About Cantonese people

The history section lacks a lot of historical details, and the setting look too boring to read. So I added more details including citations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.35.202.156 (talk) 15:34, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cities Reverts

I had intended to work towards adding the missing counties, I doubt I'll bother now as I wasted my time on the cities before with you reverting them. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:12, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am pressed for time already, so I haven't time to try to add infoboxes and have my edits reverted. In some cases you removed the other things I'd added too. All it was it that the other maps were better than the ones I had added that all. You accused me of vandalism. Dr. Blofeld White cat 11:56, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK not to worry, as long as you understand the principle about the standard infoboxes and China locator map. If you can follow my example and replace the old infoboxes on all with new ones and good locators which are conistent then this would be great. I noticed you added an infobox or two to a few which makes things much better. If you could ensure all the provincial level cities are up to standard. I believe I got as far as Jilin. I've started creating a series of country level templates. In my view these could probably replace the main ones we have right now and would make them more detailed and useful. I made the location map China to improve an understand as most have no idea where in china thwey are. They were set at 300 for a reason to make the location more clearer. At a smaller size it becomes more out of proportion to see where it it. Dr. Blofeld White cat 17:56, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They are gradually being built at Wikipedia:WikiProject China/County-division templates. If you could also follow the example of the complete ones, see how the templates are built and then start to fill the empty templates with the counties and districts by provincial city. Eventually we'll have all the counties linked in the templates and when I have time will stub every county. Maybe you could start on Template:County-level divisions of Gansu Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:06, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed!! I will compy and paste the list of districts now into the empty templates to make it easier for you to edit. If you follow an example of a completed one you can see the idea that the provincial city is linked at the side and then you put the countries/ districts within it in the space beside it. You will need to click edit on a completed template to see how they are listed. Dr. Blofeld White cat 18:12, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah thats good I've added it to Template:Xinjiang Administrative Divisions. I've made a start on Gansu for you, the templates should all be consistent red and gold so if you can work through them and build them in the same way this would be great. I'm pretty busy with Vietnamese districts at the moment but I'll try to help with what I can. Dr. Blofeld White cat 19:16, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. When making changes to the China templates as you've been doing recently, please check to make sure the links you're adding direct where you want them to–for example, by making changes like this. Could you add some context? For example, in this article, it should start "Urat Middle Banner is a division of Inner Mongolia " or something - as it is now, the reader has no idea what the article is about. Ironholds (talk) 21:54, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this edit: I agree that some parts of the article are slanted, since it's mostly from the research of one individual. But if you want to post a {{POV}} tag, you must start a discussion at the talk page, per procedure. {{POV}} tags without an accompanying discussion are generally removed. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 21:35, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please watch the Monguor article as User:Alexjhu keeps adding problematic sections that the user has written (The Chinese language, Origins of the “Han” concept), many of which has almost nothing to do with Monguor and seems to be ill-researched and presents itself in heavily POV fashion. Almost all of the content the user has written also cites Chinese language books with no ISBN number and makes it almost impossible to verify these sources.--TheLeopard (talk) 06:49, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Han Subgroups

Regarding your last message, I think the two should be merged under the name of Wuyue people, according to Chinese Wikipedia. I created Jiangnan people in response to a previous complaint, in previous messages. I have not created the shandong people nor the guangxi/kwongsai people page, so I think you should contact the previous creator of these pages if you have any problems with them. Bloodmerchant (talk) 19:23, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted your moves to "Guangxinese" and "Shandongese". Articles should not be titled by Wikipedian-invented neologisms. Just because "Cantonese" are called like this, doesn't mean every other subgroup should also have a similar name. Instead, the article titles should reflect what names scholars and journalists use in English to refer to the group in question. If you wish to move any more pages, you should ensure that you have consensus for the move in question, for example by starting a move request discussion on the talk page. Re:Han characters and a company website

