agt: the champions january 1, 2019

Hi, i understand that wikis are not acceptable sources but in that page, people wrote that they got information from people sources and they wrote the information on that site and thats the stuff that you removed from the agt champions page. and also in that wikis page there was also some people who went to the live taping back in october of 2018 and they were told how they were eliminating the acts from 50 to 1 in the 7 weeks time. and you removed that part also. so before i get blocked from here i was wondering that if i can find another website to use as a source will that be ok. donaldtrump 05:07, 2 January 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spanisharabic (talk • contribs)

Unfortunately that's the issue right there. People claiming they got information from other sources makes it hearsay that is impossible to verify. Content added to articles needs to come from verified third-party sources, be it print or online. Plus, just like here, anyone can edit wikis and therefore add dubious content, and if I went to an AGT wiki right now I wouldn't know the difference. I'm not saying that's happened in regards to AGT but it is a possibility. Hopefully this clears things up a little. sixtynine • whaddya want? • 05:29, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Done with EVERY type of football actually

On the deaths page, players of gridiron football are always called "football players". "Footballers" are understood to be players of association football (who are never "football players" unless they have separate "manager" credits). Rugby union or rugby league are similarly specified. Sometimes American players of association football are called "soccer players". But in Australia both association football and Australian rules football are played and any reference to an Australian as a "footballer" falls under the global presumption that the former is meant unless a specification is made. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation

Why can't we include characters who have archived footages in the film Mortal Kombat: Annihilation? What exactly is this "first-billed" thing that you state in edit summaries? 2605:E000:2E52:FA00:BD73:B758:4AFF:F6B4 (talk) 00:48, 6 October 2019 (UTC)

"First-billed" means the main cast of actors highlighted at the start of either the opening or end credits. (MK:A has no opening credits.) The cast in the article itself duplicates and lists them in the order they appeared onscreen. The rest of the cast seen while the credits are rolling are mainly bit parts (Mileena, Baraka, Scorpion, etc.); they aren't first-billed and therefore are omitted from the list of main players in the article. The archive footage in Annihilation falls into the latter category, as they aren't any more special than the "new" characters in MK:A, nor were the actors even credited. Restricting casts to "first-billed" is normally to avoid overlong lists in articles; that's where something like IMDb comes in. Could you identify which sources you think are WP:PRIMARY (i.e., "original materials that are close to an event, and are often accounts written by people who are directly involved")? Rock & Ice is third party coverage. Being "related to his profession" doesn't make it a primary source. Wikipedia often uses sources that focus on a specific topic, such as mlb.com for baseball; that doesn't make them primary sources. As I said, the article may have sourcing issues, but excessive reliance on primary sources is not one of them. I would agree that often Facebook is not a reliable source, but there is a way to verify if a Facebook page actually belongs to the person named, although I'm not sure how. The article should not be deleted at all. I am trying to improve the overall quality of the article about that movie, and you just keep deleting everything. Totally not helpful. The user editing the page is clearly the filmmaker. No one would talk about a film in the way the editor is writing about it but the filmmaker himself. His name is Peter John Ross ans has had lots of articles removed, including his own Wikipedia page. Possible helpful sources

I haven't played the latest Mortal Kombat articles, but upon using twitter I have seen Ed Boon tweeting reviews of their 11 and the DLC which help into expanding reception sections, most notably narrative (meaning there might be more content for the characters). Here.

I've just expanded some parts from Liu Kang's reception due to finding some sources about 11. It might need some retouches so be bold to edit it if you feel like it.
