I noticed your removal of the backlink from the Essential Records (Christian) article. All of the other listed artists signed to the label past or present are all major artists in the Contemporary Christian music industry. Would you please restore the deleted article to my second sandbox User:Royalbroil/Sandbox2 so I may fix whatever was wrong with the article? Feel free to delete the history of my second sandbox if you wish to preserve the history of the deleted article. Thanks! Royalbroil03:52, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
(You said:) I've restored this article to User:Royalbroil/V*Enna. If you have any pages in your userspace that you want deleted, just place {{db-userreq}} on them and somebody can take care of them. I hope you can expand the article a bit; it needs a lot of improvement compared to the other band articles linked from Essential Records (Christian). If there's anything I can do to help out, let me know! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)13:59, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for restoring the article. I looked over the article plus did web searching, and I'm not convinced that they should have an article. They released one album on a major label before they broke up and all left the music industry. They probably participated on national to international tours, but I'm not going to look for any. I was anticipating finding much more notability. Just because I'm not going to pursuit this article doesn't mean that a case could be made on this article, so I disagree that it should have be speedy deleted. I did find a reference stating that they had a Top 10 hit on the music charts. User:Rachael Lampa Fan is one of a small number of active Wikipedians who really understands Contemporary Christian music. I don't think that creating this page was at all disruptive. It was a good faith attempt. I think your only warning for this creating this article was very far too severe and I hope that you retract it. User:Rachael Lampa fan's main problem is that he/she still hasn't figured out about writing in NPOV.
I meant that you could delete my sandbox #2 if it were helpful to accomplish restoring this article. I understand how to have userpages speedy deleted. Thanks for the excellent explanation anyhow! Would you speedy delete the user sub-page? Sorry for the wasted effort. Royalbroil14:42, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi Loeth. I'm new to wikipedia and a few days ago my entry was deleted due to copyright infringement. I am the owner of the external website from which I took portions of my wiki entry content. I added the GNU Free Documentation statement to the footer of my website. Is it now safe to recreate the entry? Thanks for your help! --Kdinarda14:40, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Out of curiosity, what are you merging it with? Earlier, I thought this was legit results from Canada's Next Top Model, in which case merging it with that might make sense... but now I am beginning to doubt that, since a Google for the name of the alleged winner turns up zero hits... I am skeptical that the winner of a notable reality show would have no hits at all! ---- Jaysweet (talk) 18:34, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I was actually looking at Google to see if I could merge it into Canada's Next Top Model somewhere, or if someone had mistakenly titled it CNTM when it was supposed to be for America's Next Top Model. I found the same thing as you, though, and am skeptical as well. Unfortunately it doesn't qualify for speedy, so I left the PROD up. Guess we'll find out in 5 days! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)18:37, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
That answers my question! I agree it's not quite a speedy, as I mentioned in my prod (it "almost" meets A1, but not quite -- and incidentally, it also "almost" meets A4, but it was previously deleted via prod rather than AfD). But I'll be shocked if this article stays around :) Anyway, thanks for the quick reply! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaysweet (talk • contribs) 18:40, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Regarding the above user, check his deletion log. In between my making the ARV report and your clearing it, someone speedied a very large number of inappropriate redirects he made. --ClubjuggleT/C18:37, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
The last entry in that user's deleted contributions log is from May 15. That's actually the last evidence of activity on the account prior to the one vandalistic edit to Jew today. Are you sure you have the right user, or is there something else I'm not seeing? Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)18:40, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Second thought, looks like you're right. I did a rather cursory check before and must have just happened to hit the vandalism. I'll add a warning for today's edit and leave it at that. Thanks! --ClubjuggleT/C18:43, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Ioeth, is there anything other than reading the AFD, PROD, etc. pages and experience that will give me a handle on all of that? I don't want too seem like I'm running with scissors or anything. Thanks in advance for your help, and thanks for all your work on the 'pedia. —ScouterSig21:47, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
No problem. I assume you're referring to the Series 6 Episode 3 (Spooks) that you nominated for speedy deletion? If that's the case, the reason I declined it is because the speedy deletion criteria are pretty strict. While the article did lack context, it was not short, as criteria A1 specifies it must be. On a sidenote, I had already declined an A1 speedy for the same reason. That article is actually describing the plot of an episode of a show called Spooks; many of the other episodes have articles as well, but they're better written, which is why I tagged it with those maintenance tags, in particular the {{in-universe}} one. Don't beat yourself up about it, though...content written like that can be really hard to identify sometimes. If you have any other questions, just leave another message here! Keep up the good work! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)21:54, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi; thanks for your support to my RfA, which closed successfully at (51/1/2). I'll keep this brief since I don't like spamming anyone: I'll work hard to deserve the trust you placed in me. Thanks again. — Coren(talk)23:34, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
