Sports Clubs

It would be good that as you instantly reverted the changes at Club Nacional de Football page,do the same in the Club Atletico Peñarol one,where malicious editions are made and they are kept for weeks without any vandalize adverts and changes back to the original edition.

Im sorry i had an account but i forgot it,thats why it was unsigned. Anyway just delete my posts later,this was only a comment. At this page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pe%C3%B1arol, i have been changing many intentional errors or ironic editions. I let one unchanged as an example: (at the section: The transition (1970-1979) ...season in which Morena obtained two records, the highest number of misses in a season (36), and the largest number of goals against in a game, converting 7 versus Huracán Buceo. Morena was a forward,so it is clear that the intention is to mock that. I will take what you said into consideration, thanks for the heads up. Sports pages are always tricky when editing. A tip for the future, if you make a legitimate change to a sports page or any page, correct grammar and punctuation will help in preventing reversions. If I remember correctly, you had November as november, while this might seem insignificant, when editing this is usually a sign of some sort of vandalism or an edit that has not been clearly trained out. I do thank you for posting on my talk page, so now I am aware of the issues, and also I have learned to deal with these situations. Please do continue your work and take into mind what I have said. What are you talking about, exactly? I was trying to clean that article up cosmetically. The main body of text was broken in half by the "see also" section. Why would you stop me from doing that? Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't you just add the following?

First of all, where are the facts, ok the filming of Pirates could be substantiated with outside sources, I'll let that go. You also say that Many argued about the Nation's Dish. Many argued about the american eagle should be a turkey (Benjamin Franklin), but I am fairly certain that there is no reference to the various opionins on that, a dove was also considered. Ok, I now see that, it surprises me that all of that was uncleaned for 2 years, I do thank you in your attempts to fix the layout of the page, however, it still stands that some of the information needs citations, I will fix the page with the data and any other necessary information. The Son of Neptune

I noticed that you reverted User:Theanimalnerd change to the The Son of Neptune page. If the last line is allowed, "It is assumed that the title is referring to Percy Jackson, who is a son of Posiedon."

"I don't see how this has any more bearing than "However, another highly likely possibility is a Roman demigod, a son of Neptune who has been brought up in the Roman Camp Half-Blood. This was suggested in The Last Olympian when Poseidon said that Percy would recieve brothers and sisters sooner than expected." In fact, the latter of the two has more merit, since it specifically refers to a point in the previous book. I wanted to run this past you before I made my final decision in so far as not making a rollback, but making a revision of the previous statement.

  • Sorry, if I saw that sentence, I probably would have removed this as well. I just thought that both of these comments would have been some sort of breach of the no original research policy, since they are both theories with no sources to back this up with. Globalization article

Hello Jab843,

In regards to the Globalization article, I suggest you look at the section I am proposing to delete concerning Americanization vs. Globalization. As you can see, that section has no references to support its arguments and in fact, the arguments made there are completely contrary to the facts that exist. For example, the section refers to the US as a past hyperpower and writes that American influence is no longer strong in the world, but I suggest to you that you look up some basic information and you'll find the US is at dominance in the world almost more than ever.

If you'll look up, you'll find the US economy is larger and definitely stronger than all the BRIC countries combined! Then of course you may use first hand experience and travel a little bit and you'll find that American culture, companies, retail, restaurant chains, and so on are dominant in all parts of the world. And then there is of course the military influence the US has in the world and the US is still by far the most militarilly-influential country in the world with a military presence in about 180 countries and it is also by far the largest arms manufacturer in the world.

Look up the facts because I prefer to write facts rather than some baseless opinion as the one featured in the Globalization article that I am suggesting to be deleted or at least edited. Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.167.170.108 (talk) 20:39, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

I agree that facts should be written instead of baseless opinion, but do you believe that the section should be entirely removed? Looking at it now, I do hesitate while reading it, surprised that a section with such a large issue with not following W:NPOV could have existed for this long on such a heavily edited article, or so it seems. Also, a issue with the section is that it was created by one User:Ashmina18 and that is the only contribution that they have made. Seems kind of odd. Also the section is poorly written, and seems to attack America instead of contributing anything of importance to the article. I would be curious as to what the ip address of the user was, I doubt it was based in America. I do agree that this should be deleted. Also WP:REL seems to be violated, in that it isn't factual ans is not relevant to the article, in my opinion.
I will post the changes to the talk page and make the changes in your name, since I am whitelisted, it shouldn't be revered as vandalism, without looking into the matter. And I am open to comments if people from the Globalization page have issues. Jab843 (talk) 22:41, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

I feel as though I could use some help in diversifying my abilities in Wikipedia. While I know about reverting vandalism and other aspects, I would like someone who could help me in finding different aspects of wikipedia. I think you mistakenly accused me of vandalism. It was related to an edit I made to the List of amendments to the United States Constitution page. Under the second amendment, someone had added "for protection and not violent use" after "the right to keep and bear arms." This appeared to be an unnecessary editorial addition to what is essentially a nearly verbatim list of amendments, so I removed "for protection and not violent use." Here is the before-and-after comparison of the edit I made. On my talk page, you stated that this edit "did not appear to be constructive and has been removed."
