Deletion of File:IMERA-LOGO-sq2.pngI, JohnCD. You deleted File:IMERA-LOGO-sq2.png based on request of uploader under G7 criteria. I am not sure if G7 applies here. This file is a logo of Imera Power and as such can't have the authorship. This logo is in use by Imera Power article. Earlier today the same user tried to speedy delete this article and all other information about this company in other articles. The speedy deletion was contested and right now the Imera Power's article is nominated for deletion. The existence of the logo in Wikipedia could be justified only in case if the article about this company survives AfD. Therefore, I would like to ask you to restore the file until closing the AfD procedure of this article. Thank you. Beagel (talk) 17:22, 4 April 2012 (UTC)
Why was the page for Bill Parmelee deleted?Hi, I have been scouring the internet for information on my Grand Father William J. Parmelee, owner of Honda Cycles in CT and former racer. I found the page and was disappointed to find it was deleted. I have not found it in the deletion logs and want to know why it was deleted. Please get back to me. At the very least I want to know what information was on the page. You can email me at wmelliottjr@yahoo.com as I do not have an account on wikipedia. DisappointedHi John, I was keen to start writing for Wikipedia but now fast losing faith when my work keeps getting deleted. Everything I wrote in the about me section was factual. I agree that the first article I wrote was about self publication but the most recent edition of About Me was not in the slightest bit spam. What is wrong with writing about awards I have received in the industry I work in? If I can't even write factual information about myself then what is the point me spending time to write about other people when the same thing could just as easily happen? I spent a long time working on that content and to see it deleted as spam without an explanation is extremely demoralising. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Freddieframpton (talk • contribs) 12:51, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
Deletion of Glidersport LightHawkI agree with the deletion. I was merely using that as a way around the the insertionand re-insertion of a link to a non-existant page by Ahunt. It appears Wikipedia doesn't want any links (except to their own webpages). Instead, they want one to create a whole topic page inplace of each link. This just doesn't make sense to me. Suppose I wrote a topic on classic Ragtop cars. Wouldn't it make sense to have a few links to relevant webpages? Also, copyright infringement may require a link in place of placing the same material on the topic one is creating. S.Steve.Adkins — Preceding unsigned comment added by S.Steve.Adkins (talk • contribs) 16:52, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
The addition by Ahunt totally solves my concerns. He produced a very nice topic page. Also, I have since reviewed the Wikipedia policies in this regard and have developed some understanding which resolves my concerns. Suggestions on Folding@home? GA coming soon!Hi there JohnCD! I noticed that you have an interest in Folding@home and thought I'd let you know that I've extensively edited the article and I believe that it's very, very close to GA nominations, something that is long overdue IMO. I'm doing a fairly informal request for comment thing, so if you could read it through and drop me a line or something with any improvement suggestions I'd appreciate it. I'm striving to make it encyclopedic, factually accurate, etc. If there's enough consensus that things are fine I will ask Dr. Pande for a final review and then put it up for GA nominations which I hope will transpire smoothly. I estimate that all of these events will occur within the next several weeks. So if you are interested, please let me know what you think and watch for the GA nomination! :D Your fellow folder, Jesse V. (talk) 02:44, 2 April 2012 (UTC)

John William HornHello JohnCD, a few years ago someone created an article about me. Over the years I would check on it and maintained it with great pride. I am a published author of the book "MySQL Essential Skills" McGraw-Hill Osborne Publication Date: June 10, 2004 | ISBN-10: 0072255137 | ISBN-13: 978-0072255133. Anyway, I would ask you to please review the deletion of the article. I had seen warnings about references, but didn't understand why they were showing up. The pages referenced were there and the books and articles referenced were on third party sites (such as Eweek, Techtarget.com) were there. For quite a while there were several articles out there. I have to admit some of the articles about me have gone away due to the passage of time. But, the articles about me were not commercial, nor promotional. They were just informative articles about a person who was a pioneer in helping bring MySQL to a larger audience. I wouuld be willing to help repair any issues it may have had or if I need to consult an expert on this I am willing to do it. If you are unable to repost the article, may I please have the content? I really did like it. :) Thanks, John — Preceding unsigned comment added by Usfarm (talk • contribs) 