Finding constancy in naming of "Apostle" position

I have opened a discussion at List of members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles (LDS Church) in order to find some constancy in naming. Before I accidentally impose my personal view, it would nice to have a real consensus of proper naming of "Apostle". Any input by you, as a frequent Latter Day Saint articles would be nice.--- ARTEST4ECHO(Talk)

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. [1] SummerPhDv2.0 13:48, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Changes regarding "To the One" on Boyd Packers wikipedia page

Please do not undo my pages. I have added the pamphlet to the "selected works" section because this is an EXTREMELY important piece of doctrine taught by him. MANY have cited this speech and the pamphlet as causing severe mental anguish. Also, the BYU has removed any reference to it from their speeches page - which includes virtually every speech given at BYU since the 1940's. Why did they remove this talk? Boy Packers teaches about homosexuality - which is what this pamphlet is about - is very relevant today. First, his teachings contrast starkly with the current teachings of the LDS church. This is an important discrepancy to document. Second, with the supreme courts recent ruling regarding same sex marriage it will be important for users to see the history of the LDS churhces teaching on the topic.

The link I included is to a PDF document. The LDS church and BYU's website has removed all traces of this publication. As can be seen by following the link it is clearly published by the church. It is probably still floating around local meetinghouses.

Please discuss with me before you make further changes to Boyd Packers page in this regard. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Astralboy15 (talkcontribs) 00:09, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

David F. Evans

Thanks for the update on the article about David F. Evans. The time range noted that he served as Executive Director in the Missionary Department was just a typo. Thanks for all you do! ChristensenMJ (talk) 13:43, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles (LDS Church) may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

External links, Priesthood_of_Melchizedek

The revert is obviously baseless. The link I provided does cover his Priesthood, at least, at the second paragraph:

Melchizedek is a priest (He 7:3) for whom there is no record of his father or mother, his genealogy, his birth ("beginning of days"), or his death ("end of life). Careful records of all these things had to be kept for a person from the tribe of Levi to serve as a priest. Melchizedek is a priest of a totally different kind, that is, he is not a priest from the order of the Levites (i. e. a priesthood handed down from a Levite father to his Levite son).

I notice that the reference of Catholic Encyclopedia provides similar (not identical) information, so what's your standard for a qualified external link?

BTW, be reminded that the first two external links are dead. - MainBody (talk) 13:33, 13 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaning up Talk page in Fate of the Unlearned

Hi. Is is OK to cleanup our the entries you and I made in the Talk page of "Fate of the unlearned"? It doesn't seem that they are needed any more. Arpaksad42 (talk) 14:33, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Talk pages aren't "cleaned up." They are archived after an appropriate amount of time, and, as regular users of Wikipedia, we don't have clearance to do that. Only administrators do. So, that topic should remain on the talk page until it is archived at the appropriate time. Thanks. --Jgstokes (talk) 21:14, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I see. I'll try to keep reading the documentation you pointed me to. I appreciate your help very much.Arpaksad42 (talk) 16:33, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hilbig

Sorry, should have explained myself. Citations in the infobox often lead to a cluttered appearance and in this case I don't see any need for it as it merely cites the same information that is available in the prose. One cite is often enough. Connormah (talk) 11:27, 29 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for September 14

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bishop (Latter Day Saints), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Elder. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

as a ps to this:

I don't think it's very cool how much bullying you do on the LDS pages. Your so-called advocating of a NPOV only reveals the strength of your bias. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.182.214.219 (talk) 00:32, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

For the avoidance of doubt - I did not post the PS. RichardOSmith (talk) 07:16, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Stokes, you should probably look before you leap. That is, you should think, think carefully, before you start spouting nonsense about my supposed bias and who my socks are. Cuz u rong, and in my church, AGF is taken pretty seriously. Drmies (talk) 01:19, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jgstokes I have worked with Drmies for about 8 years here. I find it very unlikely that they would use multiple accounts to gain an advantage. I don't know RichardOSmith but keep in mind this person has been here for over 4 years and made thousands of contributions here. I think you owe both of them an apology unless you can produce some very compelling evidence. HighInBC 14:43, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
