Talk Amongst YourselvesAfDHi, I noticed that you recently gave your vote on the AfD on List of United States presidents by handedness. The article has since then undergone significant changes. This is not an attempt at canvassing, but I would like to ask you to take a second look at the article, to decide if you wish to reconsider your position. Many thanks! Lampman (talk) 14:33, 25 October 2008 (UTC) Hey thanks Lampman. I will go check it out. -Knowl -<(I am questing for Knowledge!) (talk) 18:33, 25 October 2008 (UTC) Replaceable fair use Image:Life_of_Mencius.jpgThanks for uploading Image:Life_of_Mencius.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself. If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? However, I am deeply sceptical about whether the Richard Spratly who was master of the Cyrus is the same Richard Spratly who was a butcher in Chesham. Many of the dates simply don't add up. The crucial one for me would be 1851 where the census records him working as a butcher in Chesham while on 11 April 1851 he writes a letter to the Nautical Magazine from the South Sea. If he was born in 1811, is it likely that he was captain of the Cyrus by 1834 - when he was just 23 years old? I think a much better candidate for our Richard Spratly was one born in 1802 in Poplar who died in Brentwood in 1870. in 1861 the census records him as being master of the Atalante, though not living abroad. What evidence do you have that ties the master of the Cyrus to the butcher's shop in Chesham? --Billthesceptic (talk) 09:23, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

(talk) 19:16, 26 February 2009 (UTC) Bemused and BewilderedCan't say I don't like this idea of turning ones editing experiences into points and gaining levels through the process... but honestly, I need some help here. I just added my name to the list of players playing Wiki RP. What happens next? How do I keep track of how many experience points I gain?? How do I ascend levels and get to know which level I'm playing in at the moment?? I've never played MMORPG's, by the way.. Please illuminate me..!! La Alquimista 17:56, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

One Last QuestionThe number of experience points depends on the number of edits of a user, right?? So, how come you are level 24, given that you've got only 538 edits under your sleeve?? Neck deep in confusion here. Sorry for being such a bother... La Alquimista 06:26, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Or are we still allowed to play it/ maintain our logs as long as we don't take it too seriously or advertise it as a MMO?? Surely the thing isn't going to be over this soon? I was sorta starting to enjoy it..... La Alquimista 11:56, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Multiplivative IdentityA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Multiplivative Identity, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ←Signed:→Mr. E. But I have recently learned that this term is discouraged by the Church's hierarchy because that prefix only applies to the Diocese of Rome, and also because of the fact that the Latin (or Western) Rite is now found all around the world and not exclusively in former Roman territories. —Preceding unsigned comment added by T.M.M. Well according to the wikipedia article on the Catholic Church, which I suggest is renamed Catholic Church, you can see that it is officially known as the Catholic Church. —Preceding unsigned comment added by T.M.M. Dowd (talk • contribs) 20:07, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

+ WikiProject Zoroastrianism Notice!Hi!Honorary mention of your contribs to the Astrology section of Ophiuchus, now moved to Ophiuchus (astrology), here. I'm going to cleanoff a little this and that mythological stuff, mainly by splitting of articles where appropriate. The older constellations generally have a very long history and symbollogy, so this is a way to specialize articles in the three categories astronomy, mythology and astrology. Keep on editing! Removing Speedy deletion nomination of Motivated sequence patternA tag has been placed on Motivated sequence pattern requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding File source problem with File:Life of Mencius.jpgThank you for uploading File:Life of Mencius.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged. If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:52, 10 June 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
