Thank you...
...for your support in my recently closed Request for Adminship. I am more than a bit stunned by the outcome, which appears to have finished at 146 supports, no opposes, and one abstention. I am particularly grateful to Keilana and Kingboyk for their recent encouragement, and most specifically to Pastordavid, for having seen fit to nominate me. I also want to make it very clear to everyone that I have no intentions of changing my name again, so the servers should be safe for a while. In the event you ever believe that I would ever able to assist in the future, I would be honored if you were to contact me regarding the matter. I can't guarantee results, unfortunately, but I will do what I can. Thank you again. By the way, I know the image isn't necessarily appropriate, but I am rather fond of it, and it at least reflects the degree of honor I feel at the result. And it's hard to go wrong with a Picture of the Year candidate. Now, off to a few last tasks before starting work in earnest on the various templates I promised I'd work on. This RfA thanks inspired by Kathryn McDinaha's, in turn inspired by several others after Phaedriels' original. Hoping we can all keep such inspiration of newcomers ongoing, I am, sincerely, John Carter (talk). John Carter (talk) 21:56, 14 January 2008 (UTC) Signpost updated for January 14th, 2008.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:The Search poster.jpgThanks for uploading Image:The Search poster.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:15, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Ralbot (talk) 08:27, 27 February 2008 (UTC) re: Barbara Howard, RCAHi Katalaveno, Thanks for correcting my error and for the friendly welcome. I have a couple of questions: - when someone, like yourself, posts a message on my usertalk page, is there a simply way to reply (as with email) or do I have to go to your usertalk page and start a new topic? - there was already another Barbara Howard listed on Wikipedia (an actress), so when I started my new article (Barbara Howard, RCA), I had to find a way of differentiating her from the other one, so I added her professional letters after her name. However, if anyone is looking for information on Barbara Howard (the artist) and they type “Barbara Howard” in the search box, they will only find the actress. Is there a recognized way of handling articles on two people with the same name? Thanks, Wardsislander (talk) 18:49, 29 February 2008 (UTC) Mediawiki serverYou run my mediawiki server in your organization! Speaking of which, I have to come back sometime and update it to 1.11.1.... so.... it'll be secure and you won't have to worry :) |