Please undo your deletion
You just deleated my article about my podcast "Halyn Roth Show". It was cited for being a Speedy Deletion. I was not finished with it, and that is why you thought it was a candidate for such I suspect. I would appreciate it if you could undo the deletion and allow me to continue to edit it. Thank you, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Halynr1600 (talk • contribs) 01:25, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
The article that you wrote made no assertion of the notability of the "Halyn Roth Show". If the podcast gets you famous, one of your fans will write an article about you then. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)01:28, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Pickle Bomb
Can you please explain why Pickle Bomb was deleted. At Wake Forest, it is one of the most popular drinks. It is increasing in popularity to where other North Carolina schools such as UNC and Duke are also drinking it. I would appreciate it if you allow this listing as it is no different than other drinks and is similarly being sold in many bars. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jbhman2007 (talk • contribs) 01:43, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Sure, no problem. Pickle Bomb was deleted because the article made no assertion of why the drink is notable. You have to cite independent external sources in order to prove that the subject of any article is notable. If you can provide such sources, please recreate the article. Also, please note that Wikipedia is not a manual so if the article reads like an instruction guide, it will most likely be nominated again for deletion. A better place to publish the Pickle Bomb recipe might be http://www.webtender.com/. Let me know if you have any more questions! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)01:52, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- pb30<talk> 02:40, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi Matt, I've noticed we seem to be seeing a lot of the same new pages to speedy! Apologies for contacting you out of the blue like this, I'm looking for a bit of advice. I came across this while gnoming, and (as you might see from the mass of tags I stuck on it and my comments on the talk page), I think it's really close to being AfD-worthy but I'm just not quite sure. Would you mind taking a look and letting me know what you think? Thanks! and keep up the good work at Special:Newpages! Cricketgirl (talk) 19:29, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Hello hello! I took a look at E-OCVM and I think it's biggest problem is that it has a poor context. It does look kinda notable, though. I'd give it a bit of time, personally, to see if anybody can clean it up and improve it before sending it to AFD. Thanks for the heads-up! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)19:33, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Please don't remove the notability tag from articles unless the issue has been addressed. You removed it from Split Needles, yet there was no sources whatsoever to establish notability. You can't just say something is. Yes, I know all about The Shins and they are a very notable band, however, that doesn't make all their songs notable. Please see Wikipedia:Notability. -Rocket000 (talk) 20:20, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
True, sorry for removing it. You may want to check the Wincing the Night Away page and have a look at all of the other song articles as well, since it looks like someone created them en masse. Thanks for using [[WP::-)|Friendly]], by the way; always excited to see someone using the tool I wrote! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)20:24, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Great!! I can definitely sympathize with being in a hurry; I usually am on here. I'm glad to hear you like Friendly; if you have any suggestions, add them to the Friendly talk page, and I'll be sure to implement them!! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)20:37, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
While I fully agree that Wikipedia doesn't need an article on this subject, you speedily deleted the following content as "patent nonsense":
"Sting-Pong is a game with many variations. Some play the game as a form of bombardment or team dodge-ball. Others put variations on the more traditional game of ping-pong and call it sting-pong."
To establish the notability of the subject, you must provide multiple independent, reliable sources. These sources are also required to fulfill Wikipedia's verifiability policy. The best way to do this is to add links to reliable journalistic articles, such as from a news outlet or magazine, to the article. Let me know if you have any more questions. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)15:04, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Looks great! You know, whenever you fix something in an article that has a template at the top, you can remove the corresponding template. I'd say the article looks pretty cleaned up and that notability has been established from the sources, so you can remove the two templates at the top of that article whenever you want. You don't have to wait for someone else to do it! Keep up the good work! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)13:32, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
I was the nominator for the CSD A7 of Autograft, and I didn't pay close enough attention that it was originally a redirect that was changed by a SPA account (doctormonella). Thanks for the revert/redirect Keeper | 7618:42, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
No, that may have been the wrong category. My main objection to the article is actually its title, which is way too broad. Maybe speedy deletion isn't the proper way to resolve this. Merenta (talk) 19:16, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Nah, it can still be speedied under A7. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't using G6 without a reason. Thanks for the info! Ref: your entry at my account
Hi Loeth,
I'd like to refer to the following:
"Please do not add commercial material to Wikipedia, as you did to User:Arnneisp1. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you."
Maybe I got things wrong, but in all the entries I made using Arnneisp1, I made sure there was no advertising or promotion. To make sure, I took one similar product or company profile from Wikipedia and used the same exact format to provide the information and facts.