Thank you! That's a great help! Do you know what Mystic World Publication would be? My English edition refers to Tian Jin Creator World Comic Company, so would Mystic World Publication be an offshoot or branch of it? Oh, and could I have the Pinyan version for Mystic World Publication as well? Because of the nature of the article, I'd like to include the original characters and romanization. Thanks again! replied at your page --LLTimes (talk) 05:12, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again! For the Zhongman page, the Google translator mentions that Tian Jin Company was publishing Ideal World at the same time as France. Is this what it really says? For the French release, the Amazon reader allows me to look at a copyright page, and it says it was published in a partnership with Beijing Total Vision Culture Spreads, and possible lists a publication date for the China release. I'd have to check with someone who speaks French, but do you think this would make sense? WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 06:14, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, okay; that's helpful. So, it seems that there are more publishers than just the original, Xiao Pan, and Yen Press. I actually might be able to find the Taiwanese and Korean companies through Anime News Network, though. Also, this seems to say something about serialization (at least from the google translator). Do you know if it says anything about being in a magazine or newspaper? Or anything else useful? Thanks! WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 17:36, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and do you know what type of site/company this is? I can't tell if it's just an information site or a producer or anything :). WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 17:47, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, that makes sense. The site also mentions it being part of the Cunren Fairy Tale series, which I've found some information on, so I can use that. For the single edition release date, does it say during which year it would be released? The volumes were still being released during 2007, it seems. I'm still looking for other publishers, too, but would you by any chance know any publishers that could have released the series in China or Taiwan? WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 18:43, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For your fine work with translating for An Ideal World
Wow! Thanks for the publisher information; I couldn't find anything on them. Now that the characters for the Korean company are available, it should be easier to find the company. I don't think the series was ever released in Japan or any other European country, so I wouldn't worry about that; all other sites only mention the Korean, French, and Chinese language editions (with the exception of English, though Yen received licensing rights in 2009). As for the dates, my guess is that there was a delay. The Chinese edition Xiao Pan has on their site is probably what was produced. WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 19:50, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So, I came across this this, which, according to google translator, says that it is Korea Press, which is apparently run by Cambridge University in the United Kingdom (韩文版:韩国剑桥公司 福乐林出版社 韩国地区出版). I googled it and the project does exist, though I can't find a book listing. WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 19:56, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've found two official sites mentioning the South Korean branch, so that should be enough. Thanks for all of your help! I wouldn't have been able to find anything :) WhiteArcticWolf (talk) 20:39, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your great praise! The translation has turned out quite well, though the Chinese original does have some issues. It draws pretty heavily from one source in particular. There are a few articles that are regularly "patrolled" by User:Monkh Naran (contribs), who appears to be constantly forcing a "Mongol strong" POV. Purity

You can't make an article about a group or race who believe themselves to be better or pure, but make them subordinate. That idea would be contradictory. And If you put in the National geographics reseach in to the Japanese Imperial family article section it gets deleted almost immediately with out comments and by mulitple people. But Facist idea of Chosen race and subordinate to another nation is a contradictory concept, can't have one without the other. --Objectiveye (talk) 04:14, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not censor or delete my references, you can reword my additions but please keep in mind that the article is about Koreans believing they are the superior pure race, so a subordinate concept would not make sense. Look forward to your edits if you chose but keep in mind the article is superior race concept (Thanks for not deleting for censoring my references from now on.) Thanks. --Objectiveye (talk) 04:58, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article should be deleted and it is nominated for deletion, but if it is going to stay, you have to put in all that info for the article to make sense regarding being the chosen pure race. Thanks. If you want to change your vote Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pure blood theory in Korea --Objectiveye (talk) 04:27, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Quote: "I think this article should be deleted and it is nominated for deletion, but if it is going to stay, you have to put in all that info for the article to make sense regarding being the chosen pure race." Why is it that I seem to interpret that as, "I don't like this article and I want it deleted, so I'm going to add some things to make it look more absurd, so more people vote for deletion". You make it suspicious, by stating that you support deletion, then claim to be "contributing to better the article". Amirite? -- 李博杰  | Talk contribs email 12:21, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

