Do not remove tags like {{pov}}, {{copyedit}}, etc without fixing the problem

POV in Muhammad Muslehuddin Siddiqui

Greetings, I'll quote below just a few examples of phrases which would have to be revised to remove bias:

  • He made a revolution through his ethics, discipline wisdom knowledge. (Says nothing actually factual, all opinion)
  • these all were no doubt unmatchable Sholars of Islam, consisting the ocean of knowledge, well acquainted and on the other hand having the student like Qari Muslehuddin having the vast thirst of Knowledge and wisedom, and now who can estimate, what the teachers granted to him and what he conceived ? (Completely unacceptable, literary-style praise. Not factual reference-book material.)
  • devoutly religious and pious, marvelously attractive (Members of opposing sects would probably disagree)
  • After downfall of Hyderabad (Some would say "downfall", but many others would argue it's a good thing. Neutral wording must be used.)

Again, I'm not saying that the above are wrong or lies, simply that other intelligent people could easily disagree with them, as as a neutral source of knowledge Wikipedia should report only the facts, and let individual readers decide what is good and bad. It is fine to say "Tom Smith's funeral was attended by 10,000 people, and was a front-page story in the New York Times." But it is not acceptable to say "Tom Smith was a wonderful man who was loved all over the world." Makes sense? Feel free to write if you have any questions about making the article more neutral, which is essential to maintaining it's international credibility. Greetings, I agree that POV (point of view) has been substantially reduced, and thus have removed the tag "pov". Copyediting is still needed, but your work to remove sectarian bias is greatly appreciated. I remind you, however, that honorifics including "A.S", "aleyi al-saleem", etc. are not used on Wikipedia, nor is the term "Holy Prophet". Again, I emphasise that this is not done out of disrespect for Mohammed, but in order to maintain neutrality and credibiltiy. For example, if a follower of Prophet X were to describe him as "the most amazing prophet ever", followers of Prophet Y would discount the article as being inaccurate. So we are not necessarily saying that praise of Mohammed is wrong, just pointing out that it is not objective from global perspective, and that the individual reader should be left to decide for himself as to how he should view individual religious figures. The article is much improved, though there is still some room for copyediting to make the article clear to novice readers not familiar with the subject. Thus I have removed the "pov" tag to reflect improved neutrality, but left the "copyedit" tag to note that clarification is needed. I'll do some myself, and leave the tag to others may help. IRT your suggestions: if the Ahmed Reza fatwa is the most notable fatwa against Thanwi, quoting briefly from it would be appropriate. I would't quote an entire paragraph due to space issues, but a sentence like Barelvi theologian Ahmed Reza Khan issued a fatwa of kufr against Thanwi, alleging that Thanwi's beliefs... That way there is full context (that ARK issued a fatwa of kufr), and quotes that any neutral party would agree fairly represent ARK's overall statement. It's not that summarising is inherently wrong, it just has to be done in a neutral way, so that any judgements are clearly the judgements of ARK, not the editor's opinion of Thanwi. Oh, and please remember to footnote the quote from the fatwa, stating what book it came from. Just include proper footnote notation (author, title, publisher, and date/location of publishing) between <ref> </ref> tags. MatthewVanitas (talk) 00:39, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding edits on Salah

Hello, and pardon me for not making my edit summary explanatory enough! To elaborate, the conclusion drawn by the original text was unsourced to begin with, and unless it is sourced soon will likely be deleted. Your inclusion of the quotation from Sahih Muslim would have been entirely appropriate if it were referenced in the cited source, but as there was no cited source it instead simply became ad-hoc primary source justification for improper synthesis.

Furthermore, the quote from a non-english source contains no notes on translation, which almost invariably leads to people who believe it to be translated differently complaining in the talk page that "This is translated wrong! It actually means this!" Thus making it material likely to be challenged, which should in accordance with our guidelines be sourced to begin with.

I want to add, criticism on the article Ashraf Ali Thanwi, and want to add actual context of his Fatwa which he gave, since there are few controversial Fatwa are related to him, and without quoting the actual text, one cannot get the actual idea, why Ahmad Raza Khan imposed fatwa of Kufr upon Thanvi.

I have been discussing with MatthewVanitas, but he is not allowing me to add the such context, I am afraid why neutral point of view is not been appreciated by Wiki Team, and removing my context after being neutral is considered to vandalism.