If you'll let me know which one of my entries you relate to as advertisement, so I can tell you which other wikipedia approved page I used as a format. I'll also appreciate your recommendation on the particular content - what should be removed as it is advertisement and what is to stay as fact.
Thanks loeth for the tips on editing the Laura Whitehorn page. I've put up a construction sign, and in the future I'll use my space as a place to put a new article first. The student I was helping with this unfortunately was having difficulty at first of staying logged into her account (problem with her computer), which is why it ended up on the site immediately. Thanks for the friendly help! Ubothell1 (talk) 22:37, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
entry for Gladiator, Inc.
I'm curious why you so swiftly deleted the article I was working on for Gladiator, Inc. You claimed it was a "blatant advertisement" but exactly in what way was the article slanted? All the info included was objective and informative-- sloppy perhaps, but you deleted it as I was building the skeleton of the article, before I could even add the "meat"... I didn't have enough citations on the article because I had all the hyperlinks to news stories/etc on my computer at home, I only put the links I could remember off the top of my head at the time.
An entry for Gladiator, Inc. is relevant because they have current government subcontracts with BlackwaterUSA. They also are one of the only female-owned and operated military contract companies in the country, and they are one of the few producers of PPE that have contracts with Iraq, Dubai/UAE, the Saudi Arabian Royal Family, and the Afghan military.
Please reinstate my article and in the future, if a new article is in the process of being built, give at least 24-48 hours for the user to update the information before you make a hasty judgment about it.
I was wondering if you'd take another look at the article I'm working on, it's not quite done yet, though finding information on this old game is quite hard. Let me know what you think of it so far.

new deletion threat
Loeth,
Now someone else is threatening to delete the article because he/she thinks that the person isn't notable enough to warrant inclusion because he/she was a criminal. Would you mind joining the discussion? The person I've been working with has been working 8 hours on this topic, and I'd hate to just simply delete the article because someone's not considered notable enough (Being part of a major organization involved in "terrorist" activities on U.S. soil on which the FBI and a number of other organizations have huge files isn't considered worthy?) Ubothell1 (talk) 23:02, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
It looks like everything will be alright. I think everyone is agreeing that she is notable enough to deserve mention and some details in the encyclopedia. I can't say that I'm 100% convinced she's notable enough for a dedicated article, though. Personally, I like Dhartung's idea to cleanup the article and merge it into List of Weatherman members. That way, there would be a central article to provide details on all of the organization's members, which seems to be about the only thing that makes her notable. What do you think about doing that? Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)14:38, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
I am fairly new to writing articles for Wikipedia, I've written only one before. It was approved with no problem, so I am not used to this deletion thing. I don't understand where I went wrong. I am very interested in BOXeight, because of the views they abide by, and the goals they have. I amended the current Los Angeles Fashion Week article to include the changes that occurred this year with BOXeight Fashion Week. Those changes were accepted, and changed a little bit, but still accepted. In those changes I mentioned the founder of BOXeight, Peter Gurnz. When I went to write a bio for him before I went to make the wiki page for BOXeight, it was deleted. I don't know what made it blatent advertising, because the other article was approved and accepted. I made an article for a person who was involved with the first article amended because I found his bio easier than the other people mentioned in the history. I was planning on making a page for Dean and Davis Factor, and Smashbox, all people and companies included in the Los Angeles Fashion Week article. I thought that I would start using Wikipedia to flex my creative muscle, but since I'd rather spend time writing than arguing about the material I am writing about, I think I should go elsewhere. If you can tell me where I went wrong in the rendering of Peter Gurnz's biography, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Yeah I guess that not including the citations was the problem. I have several I'm just having trouble figuring out how to include them. I looked at the several pages you sent me to try and figure it out, but I am just not getting it. Most of the sources are websites and periodicals that I found online. How do I do that? Do I have to take direct quotes?