11:38, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Charles BrokawHi! Thanks for writing on my talk page! I don't think that this person is the author of the Thomas Lourdes series for several reasons. For one thing, the series is a current one and they're being released even now. The Charles Brokaw in the IMDb link died back in 1975, so I doubt that he's the same guy. Then there's the matter that the name Charles Brokaw is a pseudonym, something that's written on his author profile at Macmillan. It might be that the author chose his pseudonym based off of the actor's name, though. In any case, the actor might warrant an article himself. When I get a moment I'll have to look and see what I can find. It's kind of fun, making new articles. (Although if anything is wrong, I can only blame myself for it. Copyright issuesJohnCD, I do take issue with your nomination for speedy deletion of my work and exhaustive research that I have tried to make available concerning any pages that I have authored on my website www.brucemccausland.com because I am Bruce McCausland. There is no copyright infringement when the researcher is trying to make that research easily available to the general public in a searchable form such as Wikipedia. Are you suggesting that I bring that website of my creation down??? Please elaborate on your reasoning. Lot of thanksHi JohnCD, lot of thanks to move the article Shair to its correct title,I already requested for that to Drmies. Cheers.Justice007 (talk) 20:03, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
ShairHi, I was looking into the problematics of Justice007's request at Drmies tp, and tweaking the infobox and such when you moved the page. I'm not complaining, but there was a redirect in place for the asteroid, so if I had removed the redirect info from Shair, does that mean that the page becomes available for a move? A bit confused about redirect pages (not what they're for), can one just undo them and move articles to that namespace? I recently got embroiled over this concerning a user who incorrectly named an article, redirected it, then created another article and then turned the basic page into a DAB, see here, sorry I've deleted the other pages from my watchlist concerning the confusion, but my second question is does this need a dab or should Kevin Sharpe link directly to the historian, and the corresponding page be moved to that title? A bit technical, but I am still learning the ever mystifying wiki-lore. CaptainScreebo Parley! 20:25, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Butler1970 (talk) 21:51, 18 April 2012 (UTC) Thank you for your cooperationHello JohnCD. firstly, thank you for your comment. i'm really understand why the page was deleted. however some comment was wrong so i just want to correct that. firstly, a whole class was set to write articles about POSCO subsidiaries. the homework is uploading some information in wikipedia; writing new information or correct right information. maybe some students choose same company as like me. but it is wrong every student needs to write or change information about POSCO. perhaps, i mentioned before i thought i couldn't upload new information in wikipedia. so i found this company. in my country, the company is very famous. and i don't have any idea about entob. i just found the company name in POSCO wikipedia page. when i looked POSCO wikipedia page, many page link were not correct. so i searched every company name. at that time i found entob comapny. i didn't have enough time to write the company information. as you can see the history of entob. the first writer is not me. maybe the employee who work in entob has uploaded the information. i just corrected new information. actually, it is none of my business the company page is deleted or not but i have 2 conerns 1st is my mark. i just worry about i would get low mark if the page were deleted. 2nd is the company the employee working in entob spent a lot of time to uploading the page. for me, the effort went out. im really sorry for the company and the employee. therefore, i want to restore the page. anyway, the report will be shown by tmr. i don't have enough time to correct the page and get your reply. whatever the project will be finished, i will check your reply. once again, thank you for your helping and comment. have a nice day~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bestlie (talk • contribs) 07:32, 19 April 2012 (UTC) deletion of user created articleHi John, As i was researching on the Indian firm "financial services" ( R K Global ) through Google, it kept taking me on the blocked page by the name of User:Rkglobal . HapkikwanI am really surprised with questioning whetnet Hapkikwan is to be deleted. And all this due to two artificial problems - one in respect to copy right and another one in respect to a question that there are not independent sources (?). Let me explain this: 1.In respect to a quaestion of copyrights, all data that appears at Hapkikwan International website is free for public use. I know this for sure. It is just general information, there are no special products of mind. Also, I know this because I am green belt Hapkikwan. 