Jonathunder, king of MinnesotansJonathunder, I promise to remain ever picky over grammatical issues, but always willing to listen and compromise on such matters as well! Thank you for your support of my RfA, if there is any way I can be of service, just shout! Thanky thanky, Babajobu 00:24, 7 January 2006 (UTC) Congratulations!Congratulations! It's my pleasure to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator. You should read the relevant policies and other pages linked to from the administrators' reading list before carrying out tasks like deletion, protection, banning users, and editing protected pages such as the Main Page. Most of what you do is easily reversible by other sysops, apart from page history merges and image deletion, so please be especially careful with those. You might find the new administrators' how-to guide helpful. Cheers! -- Cecropia 01:11, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Could you please elaborate on that? What makes you think that I have failed to appreciate criticism (constructive or otherwise)? Kelly Martin (talk) 20:05, 9 January 2006 (UTC) RFA/William M. I've been expanding pages relating to Mower County, Minnesota lately and I hope to add a bunch of pics after I take them this summer when I go there. It seems like a lot of your stuff relates to Olmsted County, Minnesota. Are you working on anything specific right now?--Hraefen 00:32, 12 January 2006 (UTC) My RfAI have decided to withdraw my nomination, due to growing oppose votes due to my lack of experence (and because of userboxes?). I will now aim to continue, and broadern my scope from userboxes. I will accept a nomination, should one be made, in 1-2 months. It passed 47/3/1, so I have officially been promoted. I hope I won't let you down. If I'm not doing something properly, please tell me. I am wondering if you'd be willing to clarify for me what issues you have? And let me know if there's anything I could do to help answer them? Is your concern entirely that you believe WP:AUTO should be policy rather than only a guideline? I admit (and explain somewhat in my RfA) that I feel that this is overused even as a guideline. Still, as a reason to oppose, this would have you vote against adminship for Jimbo Wales, Angela Beesley, Larry Sanger or Alan Cox on the same basis. Actually, while Category:Wikipedian autobiography is very incomplete, I doubt that nearly any active Wikipedian who is also notable in the "outside world" would pass by such a standard. Ruling out anyone who is worth having an article on from adminship is, I guess, something I would oppose pretty strongly—so I guess one thing I cannot do to reassure you is promise not to edit the article on me, since I just don't endorse that principle. I can certainly promise not to violate WP:NOR or WP:NPOV should I make such edits (which I may or may not; I'm not planning on editing the page on me, per se), but then I guess I would promise that for any article I might work on. FWIW, if you read the edit history, you'll see that my edits to David Mertz are pretty insubstantial (there are pretty many rather minor ones; not quite "minor edit" in the sense of typo-only, but not the substance); it may appear that the initial thing was written by me, but the talk page indicates the actual source (in retrospect, I should have had some other editor copy over that, but I had just started editing, and had never noticed WP:AUTO at that point). Talk:Río de la PlataI don't know whether or not you've been following things on Talk:Río de la Plata lately, but I noticed that you voted in the first round, but not yet in the second. Since violetriga has said s/he plans to campaign for "River Plate", I thought it prudent to encourage you to revisit the page, if for no other reason, to cast your vote again for the correct (:-p) name. See Talk:Río de la Plata#Final naming poll. Cheers, Tomertalk 00:33, 25 January 2006 (UTC) wikiproject Macedoniahi, how are you? I would like to be an member of an project if it exist (wiki MAcedonia project) please let me know something about. Thanx 25 December editsOriginally the date of birth for Jesus of Nazareth was 1 (sometimes 1 AD/AD 1), then it was 1 BC, then vandalized to 1 "BCE" by an anonymous or infrequent user, reverted to BC, then vandalised back to "BCE" by you. Thus your edits are undiscussed removal of original texts. Darwiner111 03:42, 27 January 2006 (UTC). User:Darwiner111I hope you don't mind; I extended your block of him. NPOVThank you for your comment on the proposed requested move. You are right to say that NPOV and POV are very much part of Wikipedia language and evoke specific things - my concern (as shared by a few others on the mailing list) is that these are negative terms. Far better to stress the positive "let's aim for a neutral viewpoint" rather than the negative "stop POV warring". Also, they are quite unnecessary terms. In real life we use the word "opinion" rather than "POV". Is there any real benefit in using the term "POV" in Wikipedia rather than "opinion" or is the term really to the detriment of harmony? If you have the time, I'd be grateful for a response, jguk 08:07, 27 January 2006 (UTC) Succesful RfA!
Move from Laozi to Lao-Tsu
I've moved it back, and corrected all the resulting double redirects. If it's again moved without consensus, I shall take steps to have the article protected, and raise the matter at W:AN/I. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:48, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
Río de la Plata (Puerto Rico)Would you be horribly opposed to naming the article with the accent? I see that all the other articles in Category:Geography of Puerto Rico are named using accents and tildes as appropriate. Tomertalk 22:21, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
My RFAHi Jonathunder/archive5, thanks for participating in my RfA discussion. Unfortunately, my fellow Wikipedians have decided at this time that I am not suitable to take on this additional responsibility, as the RfA failed with a result of 66/27/5 (71.0% support). If you voted in support of my request, thank you! If you decided to oppose me at this time, then I hope that if I do choose to reapply in the future, the effort I will make in the meantime to improve and expand my contributions to Wikipedia may persuade you to reconsider your position. The other user, User:Macedonian876 reverted 4 times to his yesterday version (that's not counting the sockpuppets) within a few hours and vandalised User:Makedonas's userpage after having being informed of the 3RR yesterday by me. --Latinus (talk (el:)) 22:08, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Hi again, check WP:AN3 I have reported him there. The sockpuppets (anon IPs) are not important - he did violate the rule and according to WP:3RR all sides should be treated equally and Macedonian876 did know about the rule, as I told him yesterday (check his talk page). Thanks. --Latinus (talk (el:)) 22:27, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

RFAHi, just wanted to thank you for voting on my RFA, which went through with a count of (58/0/1), far better than I'd expected. I intend to take things slowly and start using the extra abilities gradually, but if there's anything I can do just leave a message. Cheers, CTOAGN (talk) 13:54, 7 February 2006 (UTC) My RfAThank you for your support on my request for adminship. It ultimately succeeded with votes of 52/1/2, so I am now an administrator.