This is for creating the wonderful tool know as Friendly, and for your amazing dedication and eagerness to constantly improve it and implement other's suggestions (not to mention, all at an incredible speed). Thank you very much. I just want to spam you tons of Barnstars. Rocket000 (talk) 10:08, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey, Ioeth, no hurry at all, but when you get a moment, can you educate me vis-a-vis Collin Long? I've recently dipped in to new page patrol, and I see you removed/declined the speedy, changed it to prod, and mentioned that notability was asserted with references to back it up. I didn't see any references and couldn't find any—where did I go wrong and what did I miss? Regards, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:51, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh, actually I missed something. I meant to type "but with no references to back it up", so the PROD would have been explained. The fact that the article says that Long is a "recognized" researcher is an assertion of notability, so it doesn't qualify under A7, which means PROD or AFD need to be used to determine if he really is notable. Sorry for the confusion! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)17:54, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for that false alarm edit to AIV a few minutes ago. Ugh... Vandal proof has way too many bugs to be effective. My apologies. ScarianTalk18:32, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
No problem at all! Better to double-check than to completely miss! I agree about VP; I was authorized and tried it but didn't like it nearly as much as using Twinkle and a few other choice scripts. Cheers! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)18:34, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

Ioeth, I think you made a "boo-boo" about half an hour ago. I noticed that all of a sudden, a bunch of extra tabs, scripts, and options were showing up in my account, and lots of the Friendly stuff was broken. After investigating, I found this edit you made to friendlywelcome.js, effectively turning it into your monobook. It explains why the new pages box and UTC clock appeared in my account, and why none of Friendly's welcoming features are working anymore. Not being an admin, I can't undo it, but it's undoubtedly affecting all users who use Friendly's welcoming module. Thought I'd point it out to you, in the hopes that you'll come online soon to fix it. Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 06:30, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
On the plus side, it gives me a couple more scripts to look into; I never thought of looking at your monobook for ideas. And I got a bugfix suggestion for the UTC clock script — see the Friendly talk page for it. Cheers! We all make mistakes; don't sweat this. I need a break anyway. ;) Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 06:32, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
It's fixed! I did indeed paste my monobook.js into friendlywelcome.js accidentally. That's what I get for Wikipediaing at 1AM, I suppose. Other users' monobook.js files are a great place to find cool little scripts, which is where I found liveclock (in AzaToth's). Thanks for that bugfix by the way. That's been bothering me for a while but I never took the time to notice I had goofed the parenthesis. Nicely done! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)06:35, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Ctrl-F5ing again. Quick catch! Meanwhile, I've added TheJosh's RecentChangesPatrol script and will probably add that clock of yours. You're welcome for the bugfix; I won't even charge you for it, considering your work on Friendly. :D
As for the 0100 thing, that's funny! I can relate; I've done some things late-night that I would have caught had it been earlier. Have a nice rest-of-the-night! Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 06:46, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Just finished a rewrite of your fixtabs.js script. You might want to take a look; my version should be easier to maintain, should you ever choose to add/remove things. Thanks for the inspiration! Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 08:09, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! Glad you think so. Note dropped, BTW. Perhaps I'll find other scripts to improve. I already made changes to Misza13's status switcher a while back... I'm beginning to build a record here. :) Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 20:01, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
PS: Hope you don't mind, I credited your little oops as the inspiration, since without it I probably would have never made the mod.
SFX City Theatre, Dublin
Sorry to bug you again, Ioeth, but I've got another question - this article absolutely stinks of copyvio, probably from the theatre brochure. However, the theatre's official website isn't working, so I can't prove copyvio! Removing all the advert (which I started doing before I realised just how copyvio-y it was) is going to take it back to a tiny stub...
What do you think? Cricketgirl (talk) 10:22, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the Help, Tuvok, their new website is indeed there, but of course is all updated and has none of the stuff I'm looking for! If only all other sites were like Wikipedia with a "history" tab... Anyway thanks! Cricketgirl (talk) 10:46, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Friendly gives you a tab (similar to "edit this page" or "discussion") at the top of a user's talk page that says "welcome". When you click on it, it lets you select a welcome template from a list and automatically saves it to the user's talk page. It makes it very very easy to welcome a new user with just 2 clicks of the mouse. The "tag" tab appears when you're looking at an article, and it lets you apply templates such as {{cleanup}}, {{unreferenced}}, {{wikify}}, and a host of others to tag the article for maintenance. I thought you might really like to have the welcome feature since you seem to do quite a bit of that! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)20:39, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Kas Product
You speedily deleted the page on the grounds that there wasn't enough 'notability' for the artists. I posted no less then 4 different links referencing reviews, discographies and an interview. The artists had most of their work released in France and a reissue of their first album was only recently released in North America. I hope you can clarify why exactly the page was deleted when I provided enough references for information. EditingMachine (talk) 04:23, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
No problem. Speedy deletion criteria A7 says that articles have to assert the notability of their subjects. Providing external links or references does not do this; explaining why Kas Product is important does (which the article did not do). If you can explain in the article why the band is important (i.e., they meet the criteria outlined in WP:MUSIC), please feel free to recreate the article. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)04:28, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
You should read Wikipedia's notability guideline, which can be found at WP:N. The article that you created did not assert the notability of the high school debate team, which is a criteria for speedy deletion. Unless you can explain why the team is worthy of note in an encyclopedia, the article will not be included. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)04:31, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
Speedy Delation: Knowledge Sharing Behaviour
Hi, I would like to know why you deleted the page while I was in the process of editing it? Is there a 3 seconds time limit to create a page or what?? Cyr S. (talk) 04:41, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
No, there's no time limit or anything like that. There are some basic criteria called the criteria for speedy deletion that a page must pass to not be eligible for immediate deletion, though. The article that you created fell under one of those criteria, so it was deleted. If you're going to take some time to create an article, consider creating it as a subpage of your user page, for example at User:Cyr S./Knowledge Sharing Behaviour. If you click that link and start the article there, you won't have to worry about it being deleted. Once you're done with the article, you can click the "move" tab at the top and move it to "Knowledge Sharing Behaviour", which puts it in the main article space. A lot of users do this to give themselves plenty of time to edit their new article before putting it into the encyclopedia. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers! Hi Ioeth. I just wanted to let you know that I am a learner editor and I've been putting some things I'm learning in a personal sandbox. Please don't delete - its just for my own use - but if you do want to, I would be grateful if you'd recommend a better way for me to store these type of things.
