User:Liam loves liftsHi John, thanks for reverting the edits by this user on my user page, however I am curious as to how this sock got round my protection on my user page. Only auto confirmed editors are supposed to edit the page. It doesn't even look like he had 50 edits (although I'm not too sure to be honest). Weird. Thanks for your work! Hi I saw you had hidden a few edits. I was wondering what BLP violations were they. Thanks. Pyrusca (talk) 16:56, 18 October 2016 (UTC)
Please help me rename my user nameHello John, Could you please help me rename my user name as you have mentioned in your message that it violates Wikipedia policies as it shows the Company name. I am new to Wikipedia and it's confusing as I am not getting any option to rename the user name. Also now, I see that user techtw does not exist. Please help me fix this. Thanks Ritesh — Preceding unsigned comment added by Techtw (talk • contribs) 18:29, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
How to get this article reviewed and publsihedDear John, I appreciate your message and suggestions mentioned. If I would like somebody to review the article I have written and then get it published; how do I do that? Thanks, Ritesh — Preceding unsigned comment added by RiteshRanjan (talk • contribs) 20:39, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
Thanks JohnDear John, Thanks for your quick and valuable suggestions. As advised, I have removed the photo of Mr Jha with his sisters. Also, could you please let me know how I can add more credibility to this article as you have said single independent reference might not be sufficient for review. Could you please help me review this article by reviewing it as you are an experienced user and an active member in the community. Thanks, Ritesh — Preceding unsigned comment added by RiteshRanjan (talk • contribs) 21:54, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
Adam Mitchell (footballer, born 1996)Okay I added Adam Mitchell (footballer, born 1996) to the DAB page of Adam Mitchell (as it appeared on the new page feed) then I just saw on the history that you removed someone with that name saying it was a hoax article-is this the same guy again? HI, you deleted this back in 2013 by an author who I think was banned? I don't recall the name but I was wondering if I can build on that instead of building it from scratch. Thanks. Pyrusca (talk) 15:51, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
Ready Player One, Ghost in the Shell and Office Christmas Party disruptive editingJohnCD, it is good to see you. I want to tell you that I have seen disruptive editing to the pages I mentioned in the subject that I am telling you. Spshu is doing disruptive editing to Office Christmas Party Page. I was wondering if you could block this user due to the issue and add back Reliance Entertainment. It is the same thing on List of DreamWorks Pictures films (DreamWorks Studios/Amblin Partners (2016-present)). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.10.33.10 (talk) 18:50, 30 October 2016 (UTC)
Baron BerkeleyMay I add that you keep deleting relevant and true information? I don't personally know the new earl but I know a family friend and I can get the relevant details to prove his succession. Mossley1 (talk) 09:44, 3 November 2016 (UTC)
Two-Factor Authentication now available for adminsHello, Please note that TOTP based two-factor authentication is now available for all administrators. In light of the recent compromised accounts, you are encouraged to add this additional layer of security to your account. It may be enabled on your preferences page in the "User profile" tab under the "Basic information" section. For basic instructions on how to enable two-factor authentication, please see the developing help page for additional information. Important: Be sure to record the two-factor authentication key and the single use keys. If you lose your two factor authentication and do not have the keys, it's possible that your account will not be recoverable. Furthermore, you are encouraged to utilize a unique password and two-factor authentication for the email account associated with your Wikimedia account. This measure will assist in safeguarding your account from malicious password resets. Comments, questions, and concerns may be directed to the thread on the administrators' noticeboard. Non-ParteeismI have a complaint regarding the deletion of my article. It was stated that the article was deleted by it was "obviously invented by the creator of the article" but aren't all religions invented by someone? The apes dont climb down from the trees knowing about religion. Someone had to set down the beliefs of every religion created on this planet. What makes mine any different?Nianiad (talk) 22:04, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
Ryan Fitzgerald (ice hockey)Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ryan Fitzgerald (ice hockey) This page was deleted in July as a result of failing WP:NHOCKEY and WP:GNG, however I was looking and realized that he does indeed meet the requirements as justified by: "Achieved preeminent honors in a lower minor or major junior league (all-time top ten career scorer or First Team All-Star), or in an NCAA Division I collegiate hockey league (all-time top ten career scorer or First or Second Team All-American)." Fitzgerald was named to the 2nd All-American Team in 2015-16. (See List of Division I AHCA All-American Teams). Mushh94 (talk) 11:04, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
IQ Option official website blacklisted by mistakeHello, John! First of all, I'd like to thank you for the link you posted on my talk page. The thing is I'm trying to add some links to the article on IQ Option (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_Option) and I can't because it's blacklisted. I searched for the domain (iqoption.com) in all blacklists and managed to find only \biqoption\.com here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Spam_blacklist. Could this be the reason all links to the official website are forbidden? What should I do now? Rrusl u (talk) 14:03, 14 November 2016 (UTC)
A new user right for New Page PatrollersHi JohnCD. A new user group, New Page Reviewer, has been created in a move to greatly improve the standard of new page patrolling. The user right can be granted by any admin at PERM. It is highly recommended that admins look beyond the simple numerical threshold and satisfy themselves that the candidates have the required skills of communication and an advanced knowledge of notability and deletion. Admins are automatically included in this user right. It is anticipated that this user right will significantly reduce the work load of admins who patrol the performance of the patrollers. However, due to the complexity of the rollout, some rights may have been accorded that may later need to be withdrawn, so some help will still be needed to some extent when discovering wrongly applied deletion tags or inappropriate pages that escape the attention of less experienced reviewers, and above all, hasty and bitey tagging for maintenance. User warnings are available here but very often a friendly custom message works best. If you have any questions about this user right, don't hesitate to join us at WT:NPR. (Sent to all admins).MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:47, 15 November 2016 (UTC) New Page Review needs your helpHi JohnCD, As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically). Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted. Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review. It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial. (Sent to all active AfC reviewers) MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:33, 15 November 2016 (UTC) Libertarian MacedonianOkay. I am glad that I did report it at AN if you recognized it as a known pest. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:15, 15 November 2016 (UTC) The greatest Macedonian was Alexander the Great, and he, being a pupil of Aristotle, would not have been persuaded by philosophical gobbledy-gook. After all, one of Aristotle's objectives was to expose the rhetorical tricks of the Sophists. Robert McClenon (talk) 00:15, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
Viscount of BoschetHi, I would have appreciated a friendly chat before you deleted my page. I was adding some info following an inheritance and am a new user on wikipedia. Its put me off any further contributions Im afraid. Drstevejones (talk) 02:19, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
G12I had thought that an actual unattributed copy-and-paste of an existing article to draft space would qualify for G12. Thank you. I see that an admin agrees. I run into this situation on Articles for Creation occasionally. Robert McClenon (talk) 19:33, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
Peerless NetworkHi JohnCD - you deleted the page I created Peerless Network - although it doesn't appear that you left a reason why on the deletion page. I'm assuming that you don't believe that it qualifies as "notable" although at this point, I've no idea how to make it more so, as I've provided ALL the links that I can to document the contribution that this company has made to the telecommunications space - in terms of the services they provide and the patents that they've been awarded. So as my last ditch effort to prove "notability" I'll describe Peerless' contributions here to you - in the hopes that you'll be convinced to "approve" the article as a permanent addition to Wikipedia. Peerless Network provides a service that is an alternative to the traditional ILEC business model in that it allows most telecommunications providers to interconnect amongst each other and therefore significantly reducing costs. This process and their switch design (for which they received a patent) made this new business model possible, and is a major contribution to why the majority of Americans and US businesses now enjoy significantly reduced telecommunications rates. And then Peerless invented a process (for which they they also received a patent) that allows a wireless call to move seamlessly between wifi connections and cellular connections - which again, makes the process of placing a wireless phone call significantly less expensive, as well as improving quality and opening up a host of new consumer and business services. Are there a ton of articles about these technologies? - Nope - it is the underlying mechanism that allows services to be offered (by all major carriers), and is not the "marketed" service themselves - and thus, not anything that anyone really wants to write about. BUT without these technologies, the telecommunications industry would not have progressed to its current state. I'll ask you to reconsider your deletion - on the grounds that Peerless Network has made significant contributions to the US telecommunications industry - and thus is notable for its contributions and achievements - documented via the receipt of many patents. Thank you Jlk0221 (talk) 14:53, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
OmixonHello, I've tried to edit the Wiki page of our company, but the whole page was deleted. The name was "Omixon". Can we restore the original page we had before my edits? Something was against your policy, but I'm not sure which part of my edits was wrong and caused the deletion. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.133.23.193 (talk) 15:38, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
Thank for your help. It was absolutely my fault what happened I'll review your suggestions and edit the page accordingly. When you suggest "add to the article references that show significant coverage of the company from sources independent of it, particularly those that verify what the article says " you mean atricles, scientific discussions? Where and how can I add these references? Thank you in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Norinagy (talk • contribs) 12:16, 29 November 2016 (UTC)

