first, and then made the move instead when I saw your request at Robert Uhlmann (disambiguation). Re User:Launchballer/Meat Weed Madness: I am disgusted that you apparently do not know the following: a) the preferred namespace for AfC submissions is Wikipedia_talk:, b) AfC submissions should always be tagged with {{subst:AFC submission/draftnew}} or {{subst:submit}}, c) IMDb is normally spelled with a lower case b, d) an article stands no chance of survival unless it has links to reliable sources and IMDb is not a reliable source. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:18, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

Hospitals

Well the DYK nom's in for William Harvey Hospital. Hospitals, and discussion and criticism thereof, are big business in parliament, so if you want to improve Epsom, you should have a search through The Hansard as you might well find some juicy (and reliably sourced) gossip about the place. A news search is difficult, because while hospitals turn up in the news all the time, it's always because of an accident, so you'd struggle to pick out something that didn't violate WP:NOTNEWS. Edit you made on Fuse ODG

I recently added an awards and nominations section to the Fuse ODG article. I was going through the article's history and saw that you deleted all of the information in the "early life" section. I think most of the information presented is correct. I also think you should try to contribute to the article as opposed to just deleting the whole section without stating your reasons in the edit summary. versace1608 (talk) 22:52, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Versace1608: Why are you questioning me on an edit I made over two weeks ago that had an edit summary explaining it? "rm u/e bs" is text talk for "removed unencyclopedic bullshit". It was foully written and was unreferenced. I will revert any readdition of it, however I will not oppose a new, rewritten "Early life" section being added.--Launchballer 23:14, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