thank you

I just wonder under what circumstances did you decide to block this IP. As you might wonder, this IP belongs to Tonbridge School. Blocking a shared IP for half a year without any previous blocks seems unusual. --Deryck C.17:33, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Actually, this IP has quite an extensive history of previous blocks. See this for the list. I count 10 blocks previous to mine since October 2005 with the longest at 7 months. Wikipedia receives vandalism consistently from this IP address, so I chose 6 months since it covers more-or-less until the end of the school year. That's not too outlandish, is it? Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)20:06, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Whoa! That's some history there. I even know somebody at that school, too, from the summer. There are a couple of good edits there, I guess, but most of them are vandalism. What else would you expect from an all-boys boarding school? ;) Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 06:16, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for my false accusation. I didn't realise that I set the wrong option so I couldn't view the old logs. As I'm physically present behind this IP, would it be feasible that I can take part in managing users behind here? (the process is, namely, to ask the others to sign up for an account, which will be autoblocked, and I'll go in and clear the autoblock) --Deryck C.08:41, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
And one more note: there are 1000 people between this IP, so this extent of contribution and vandalism is by no means outlandish, either. Rather, I suppose it's rather mild considering the edit-per-pax value. --Deryck C.08:43, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't see why not. The 6 month block I set up is a soft block, so only anonymous edits are blocked from being made. Account creation is still enabled, so new user accounts can be created, and anyone with a registered account will not be affected by the block. Given the pattern of anonymous vandalism coming from this IP address, I think that it is reasonable to use a soft block here. If there is anything that you need me to change about the block for you to help manage the users, let me know! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)14:27, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
thanks for pointing me in the right direction re: the Gladiator, Inc. article. I am a little new to Wikipedia and didnt realize I could build the article on my userpage before putting it on the main database. You rock!
It's worth noting that the same article was deleted as an expired prod on the 21st, only it was titled as Sport and race. This time, maybe we should take it to AfD, since it's effectively a re-created prod. Acroterion(talk)21:45, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Phantom vibe, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Phantom vibe. Nucleusboy (talk) 22:04, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
The entry for Front Range Bible Institute that I made was instantly deleted due to an alledged copyright violation.
I am new to wikipedia as a contributor so specific reasons why this was deleted would be helpful.
Thanks for your help in this matter. Kdfromhb (talk) 08:34, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
RE: Box at the Top of my Page
Hi, Ioeth
Please can you put options back on as I want to start using archive soon, also, is there a way to customise it if I want to?
No, you shouldn't need anything else to get the "prod" tab in there. It does only appear when you're in the article space, though. If you go to a random article and it still isn't there, try pressing CTRL+F5 to do a full refresh. If that doesn't work, you should probably ask on the Twinkle talk page for help. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)18:09, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I have a suggestion for you to try if Ioeth's suggestions don't work. Can you add the text #p-cactions { min-width: 855px; } to your user CSS, Ctrl+F5, and see if the tab doesn't show up, if it hasn't already? By default, the tab bar isn't fully the width of the browser window, and that CSS rule makes it so it takes up all the room it has available (at 1024x768). If you have a higher or lower screen resolution, the 855px part will have to change. Let me know if you have a different res; I'll try to come up with a number for you. Re: Barnstar
Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked my idea :)
BTW, is there an easy way to customize the template list while still importing the script? (I wouldn't want to miss any new features) Rocket000 (talk) 19:01, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your comments; however, I am not Rick Koerber. I am a person who lives in Utah where there has been much talk about Rick Koerber and FranklinSquires. I am doing research and want to post my findings on Wikipedia. My attempt to recreate the FranklinSquires page after it had been speedily deleted was not to circumvent user Orange Mike’s efforts. It was an attempt to comply with his suggestions. I made a few changes to the page and then created it again thinking I had resolved its issues. I am new to Wikipedia and am trying to learn its rules. I am also trying to fix the problems with the two pages (FranklinSquires, Claud “Rick” Koerber) I've created. Do not delete the pages of a Wikipedian in training. How can I learn to write a credible Wikipedia page if I only have a few attempts to write one before being threatened to block my account? Bumblebee91 (talk) 23:32, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Our pal the bumblebee
I'd say a probable COI; all edits have been in third person, so not sure if there's an autobio question involved. I'm trying hard to AGF. I've salted two of the names under which the article was re-created; did you salt the third? Go ahead and put the guy up for AfD. --Orange Mike | Talk22:25, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
My intent was not to spam, only to "keep up with the Jones" so to speak. Is there a way to rewrite the CardsDirect article to make it able to be listed?
