User talk:Gut MonkThis is an excellent picture (much appreciated!), but from the pattern of the plumage I strongly suspect this is a fledgling Northern Mockingbird, not a Gray Catbird. (Compare other pictures we have: File:Gray Catbird, juvenile.jpg vs. File:Mockingbird Chick000.jpg.) Would you mind if I rename the file appropriately and move it to the Northern Mockingbird article? Fran Rogers❇ 17:20, 1 July 2010 (UTC) Good eye! That is exactly what it is. Feel free to rename and move it. Gut Monk (talk) 20:29, 2 July 2010 (UTC) Hello there! Thank you for submitting a nomination to featured picture candidates. I have closed the nomination as withdrawn per your request. I'd like to enourage you to continue to participate; we can always use more people to help evaluate and nominate pictures for featured status. If you haven't seen the answer to your question at the nomination page: your signature with time stamp can be produced with four tildes: ~~~~. Three tildes produces only your signature (with no time stamp), and five tildes produces only a time stamp. If you have any further questions or comments, feel free leave a note on my talk page. Hope to see you around! I was just reading your user page and it seemed an odd thing to say. Is it tongue-in-cheek? Maedin\talk 17:59, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Hey; this, combined with my reaction to your last nomination, may make me look like a really unpleasant person. I hope you don't take it personally- honestly, I'm glad to have someone new around FPC! The majority of my nominations fail as well; it's just a matter of getting used to what works and what doesn't, in a way. Feel free to drop a line on my talk page if I can help with anything. J Milburn (talk) 10:10, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
Could you please expand on your reasoning here? We frequently promote images that illustrate only the respective genus article, as there is not yet an article on the species (or the precise species cannot be identified). I can't see what EV problem there is. J Milburn (talk) 21:25, 13 July 2010 (UTC) RE:Great pictureHey, thanks. I actually just use the picture of the day. I use the template {{potd}} and it changes everyday! -- Jack?! 00:53, 15 July 2010 (UTC) Why are you changing other people's text messages? It's an actual warnable offense. — raeky (talk | edits) 02:43, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
That's a great photo. Any luck? Adam Cuerden (talk) 23:33, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
FP action shotsThanks for the encouragement. You might want to look at some of the WP:VPC noms that I have. I think they are good quality.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 00:08, 27 July 2010 (UTC) TalkbackHello, Gut Monk. You have new messages at Makeemlighter's talk page.

You've probably ruined its chances now; it won't receive the necessary attention. I've reverted your edits. J Milburn (talk) 17:04, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
I've reverted to a version which I believe was based on the blocks alone. Adam Cuerden (talk) 03:56, 28 August 2010 (UTC) Re:Weather the stormHello, Gut Monk. You have new messages at P. S. zugzwangI think you asked about making a subsection for zugzwang in game theory. This was discussed a year or two ago. All we had on zugzwang in game theory was that one paragraph (which is in the introduction), so we decided to not make it a subsection. If it could be expanded, then it could be a subsection or even its own article, say zugzwang (game theory).