2.As about secondary (independent) sources I firstly wonder what in the text could be a subject of any dispute? Does anyone belive that Prof. Krivokapic is not founder of Hapkikwan? Or that Hapkikwan was not founded in 1994? Etc. Anyway, many independent sources (not only from Serbia, but also from Croatia, Korea, Pakista) are given at the Hapkikwan International website, in particular in subsection Press. This includes scanned pages from books, magazines and newspapers. Yet I believe it is sufficient to mention that Hapkikwan is officially recognized as a new Martial Art by the World Martial Arts Union - the only Martial Arts Association recognized by the UN and UNESCO in particular. Please just visit World Martial Arts Union website (www.womau.com). Thank you on your time, Stevan Mitic — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stevanmitic (talk • contribs) 13:40, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

I am actually not related to the company although I do know an employee working in it. I am still a student at a university and this is one of my class projects. In regards to notability, I do think that Aaeon is a strong contender in their industry. It was noted in Business Week and a white paper was written by Seagate on their collaboration. They were also featured in the quarterly Intel® Embedded Innovator Magazine in addition to numerous articles/press releases mentions. Pink Heart Movement DeletionHi JohnCD I think you deleted a Page About Pink Heart Movement today. I understand why you deleted it. It was a promotional rant about a new website and not objective. Pink Heart Movement is a non profit organisation. True our main goal is to create a new web platform, and web community.. Our entire motivation is to provide a force for good for the world. In the space of a week John we have raised $150,000, rallied over 30 people within our "base camp," Deloitte of Australia have volunteered their services to financially structure us and so has Monolithic Corporation who are a Perth based law firm.. Your negative take on us is hurting our growing reputation as a provider to humanity.. We've literally just earned over 25,000 likes on facebook.. I apologise on behalf of the entire team if we have unknowingly broken a code that has motivated you to segregate us.. Please support us. We are NON FOR PROFIT, we are now 10 days from launching a social media platform that will change how we contribute to the world on every philanthropy front.. I plead with you John.. but you know what it isn't about me.. I'm just one man in a team of many now who are committed to good and you're affecting us all. Either way we will prevail. With Wikipedia on board would just make our mission that touch easier.. What we're doing has been a massive challenge- road block after road block, but we're still going, in fact we are stronger by the day. I wont keep you John, you're a busy man we get that.. We just ask for an inch. All the best, Sam and the Pink Heart Team — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sam switch (talk • contribs) 11:37, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Asoka HandagamaI'm a bit disappointed that you tagged the page on Asoka Handagama for deletion due to being UBLP. While some references about particular topics are a bit hard to find (e.g. exactly who considers him to be the leader of the third generation of Sri Lankan cinema, it's extremely easy to find references that show him to be a socially and artistically important filmmaker, with a worldwide reputation. Once you found that the page wasn't referenced, couldn't you have just added a reference or two rather than simply scheduling the page for deletion? Ross-c (talk) 10:35, 1 May 2012 (UTC)

Dhoom 3Hi John, The article Dhoom 3 about the film was moved to article incubator by you. The concern was it doesn't meet WP:NFF. Yet the article doesn't meet WP:NFF as its principal photography is not started. But I think Dhoom 3 is sufficiently notable. WP:NFF says "Films that have not been confirmed by reliable sources to have commenced principal photography should not have their own articles as budget issues, scripting issues and casting issues can interfere with a project well ahead of its intended filming date." Then what if some film dropped even after the photography is started? It happens is several cases. So i think we can use WP:IAR and WP:UCS in this case (i'm not much familiar with the rules, correct me if i'm wrong). Just check out google trends reports of "dhoom 3" here. Its news reference volume and search volume clearly shows its notablity. A lots of independant, reliable sources confirms it'll go on floor this month. Also the direct confirmation from producer, director and lead actors can be found. If you wish I'll provide sources. So considering these things I kindly request you to move Dhoom 3 back to article namespace. Thanks.. rahul (talk2me) 05:17, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