My attempt to create three pages about FranklinSquires was my attempt for people to easily find this page whether they searched “FranklinSquires” “franklinsquires” or “FranklinSquires Companies, LLC.” I didn’t know I was acting like a spammer Thank you for letting me know.
Also, thank you for informing me about working on an article under my own userspace. I will do so and would ask you to give me feedback on my article from time to time. Thanks, Bumblebee91 (talk) 21:31, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
why did you delete the above article. It was useful for anyone looking for a Greene King pub in Aylesbury, a free game of pool or a quiz on a Thursday night. The PH is also a local historical landmark - but I never got a chance to add that!
--The Ultonian (talk) 22:50, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't think an appropriate target exists at this point. I put it in article space because this post to BLP/N suggests that people wish to write on it while it's timely. Might as well let them. Cool HandLuke23:32, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
It seems from this you've given 24.60.218.3 an indefinite username block. I'm missing something here - how can an anon have a username block? The block is for 48 hours though, not indefinite.
Also I'm confused about the AIV entry for this IP. The report claimed they'd vandalised Elmo. I can't see any edits from this IP since 27 November, none before that to Elmo (which has been semiprotected since 27th Nov anyway).
I'd undo things, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something fundamental here!
Looks like I applied the wrong template with Twinkle! I went back to the user talk page and changed to a vandalism/48 hours template. Now that you mention the Elmo article, though, I'm confused as well. There's a message on the user's talk page dated 29 November 2007 about vandalism on the Elmo article, but when I look at the Elmo article history, there's no evidence of any vandalism having been reverted today. Thanks for calling it to my attention; I think I'm going to go ahead and release the block. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)14:41, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
I thought as much, regarding the template. However this is another instance of an anon being warned for vandalising Elmo today (when it's semiprotected). I think I'll mention it to Dalekusa - perhaps there's a problem with Twinkle... Tonywalton | Talk14:46, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Hee, back again, I am. I notice you deleted your UTC clock script under CSD G7. That's what I get for not making my own copy, I guess. Would it be too much to ask if I requested that you use your admin powers to grab the old source of that script and paste it on this page? Thanks! Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 16:06, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

I wonder if it had to do with the space in "original research". I'll do some testing in my userspace to confirm. Thank you for bringing the issue to my attention and reverting the template back to a working copy! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)20:08, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! I think this might have been related to the Wikipedia software glitch that happened a few minutes ago. The thread right above this one was related to it as well. I've moved the entire template into my user space for testing, and used the template from the article and see no problems anymore. I'm going to revert the articleissues template to put my changes back in, as now that the Wikipedia software is fixed, it seems that the template is too. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)20:32, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Ioeth, i believe you made a mistake in the deletion of the page "Gert Caldwell". This is not a real person, therefore, I believe in no way can it be a personal attack. Gert is merely a character made by students at the College of the Rockies campus to explain food that has been stolen from the cafeteria. It is in no way offensive to anyone and should not be deleted by Wikepedia. please send me a message if you still need more information. He might not be real, but it's unencyclopedic anyway, so I'm not going to recreate it. Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's policies before diving right into article creation. Thanks! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)21:48, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Barnstar Awards
Hi Ioeth,
I want to know how I can get Wikipedia Awards, and if I can give them to anybody. Also what is the 'Missing Barnstar' or finding the persons 'Secret Page'?
How do I set up a guestbook?
Also, how do I put a bot or something on my user page that says I am online/offline.
Details about barnstars can be found at WP:BARN. 'Missing Barnstar's or 'Secret Page' barnstars are usually ones that random users give out for signing their secret page. I'm not certain, but a guestbook would probably go against WP:Userpage. Take a look at User:Chris G Bot 3 for info on the online/offline status box. Barnstars
Hi,
How do I get awarded Barnstars and can I simply award them to others?
