Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. I am FeralOink. I reviewed your most recent article submission, Banking Sector Competition.
I also noticed quite a collection of AfC issues here, on your talk page. Your subject matter choices are worthwhile and appropriate for Wikipedia! I encourage you to peruse the recommendations left for you, as they are VERY sensible. I did not notice any evidence of copyright violation in your Banking Sector Competition AfC, but I did not look for any. Here were my own suggestions regarding your most recent AfC:
This article STILL needs major re-work. I am personally very familiar with the subject matter. I have an MBA from the Wharton School. I have studied economics at Swarthmore College. I have worked for major money center banks. I read FRB economic research and Liberty Street Economics blog by FRBNY. I also read BIS and OECD reports. I fundamentally agree with what is stated here. Yet there are passages that, after a second AfC review, continue to be dreadfully opaque e.g.
"According to new studies, evidence shows that competition by itself does not necessarily lead to instability, but with higher likelihood in countries with lower levels of foreign ownership, weak investor protection, generous safety nets, and weak regulation and supervision."
Without sufficient context, this makes no logical sense. How can there be generous safety nets if regulation is weak? Who is paying for it? Are you referring to Greece under the EU? Or something else entirely? Also, the references as provided are inadequate. "World Bank GFDR report" with no year or page number is not sufficient. Nor are "Last Name, First Initial, year, title", with no page numbers or anything else, sufficient as references from books. There should be an ISBN, page number or a quote of the supporting passage included in the in inline reference itself (there is a field for that in the cite book and cite web and maybe even cite news and periodicals templates). As a reviewer, I should not need to chase all this information down myself for you. As a Wikipedia reader, I DEFINITELY should not need to chase this information down myself! My critique and comments are not intended to be harsh nor dogmatic. Ideologically, I approve of the existence of banks, free markets, competition and sensible regulation. I like the OECD, the World Bank etc. This is a worthwhile article. I want it to be a Wikipedia article- it is appropriate subject matter! It needs to be improved according to my recommendations though in order to be appropriate as encyclopedia content. Please try to make the language and sentence structure less opaque as well. This is not merely for my sake, but according to the guidelines for reading accessibility per Wikipedia.