I put '<--' next to the references to show that the person Im making is real and the information is backed up by a real website. New Pages updateHey JohnCD/Archive 18 :). A quick update on how things are going with the New Page Triage/New Pages Feed project. As the enwiki page notes, the project is divided into two chunks: the "list view" (essentially an updated version of Special:NewPages) and the "article view", a view you'll be presented with when you open up individual articles that contains a toolbar with lots of options to interact with the page - patrolling it, adding maintenance tags, nominating it for deletion, so on. On the list view front, we're pretty much done! We tried deploying it to enwiki, in line with our Engagement Strategy on Wednesday, but ran into bugs and had to reschedule - the same happened on Thursday :(. We've queued a new deployment for Monday PST, and hopefully that one will go better. If it does, the software will be ready to play around with and test by the following week! :). On the article view front, the developers are doing some fantastic work designing the toolbar, which we're calling the "curation bar"; you can see a mockup here. A stripped-down version of this should be ready to deploy fairly soon after the list view is; I'm afraid I don't have precise dates yet. When I have more info, or can unleash everyone to test the list view, I'll let you know :). As always, any questions to the talkpage for the project or mine. Thanks! complaint of vandalism at AzollaSaw your message when I looked up Ken Burns' "The War" today. Took me by surprise. Be advised that since at least December 2011, edits from this IP address have been "indefinitely blocked" (last time I saw the block notice was near the end of March this year). I have been the only user of this IP address since December, and since I have been unable to do any editing such as grammar and syntax and spelling, or any minor additions to any articles, because of the block, and because of it gave up any thought of contributing anything, I did nothing at Azolla. (I haven't even looked at the article, not even out of curiosity, since the word/topic means nothing to me, and I have no idea what it means). I'm sorry about your problem, but it didn't come from here. 75.162.9.140 (talk) 21:02, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

I have removed one last one that existed on my own talk page from two weeks ago. Please accept that I haven't done any of this to waste your time or to be pointy. The tagger didn't inform me, I didn't have time to look at "What links here" before it had gone, and I thought that deleting it would create redlinks. Speedy Deletion of Old Black Bear Brewing CompanyJohn, I understand your comments for removal of my Entry, I did copy text from their website, as I am just now learning about the company, I was hoping that more people would refine the article and add more information. Is there a way to do that (have a non-live article)? Then possibly release it when it is ready? You might like this one - I've just looked at your userpage. I've deleted the article version A7, but that doesn't work in userspace, does it? The article was 'authored' by a different name. This user is blocked at pt-wiki for userpage abuse, and at es-wiki the userpage has been deleted. The 'films' link to Film, and I can find nothing outside blogspot for the first of them. Would this go as a hoax, perhaps? Jessie Jack Hooper is a truly nationally-significant person from my community, and it has really bothered me that she hasn't been on the list of local notables. I've had a request out, for ages, to a local professor who has developed a huge amount of scholarly information about her, but as yet haven't gotten her to commit to letting me turn something she has already written into a wikipedia page (crediting her and her sources properly, of course.) With regard to my time as Chair of the National Council and National Co-ordinator: The Party suffered great losses in the 1999 election, the feeling in the party was very low. Because I had the time, I became the first full-time national co-ordinator in 1999. I poured my heart into the party and began to lift it up out of the doldrums. I was the co-ordinator when the party decided to elect a leader and when they decided to elect Trevor. In 1996 when Trevor and I first met, I acted as his image consultant, a role I continued to play to the party in general. When Trevor and I got engaged 2 weeks after we'd met, a number of comments were made that this had helped to secure his Malahide vote in the 1997 general election. I was the leader of the party up to 2001 and I was co-leader with Trevor up to 2003. I stepped down just before Stiofan Nutty was appointed General Secretary - a new role, now possible with the extra money that the 2003 election success had provided. I know the Green Party has had many 'ups and downs' through the years and there are many more to come, but that 'up' was my 'up' and it is currently invisible. I've never heard anyone ask - how did the green party go from 1 TD in 1996 to 6 TDs in 2003? Who was running the party before they had a leader? I had never thought about this untill I completed a masters this year which included an interesting module on feminisim. It was during these lectures that I fully digested the claim that women tend to be written out of history. I can't help wondering if I was male would I have taken up more space in people's consciousness? Maybe not. Who really cares? I'd like my page back.