You can award anybody a barnstar at any time...anyone can do it! As far as receiving barnstars, you get those when other editors notice your contributions and decide to give you one. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)00:03, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
New User
I'm new to wikipedia and tried creating my first article according to the Wikipedia:Your first article guidelines but still yet the page was still deleted. Can you offer a more comprehensive explanation (or link maybe) to what specific areas need improvement before it can be accepted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeremyhutton (talk • contribs) 22:44, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Hope you don't Mind that I helped Ioeth!. Jeremy, have a look at your talk page, I have put some links on there to help you get started using Wikipedia, by the way, which page was it that was deleted as I have no record of you creating any pages! Please reply here:
To be perfectly frank... I'm not sure how I feel about it now that I see the arbitrary nature of the opposition.
Is there any reason for this otherwise arbitrary edit limit of 1000? What does that signify? Why 1000? Why not 1164? I've been a programmer for over 15 years and I've been working with computers for over 30. I was a BBS admin back when there were BBS's. To be dismissed out of hand over an arbitrary edit limit, which is in no wise indicative of my experience in WikiPolicy, seems rather short-sighted. No interrogation, no discussion... Every one of the posts said almost the same as yours, "No problems, think he'd be great but he doesn't have 1000 edits". What if I go into an article and simply post and repost spaces until I gain the requisite number of edits? Or I make 1000 uncited changes? How does that suggest my familiarity with Wikipedia or a level of trust sufficient for admin-ship? Understand, it's not the denial (heck, it's not like it would change my lifestyle or anything), it's being denied out-of-hand for arbitrary level of edits that annoys me. How am I supposed to respect a decision based solely on the number of edits I've performed?
I appreciate the offer to help, could you start by helping understand why this particular count has such a big impact? Thanks. Padillah21:28, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
People pay attention to the edit count on RFAs because a low one is typically a good indicator of the user's familiarity with Wikipedia policies and guidelines. Administrators need to deal with situations that require broad knowledge of operational procedures on a daily basis, and an edit count of less than 1000 indicates that a user probably doesn't have enough of this knowledge to be an effective administrator. There's no official limit or anything like that, but having a much higher edit count gives you time to demonstrate your knowledge of policy. Your contributions are a good indicator of this knowledge, contrary to what you may think. Supporters look for specific things in your contributions, such as vandal fighting, new page patrolling, participation in AFDs, and other. Your contributions show excellent content additions, but little of them reflects the administrative side of Wikipedia, which admins are responsible for. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)21:44, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
...but anyway, can the laughter (I know it's funny, isn't it.) But, anyway, I was wondering if you could implement Friendly with user-hosted welcome templates and custom user warnings, plus a plug-in for AzaToth's Twinkle regarding this. Is it OK or are you too busy? Thanks in advance and happy holidays from -Goodshoped04:55, 1 December 2007 (UTC).

Thank you for supporting in my recent RfA. Words nor pictures can express my heartfelt appreciation at the confidence the community has shown me. I am both heartened and humbled by this confidence. I will carry the lessons learned from the constructive criticism I have received with me as I edit Wikipedia, and heed those lessons. Special thanks to Pedro and Henrik as nominators. Special thanks to Rudget who wanted to. A very special thanks to Moonriddengirl for her eloquence.
I was just looking at recent changes, and then noticed this user's user page.
He says 'Hello, and welcome to my Wikipedia site. Its still under construction, so please be patience.' Is he allowed to say that it is his 'Wikipedia site'?
I am sorry for asking you so many questions... but what is a Mainspace Edit, and what edits are classed as mainspace edits. Is tagging for deletion using Twinkle or tagging using Friendly classed as a Mainspace edit?
A mainspace edit is any edit to an article, so yes, tagging with Twinkle or Friendly counts as a mainspace edit. It's no problem for me to answer your questions, but if you want faster answers, you can contact me via the IM client of your choice. You can find my IM contact info on my userpage. There's an article on Inline Design that is essentially empty. It's new but I still think it's a little too sparse. Is there a template or {{tag}} to express this? Padillah17:17, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
I am having some serious issues with fixing one of the Wikipedia Pages. Empire Beauty School (for some reason I can't add a wikipage for them) purchased ALL the schools mentioned in the Wiki Post for Regis_Corporation ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regis_Corporation )
I cannot fix the article because linking to an Empire Beauty School post is impossible, since it says that the Empire Beauty School is spam, but the Regis one is legit? It's a problem that I cannot fix without adding a Wikipedia page for Empire Beauty School
It's painfully incomplete... and I plan on finishing it today, as long as you guys agree not to just delete all my efforts.. as I clearly argued the article regarding the schools are already in Wikipedia, the problem is that the article is inaccurate as Regis does not own the schools anymore, Empire does. In order for me to correct this issue I need to be able to add an Empire Beauty School page. Wehberf17:34, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Upon logging in today to update the page with more information, i found it deleted. What do i have to go about doing to get that page back without having to retype it? And why was it deleted? I did read through the explanation pages, but don't understand how the page fit those criteria.