Deletion of page Haim Dotan Haim Dotan (talk) 14:41, 5 December 2016 (UTC)Dear JohnCD, About the page you deleted called Haim Dotan. A Hebrew Wikipedia article about Haim Dotan was written by the journalist Michael Yacovson 5 years ago. Haim Dotan is now known and cited in news organizations worldwide as the designer of the world's longest and highest glass pedestrian bridge in ZhangjiaJie, China. I, an employee of Haim Dotan Architects, thought it fitting that an article should be written in the English Wikipedia in addition to the Hebrew one. Is this enough explaination to allow this article? If not, what are the rules around who can post an article? Best regards, Lisa Roberts Haim Dotan (talk) 14:41, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

I'm now the Dean at the University of Idaho College of Education. I'm thinking it may make sense to reconsider this deletion based on new information (my new position, I have around 250 publications, and a high level on google scholar, and a TED talk, global, that has around 900K views, serving as Editor in Chief of the e-Learn magazine published by the Association of Communication Machinery. Am I allowed to create the article myself? It's likely that my own work on this will be more balanced than my students' work was as I'm able to be quite self-critical. ˜˜˜˜ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.145.154.17 (talk) 04:02, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

I am recreating the article you had deleted.Hi. You had deleted the page named "Shoaib Tantray". The reason behind the deletion was "a real person who has not public importance". The article had poor and lesser number of reference links that could explain the article fully. It's therefore requested to you that now I'm recreating this article with more content and reference links. Hope you will leave your worthy message on the talk page of that article. I'm waiting for your reply. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamkash1234 (talk • contribs) 13:06, 11 December 2016 (UTC)
Iranian vandal?Hey John! See Eilya Monfared (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views), and the fact that it was later given a disambuated page title. This seems very much like our good old JR-vandal friend from Iran (who hasn't quacked so much recently here, just once or twice on Wikidata). Other editing from the account is incredibly similar; Iranian singers and the like (not to mention markup, links or even origin). Definitely not notable, if the "musician" exists at all indeed. Do you think it's worth making a case at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/جواد رمضانی شوراب again? Sorry to bother you and take up your time, the account and all the rest just seems a bit fishy to me. Jared Preston (talk) 16:27, 14 December 2016 (UTC)
