This is especially true for external links with those obtrusive arrow icons. Since the hotlinked HERMIONE website is already the first reference, may I suggest that you need not hotlink "HERMIONE" in the text body to that external link at all? Thanks. — Sizzle Flambé (☎/✍) 12:21, 9 December 2009 (UTC) References listHi there, I was looking at the HEMIONE article and noticed you removed a couple of references while editing. It's always worthwhile to have more references as opposed to fewer in order to establish Notability and for Independent Verification. Third party sources are crucial for this. That said, if you know of any other newspaper articles, books, journal articles, etc. about this project, please help out by adding them. They don't have to be available online, just be sure to include title, name of the periodical, name of author and date of publication. If you're familiar with standard referencing styles, those work just fine. Happy editing! :-) <>Multi‑Xfer<> (talk) 19:36, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
RedirectsUnfortunately, the short name "HERMIONE" alone redirects to the name "Hermione", from which one can follow a link to "Hermione (disambiguation)", where the Hotspot project is listed among other (non-person) namesakes. Not a very direct route, I'm sorry to say. However, we do now have redirects at Project HERMIONE, HERMIONE project, and HERMIONE Project, straight to your article. This means you could give out a URL like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_HERMIONE rather than the full-length article name, if you wish. — Sizzle Flambé (☎/✍) 21:36, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
"Conflict of interest" tag on articleYou'll have noticed the "conflict-of-interest" tag someone added to HERMIONE project. This normally applies when a major contributor to an article has a personal or business interest in the subject. I'm asking the Conflict-of-Interest Noticeboard whether this might not be an exception, since there are no business or financial opportunities offered here, and of course you've been entirely up-front about your participation. See "WP:COIN#FYI: HERMIONE project. Please AGF." — Sizzle Flambé (☎/✍) 02:54, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
ToneI removed the conflict of interest tag at the top of that article. The advice above is all good though, so definitely follow those suggestions. I'll try to help out if I can. The main thing there was the tone of the article: encyclopedic writing is tricky. It's generally meant to be boring and informative (but if you're clever you can actually structure it so that it's an interesting read). Some of the topics here may be helpful WP:NPOV. Burpelson AFB (talk) 22:38, 10 December 2009 (UTC) Nominated for DYKHermione p, at the suggestion of Burpelson AFB, I have nominated the article Hotspot Ecosystem Research and Man's Impact On European Seas for DYK, so it will be mentioned on the main page. I have listed you as the author, because while Burpelson AFB created the page, he felt that his contributions were not sufficient for him to take credit for the article. Also, it seems that you wrote the bulk of the initial article. Hope the article makes it through. RadManCF (talk) 02:28, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