First of all, welcome to Wikipedia! I left a message on your talk page that will inform you about autobiographical additions to Wikipedia which I think you should look over first. It mentions "notability", which is something that all article subjects must have in order to be included. Frankly, just being cast in a movie, especially one that isn't out yet, does not meet the notability guideline, which is why I deleted the article. Once the movie is out and reviewed, especially if the reviews mention you in particular, that will be the appropriate time for an article about you to be added. However, it is still recommended that you not add it, as it is a conflict of interest. By that time, if you are getting that much media attention, though, someone else will add it. Anarchism in Cuba
I'm really curious as to why something I wrote in my sandbox needs to be "moved" instead of cut and pasted. The page history should be irrelevant, as if I'd written it in Word or something. And so ya know, when you had to remove stuff from my sandbox, you inadvertantly missed a bunch of other stuff that got messed up by doing that move. Murderbike (talk) 23:59, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
So sorry for the inconvenience. All I know is that there was a CSD G6 tag on Anarchism in Cuba reuqesting that the history of your sandbox be merged into the page, so I obliged. I went ahead and recreated your sandbox page (empty, but with the header). If there's anything else you need me to do, let me know. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)15:29, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't know how much it matters, but Anarchism in Cuba now has the history of my sandbox, which goes back a lot farther than that article. It seems like that could be an issue, though I don't know how much of one. Should/can it be reverted to only have it's own history? Murderbike (talk) 02:18, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
If it's absolutely necessary, we could put a request into oversight to have the changes that were made to your Sandbox when it was just your Sandbox hidden, but they usually only do that for changes that violate WP:BLP. I'm not too worried about it, but if you'd like the changes hidden, just let me know and I'll try and get it sorted out. Unfortunately, once a history merge has been done, there is little chance of being able to undo it. So sorry again for the trouble, and be sure to let me know what you'd like me to do, if anything. Cheers! Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)04:43, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
Meh, I'm not gonna worry too much about it, it just seems weird the way the whole thing happened, totally unnecessary. And seems weird that now when people look at the history of Anarchism in Cuba, they'll see a bunch of other articles I've written. But again, whatever, if it's a hassle to change things, I'm not gonna sweat it. Murderbike (talk) 19:31, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
XMission Deletion
Can I ask what was "blatant" about the advertising on the now deleted XMission page? I believe it referenced the historical context of Utah's first ISP and wasn't an ad for selling services. The fact that the page wasn't written or edited by me or XMission staff supports this. I'd like to resolve this with you directly, but if it can't be done, I will request a review on your speedy deletion.Pete Ashdown (talk) 07:05, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
The page was edited by you, Pete Ashdown, who the article claims was the founder of XMission, in November 2005 (at the least), so saying that "the page wasn't written or edited by me or XMission staff" isn't exactly true. Advertising doesn't necessarily have to be written or edited by representatives of the company anyway; sentences that have a promotional tone, such as "XMission established itself from the beginning as a computer savvy ISP" do not conform to Wikipeida's neutral point of view policy and in this circumstance, appear to be promotional. Additionally, the article has no references whatsoever, which means that it does not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy either, and only provided a single external link to XMission's homepage.
In the meantime, I have restored the article to User:Pashdown/XMission for you to view or work on. Before you do, though, please read Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline, since you have a relationship with the subject of the article. It will be very important to add multiple reliable, independent sources to the article so that you can back up the claims made in it and prove that XMission is notable. These can be magazine or newspaper articles or reputable online sources (i.e. major news sites). I will be happy to help, as well, and if you can provide some sources for me I'll do my best to improve the article as well. Let me know if you have any questions. Ioeth(talkcontribsfriendly)14:03, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
The minor edits I made in 2005 were spelling, changing the reference to my sister from "wife", and adding a link to the home page. Do you think that they detracted from the copy written by others in an advertorial sense? Was there an excessive conflict in correcting the fact that I'm not married to my sister? You're asking me to fix your stated problems with the page while I am bound by conflict of interest. If you look at the discussion on the Wikipedia page about me, you will find that I have always tried to be very careful about COI. If you had problems with the neutrality of the page, why the rapid deletion rather than an edit? As I understand rapid deletion, it's reserved for spam pages. Why do you think that the page existed for over two years if it was spam? Why not a vote for deletion? Here are some collected news articles about XMission (lower half of the page) if you want references. I don't think it's proper that I post them though.Pete Ashdown (talk) 17:57, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