August 2010

How come you did not give the other editor a warning? He had more reverts in one day than anyone else. His reverts were adding content and did not follow guidelines for content dispute. His edits added content that was not relevant to the article, changed the wording to one that was poorer than the previous wording and added quotation marks where not needed. He was the only editor that did not explain his reverts or discuss on talk page. 71.255.87.54 (talk) 00:04, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It's simple, because you're the one who's removing sourced materials in the first hand (ie, [1]). Btw you should know that you've already passed 3RR, you would've been banned by now. --LLTimes (talk) 00:22, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You went too far back and combined 2 separate edits in your example when there were many different edits after your example. If you look carefully, you will see that even the links in dispute are different than the one in the example you gave. Don't confuse editor 71.255 with 71.251 etc. IP bias is very common. Just because something is sourced does not mean it belongs in the article. The information that Hong added is not appropriate content for Category:Ethnic groups in the United States. Some of his reverts were reverting more than one edit at once and should count as multiple reverts. How were his edits appropriate when he was adding quotation marks around the word Taiwan, inserting the word "it" when not needed, and changing the data to one that is not of the article subject.[2] 71.255.87.54 (talk) 01:17, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

LLTimes

Hi LL, there were a discussion over the title of Pinnacle Islands. While I found that the use of Diaoyu island and Senkaku Islands won't help solve the problem and more importantly, either name wouldn't be able to earn overwhelmingly predominate support from the community, so I'm more inclined to use an English name.

After the current Japanese title is disputed, nihonjoe and I moved it to Pinnacle islands. But there is a guy to insist that they must use the Japanese name. Could you take a look on it? I actually want to simply revert his "reverts" because his move is tellingly based on misinterpretations of google results , but i don't know how to do it. --Winstonlighter (talk) 03:35, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move

Hi I'm proposing a move to a contentious title of diaoyu/senkaku islands. Please come to take a look: (Discuss)Senkaku IslandsPinnacle Islands — A recent discussion about the controversial use of Japanese name over a controversial land seems to suggest that neither Senkaku and Diaoyu is predominate common name. Search results show that both names are common, in which the Japanese one yields more results in Google Book search, while the Chinese name yields more in Google News and General Google search. The title was hence moved to Pinnacle Islands following the example of Liancourt Rocks and Sea of Japan, which neglects who administrate and controls the place, but pick up a neutral generally known name. In this case, although the name Pinnacle Islands does not seem to be predominately popular than the rest of two, it achieves the highest degree of neutrality required by wp:name. An admin (nihonjoe) and I have moved the page to Pinnacle Islands for neutrality, but the move is disputed by a user. --Winstonlighter (talk) 05:21, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nan Yue/Nam Viet

Hi, i reverted the Nan Yue/Nam Viet article to the previous version, since the article requires a Vietnamese name placed prominently beside the Chinese one, as the kingdom was a ancient state of Viet Nam, as well as an ancient kingdom that later incorporated to ancient China. The Vietnamese trace their country's origins to Nam Viet as well, and Nam Viet is a prominent part of our nation's history. Even around 50% of this kingdom lies in Viet Nam today. Nan Yue is not just a Chinese kingdom only. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nguyen1310 (talkcontribs) 20:07, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nanyue is an important part of the Vietnamese history as Viet's ancestors were crushed in battles and annexed by Nanyue during it's prime years. This rule over the red delta were long until proto-Vietnamese revolted. To be fair, none of this kingdom in it's original form are now a part of today's Vietnam (maybe 5% at best). I rather propose a merger of "Zhao Dynasty" with the Nanyue article than anything else. --LLTimes (talk) 20:23, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Chifeng (Ulanhad)

Hello LLTimes,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Chifeng (Ulanhad) for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
